Having had two care agencies before, I was relieved to find Day to Day Care. The carers looked after my mum with care and compassion. Always on time, helping her shower and dress, then as she declined, calling out the district nurse, reporting problems to myself, feeding her and prompting her medication.
Caring for her cat also. With the carers leaving notes on the app, I felt reassured Mum was safe and well. They looked after her coming in four times a day till the end with palliative care, and I am very thankful to the carers for everything. With them, we kept her home with her beloved cat where she wanted to be. I would recommend Day to Day in Orpington for looking after your loved ones and for peace of mind.

Being a carer is a commitment to the well being of those they are deemed responsible for. The profession – for it is that - necessitates a wide range of skills that vary from client to client, the changing needs that arise and the ability to instil confidence. My mother received the best care from her
carers. Regular faces allowed her to chat happily with them as continuity was important. Kindness was always evident, the humour, the patience and the knowledge were exceptional. The creation of a care plan and the rota system were all part of this teamwork. As a daughter, I felt supported throughout. I can only offer my thanks to all those at Day to Day Care that looked after my mother. An amazing group of people.
Reply from David Armstrong, Managing Director at Day to Day Care LtdThank you for your kind words. I know how much we enjoyed looking after Mum. She was always so polite, thoughtful and such a warm and lovely lady. Your thanks have, of course, been communicated to the team and we wish Mum all the best in her new home.

Day to Day Care enables my very elderly mother to manage her personal care with the additional assistance she increasingly needed. She used their service more and more over about six years, and the carers who attended her were always efficient and helpful, and particular carers who attended her regularly
over the past couple of years were very kind and caring and became her friends.

My mother has dementia and I know without the help and care from the staff team at Day to Day, she would not have been able to live independently in sheltered accommodation for this long. Mum usually has carers 3 times a day with an added lunch call on my day off. The carers all treat Mum with such
kindness and respect. They put her at ease, especially with personal care. Mum says how lovely everyone is and is very grateful for the care they give her. Mum’s care plan is updated regularly as her needs increase. All tasks are carried out properly. I have found the agency app invaluable in keeping me updated when I am not there. The office tries hard to be flexible if a timed visit needs altering. The support and advice I have received from everyone in the office has been invaluable and has enabled me to continue caring for mum. To know that there is someone at the end of the phone when I have a problem is a great comfort plus there is advice and suggestions to give a solution.
Reply from David Armstrong, Managing Director at Day to Day Care LtdJill, thank you for your kind and thoughtful review. We always aim to please and it's great to know that we are making a real difference both in helping you care for mum and in enabling mum to continue living independently. Your appreciation means a lot to us.

We have been looked after beautifully while my husband was alive, and now that good care is being continued while I am on my own. My personal care is completed with gentleness, kindness and discreteness. We all share good humour and laughter, but when I am in pain, great sympathy is shown. All carers
are very careful concerning cleanliness and hygiene protocols.

Day to Day Care Ltd has provided excellent care for my elderly cousin for about 3 years. These needs have increased and changed greatly during 2021 and the personal carers and manager have responded very quickly to these changes and importantly provided great support to me at a difficult time. They
have been very flexible and I know I can phone at any time which is a great comfort as I do not live locally. My relative’s personal carers have become an important part of her life during this incredibly difficult time and I have also come to rely on them. They have quite simply been incredible.

Day to Day have provided support to my elderly father for three years. The level of care has increased as he has become more frail and meets his needs completely. They are always on the end of a phone to discuss and update his care plan and the app is invaluable as I can see exactly how he is after
each care visit. I highly recommend Day to Day for their professional, caring and friendly support to him and for my peace of mind that he is being well looked after. I don’t know what I would do without them.

My brother lived alone and as the years passed he required more frequent assistance. The family member who set up the services of Day to Day Care died two years ago, leaving me as the only living relative. Since I live in the USA, I visited my brother and the agency to determine his needs. I found every
staff member to be extremely helpful, professional and caring. I stayed in touch with the agency via email and I knew from my brother’s phone calls that he was happy. It was the agency who notified me of his sudden death and I depended on them to assist me in negotiating the many agencies involved until I could return to the U.K. I recommend them without reservation.

Day to Day cared for our dad, at first on a once a week visit. As our dad aged and his health deteriorated Day to Day were gradually asked to increase their visits. The staff I met were extremely positive, polite and respectful of the way our dad was cared for. To be honest, the tasks and duties they
performed it is not something an everyday type of person could do, it takes a special and caring person to help feed, wash and clothe an elderly person, let alone what they did in commode and later adult sanitary pad changing.
All the carers I met, were absolutely fabulous, I would love to name them, but of course, I cannot for data protection purposes, however, I think what sums up the care they gave, is that if it hadn't been for "all the team" my family would have been on their knees.
If you have an elderly or vulnerable person, who needs special attention and that personal touch, I would have no hesitation in recommending this company.

I cannot fault this service, they have been amazing and taken all the pressure off of me in providing care for my father. They are on time, polite, professional and caring both to my father and myself. They also offer a companionship service. All of the carers are lovely and both me and my dad look
forward to their visits. They are also careful with health and safety and professional boundaries that help keep the clients safe, like pointing out special services that are needed for foot care and physio etc so they are good in terms of referral where needed. The phone is answered at all times and record keeping is excellent with electronic tags being used to monitor visits and a care plan accessible online. I also think the rates are fair, they are transparent regarding fees, warning about when fees will be increased at bank holidays to help us manage our money.

From our first phone call to Day to Day Care we were impressed by their professional, but friendly attitude. We only needed half an hour care per day to have someone attend Mum to help with medication while we were on holiday, but we were very pleased with the service and Mum was completely happy with
all of the carers that came. We will certainly use them again if needed.

Day to Day Care provided a good level of care and support to my mum and the family in difficult circumstances. Management were always available to speak to and paid personal visits when needed. Carers really did 'care' for Mum even when she was not receptive, and some persevered when many would have
found it too difficult. We are eternally grateful to them.
My only slight criticism - which I hope might be used in improving systems and training of staff - is in the use of Open Pass system and scoring/traffic light system. In latter stages of Mum's care, I checked on this daily. I was not sure how it was being completed by carers - some provided detail and it was easily understood in terms of what they'd been able to do with Mum on each visit. Others were possibly recording what had been done in terms of their own supervision and standards of work. This wasn't useful to family as it didn't give enough detail to gauge what was going on for Mum.
Overall record keeping was good.
Thank you.
Reply from David Armstrong at Day to Day Care LtdMandy, thank you for your kind appreciation of the service Mum received. We are pleased we were able to help.

I will contact you separately regarding the OpenPass system. It's a great communication tool and I want to make sure clients and their families get the maximum benefit from it.

Best Wishes, David

  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
