Absolutely disgusting! carers constantly refusing to go in because of aggitation of a man that is in late stages of dementia, asking what his background was like. He was the most gentle caring considerate man, not an aggressive bone in his body never even rasied his voice! Refuse to leave him food when
hes agitated saying its force feeding but yet he is unable to make himself anything. Do a 4 min call when hes allocated 45 mins. Never help him clean up or get him milk if hes run out. His quirk in Dementia is saying No No No to absolutely anything, that doesn't mean his basic needs should be left unmet. As a family this is also brand new to us, this time last year he was perfectly fine and now this. They are meant to be supporting us to support him! I have footage from outside of the apartments he lives in (not our cctv its the buildings) or carers laughing at him! CQC will be involved first thing in the morning! And to top it off, the care company are not answering the phone!

As a Care Provider, we are extremely saddened by the content of this review as we aim to provide the highest level of care to the people we support. There is always a wider picture to every situation and the information recorded on our systems clearly evidences the actions taken by our carers to try and meet the care and support needs of this gentleman and the challenges that our carers faced when he was agitated. Our staff are trained in de-escalation techniques, as part of promoting person centred care, as it prioritises the carers understanding and responses to the gentleman's specific needs and communication styles to defuse certain situations. There were several conversations between the Office-based staff and the family regarding the care and support needs of the gentleman due to the challenges that the carers were facing when trying to meet his needs. It is unfortunate that the family didn't feel they could follow our Company's complaints procedure to resolve any issues.
