My only slight criticism - which I hope might be used in improving systems and training of staff - is in the use of Open Pass system and scoring/traffic light system. In latter stages of Mum's care, I checked on this daily. I was not sure how it was being completed by carers - some provided detail and it was easily understood in terms of what they'd been able to do with Mum on each visit. Others were possibly recording what had been done in terms of their own supervision and standards of work. This wasn't useful to family as it didn't give enough detail to gauge what was going on for Mum.
Overall record keeping was good.
Thank you.
Mandy, thank you for your kind appreciation of the service Mum received. We are pleased we were able to help.
I will contact you separately regarding the OpenPass system. It's a great communication tool and I want to make sure clients and their families get the maximum benefit from it.
Best Wishes, David
After just one visit, I am very impressed by the level of care - more than I had anticipated.
Flexible service adapting to the client’s daily complex needs. Care plans are well set up and monitored. New ideas and training are incorporated into the care plan.
I recently broke my leg. The service I received from the carers was first class. They treated me very well. The carers were on time and did all that was asked of them. Nothing was too much trouble. Made me feel very comfortable.
Very satisfied with day to day care.
I am paralysed from the waist down to my feet, so need someone to put me to bed and someone to get me up in the morning. They have to help get me undressed at night and in the morning assist me to the bathroom to go to the toilet and I was myself and they get me dressed. They do this weekend and evenings as I have a private lady weekdays.
Mum's been using DtD (Day to Day Care) for some time now and you do consistently get a very good/professional and caring standard of service; all the way up to "the governor". (And no rushing out the door almost as soon as they turn up, as I have noticed when a clearly overburdened Social Services team briefly took over for assessment purposes). Additionally, I and my brothers visit mum frequently, and so are constantly ringing to cancel various DtD visits and subject to a 24hr notification, this is catered for at no charge. Recommend without hesitation. Very Can-do!
My mother is given excellent and sympathetic care from the carers. She has 2 visits each day for washing, meals and medicine. The carers alert myself or my sister of any problems and her daily care can be monitored by Openpass.
The Day to Day Care agency provided care to my Mother-in-Law on an increasing basis since 2013. As she became increasingly frail, she needed more care and went from one visit in the morning to helping her dress and shower to four times a day to help not just with dressing in the morning and undressing at night, but also with making meals and giving her medication.
The manager visited regularly and worked with my wife and myself to put together an effective care plan which included gently encouraging her to drink and shower which left to her own devices she would not do. They were a big support to us as even though we visited most days of the week, without the carers she could not have remained at home as long as she did. Her increasing physical frailness and deteriorating mental capacity meant that despite the care provided, she had to go to live in a care home in July 2016.
The Agency helped me look after my mother for over ten years until her recent death. I could not have managed without the help of her kind and competent carers. Mum was elderly and had great difficulty with mobility and I was able to continue with my job knowing that she was well looked after when I could not be there. I always felt that whatever needed doing when they arrived, it would be done and she would be left comfortable and safe until I got home. The management staff are approachable and have dealt promptly with any requests. This is a very good agency.
Our dad needed care after suffering a stroke. We employed a company recommended by the borough. It was totally stressful especially to dad. We changed company to Day to Day Care who totally transformed dad's life and therefore ours. They were totally professional, caring and reliable from the very top of the organisation the whole way through. On the many occasions our thanks were given their response was "we are only doing our job". They had no idea that not every carer was the same as them. We cannot thank them enough.
Day to Day Care enabled my mother to be looked after at home during her final years, and I could not have managed without their support. Not only were they excellent carers, they always seemed to go beyond the call of duty. I was very impressed with their attention to detail, their kindness and compassion. My mother was always treated with dignity and the standard of care was excellent.
Over the period that Day to Day Care has been used difficulties have been experienced from time to time but most of these have been successfully surmounted. The result has been a service which has proved generally satisfactory and at times exemplary.
We have been delighted with the help, care, and ease with which we were able to arrange care for our friend. The care has been first rate in every respect and we cannot recommend this local firm highly enough.
