1st Homecare was established in 2010 and has now grown to three branches covering Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire. All 3 branches are currently rated as Good by the Care Quality Commission (with two of three rated as Outstanding in Responsiveness)

It provides all forms of care in the homes of people who are older and disabled.

Clients include private funders together with 3 Local Authorities and at least four NHS Trusts.

A Live-in Care service has also been established a few years ago which provides Live-in Care services to clients within about 100 miles of the offices. Many clients choose this service as an alternative to Residential Care.

For 5 consecutive years 1st Homecare has been voted by clients as one of the Top 20 Groups in the UK (according to homecare.co.uk) (2020 to 2024)

1st Homecare attended my mother at home and without exception were both compassionate and extremely helpful, and never missed a visit. We only stopped using them as my mother was admitted to hospital and then to a nursing home. The carer reports on the website were also extremely detailed and helpful.

Both my parents need some care. My mother has Parkinson's and has mobility issues. My father has onset dementia. Our current carer Bella is a breath of fresh air. She is efficient without being intrusive. She has running themes going on between herself and my father and there is laughter.

We honestly cannot thank First Home Care enough for the support they are providing for our grandmother.


From the moment she came home, the team have been absolutely incredible. They treat her with such kindness, dignity and respect, and it's clear they genuinely care about her comfort and wellbeing.

Nothing ever feels rushed, and they always take the time to make sure she is settled and comfortable.


As a family, it means everything to us to have her at home, surrounded by familiar things, and we have complete peace of mind knowing she is in such capable and compassionate hands. The communication has been excellent, and every member of staff we've met has been warm, professional and supportive.


This is a difficult time for us, but First Home Care have made it so much easier. We are truly grateful for everything they are doing.

Whilst I was not involved directly in the decision to use 1st Homecare I have to say that having now met the carer and seen first hand how she looks after my Mother in Law I am very happy with the decision to use them, especially based on the standard of care provided. Normally a fiercely independent
woman I had expected she would find the presence of new people in her home a challenge but almost immediately those concerns vanished as the carers are so good with her she seems to genuinely enjoy their company and its as if they are now old friends visiting rather than carers.

We've been extremely happy with the care provided by 1st Home Care Kings Langley for my mum. The carers are genuinely kind, patient and attentive, and they always make sure her needs are well looked after. They keep on top of any changes and communicate well, which gives our family real peace of mind.

Dad's daily carer is such a professional, friendly, helpful, positive and caring person. She is great with Dad and knows exactly how to handle him so I can relax and get on with other things. I have complete confidence in her and I look forward to her daily visit as does Dad.

I have dealt with 1stDirect and it's predecessor, Ainsworth for more than 20 years. I have never been let down by them. Several of the carers have become long-term family friends going back 20 years

We've used 1st Homecare a couple of times now to support my elderly parents while they were having difficulties in supporting themselves.
Everyone I encountered was professional, caring and accommodating and I knew my parents were in good hands every day. Nothing was too much trouble for them or "out
of scope" and the only thing I needed to do was read the daily reports (which were always completed swiftly) to get an update. I'd also like to recognise the office/management team for their support and help.
We won't hesitate to use them again if the need arises.

Keeping Mum safe and happy at home is our top priority. Finding 1st Homecare (Oxford) has been so important to our family. They looked after Dad so well during the last six months of his life and have been providing wonderful regular care for Mum for six years. The communication with the local manager
is excellent and her home monitoring visits are extremely valuable to ensure the care plan can be adapted to match Mum's needs. The carers are friendly, caring and very respectful. Mum looks forward to seeing them. The opportunity to give feedback after every visit is very helpful. If you are looking for a high standard of homecare I recommend you ask 1st Homecare.

1st Homecare have been caring for my 92-year-old mother for several months. Having been disappointed with the care provided by other agencies, I was relieved and delighted to have found 1st Homecare. The company is outstanding in its professionalism and efficiency, and all their carers are experienced,
compassionate and sensitive to mum's needs as a sight-impaired dementia sufferer with limited mobility. Their health and safety practices are thorough and robust, and I feel confident that my mum is being well cared for. Mum's care plan is under constant review as her needs change and any requests from me are dealt with promptly. For me, seeing my mum relaxed and reassured when she is with the carers is the best measure of the care being given. 1st Homecare has given me peace of mind and I cannot praise them highly enough.

All the carers my mum has are really kind and helpful. They are very caring towards my mum. She enjoys their daily visits.
The office staff are really lovely too. Always willing to help with any queries.

It is so important and a relief to know that a carer will be coming in each day and to know that they are efficient, friendly and able to provide the help needed. I would not be able to cope without their help and they are always cheerful and ready to listen, asking how I am getting on and always asking
if there is anything else that needs to be done before they leave.
