Hartwig Care has cared for my wife since 2014 after a series of major strokes left her immobile, with significant cognitive impairment, other serious and complex medical issues, and potentially a very limited life expectancy requiring 24-hour and additional carer support every day. Hartwig's care of
my wife has been outstanding. I am in no doubt that the consistency and calibre of those carers have given my wife a quality of life that she would not otherwise have. The same exceptional 24-hour live-in carer for over 7 years. The same support carers for over 4 years. The same assigned manager throughout the 9 years, taking a close interest and involvement in my wife's care. All quite remarkable.

Useless in the first week, carers failed to attend twice one for the last visit of the day and once in the morning. The staff attending didn't know how to change the catheter bag, one carer was on their second day with the company and didn't know how to operate the bed and had no one in attendance with
them,
Night visit contracted to help to bed between 8pm and 9pm but continued to arrive at 7pm.
No consistency in staff provided so constant calls to the family for assistance in gaining access and providing care including training carers on site. 5 times on Sunday alone.
Local management said they would visit after the first failed visit but even then did not keep the appointment, no reason given or call to cancel.

We engaged the Hartwig Care - Camden in 2017 to provide home care for our aunt after a bad fall. Her closest relatives live abroad and we were dependent on reliable and professional care for her in the home. The initial care package was a few hours a week but gradually augmented as her mobility greatly
declined and her frailty increased, and when she died at one hundred and three, Hartwig Care - Camden carers were with her round the clock. We can vouch for the high professional standards and caring attitudes of all Hartwig Care - Camden employees, their expertise in personal care, household tasks and providing nutritious meals. The office was always available, especially during various hospital stays, the organisation was excellent and the carers couldn’t have been more attentive. Our aunt was closely monitored at all times, especially towards the end of her life. The fact that she was able to remain in her own home right up to the end was due in no small part to the commitment and combined efforts of Hartwig Care - Camden carers and managers.

Hartwig Care - Camden have been involved in my parents care for several years. My father who was pretty fit physically and pin sharp mentally, gradually and slightly grudgingly needed more and more help in looking after my mother, who is neither of those things. Harwigs Care - Camden carers provided
that help. When he died last year aged ninety one, I became responsible for my mothers care. I have always promised my mother that she would see her days out in her home and that would not have been possible without the wonderful and genuine care provided by Hartwigs Care - Camden employees. My mother receives twenty four hour care in her home, from strangers but they are not because she reliably receives care from the same people and in the framework my father helped to organise, I know that she is in a good place. Thank you.

They have been so helpful and always at the end of the phone/email.
The carers are caring and really know the client well. Whenever the client is slightly unwell or something needs doing they know what to do and get the right kind of attention as soon as possible. Feel really confident in their care

My frail and elderly father has been in the care of Hartwig for many years now and I have always found the carers to be extremely reliable. They arrive on time and communicate with me as part of a team, often going above and beyond their duties. My father has had the same small team of regular carers
twice a day, seven days a week which is very reassuring for him and me. The office are quick to respond if there are any issues and have been helpful in dealing with doctors and other agencies on my father's behalf. I would recommend them without hesitation.

My aunt has received care over the past few years and has had consistent Carers with little change in staffing which has enabled her to build up an excellent relationship with her Carer’s. The management have always been responsive to any change in my aunt’s circumstance and have offered good advice
regarding suitable care packages. Living at a distance (and with limited contact during the Pandemic), I have been so reassured by the care given and confident that any concerns regarding my aunt will be brought to my attention. I would highly recommend Hartwig Care.

Very responsive to the particular needs of the client. The transfer from another service provider was handled with great tact and professionalism and the manager responsible demonstrated by her actions a very genuine concern for the well-being of the client.

One of my sister’s carers has tested positive for COVID-19. Hartwig Care will give my family the test kits but refusing to help us after that which also includes my sister, their client. My sister has a heart problem and suffers from Friedreich's Ataxia and needs a lot of care. I’m disgusted that
Hartwig Care's attitude is it’s not their responsibility.

Absolutely the worst experience with this care company, the level of care my father is receiving is horrendous, the carers are late every shift, they attend at the wrong times and when asked why they are late one carers response to being 30 minutes late was 'I can't fly here'. All this has been raised
to the managers.
One manager is not helpful whatsoever. When requested a call back he called but did not leave a message and did not try and call back. When told about the fact that staff were rude, his response was they are working on giving carers more travel time. Completely ignores all other issues.
I would advise you to stay away from this company. Do not leave your loved one in their care.

I can only apologise that you felt you experienced inadequate care with Hartwig Care. Having carers attend visits at the wrong time is completely unacceptable and I can reassure you that this case is being taken very seriously by senior management.
Following this review, as you are aware, we have had extensive phone calls with yourself and aim to achieve the highest level of care for your family member.
As a company, we have removed carers that you were unhappy with and will work closely with yourself to ensure that all care workers visiting your family member report to the care manager if they are running late. Also, our monitoring team have been informed to include this package of care on their watch list.
For further concerns, we will arrange a one to one with the care manager.

Hartwig has provided excellent care and support for over 18 months for my elderly godmother, who has severe Dementia. The care they provide allows my godmother to stay comfortably in her own home, which she would prefer. Hartwig provides one to one care for her and provides a totally managed service.
I have found them to be flexible, trustworthy, reliable and caring. The management staff, are always available when I need to contact them to discuss my godmother's situation. I am very happy with the excellent care and support they give to my godmother and the support that they give to me.

I think overall Hartwig perform to an adequate level. There is an eclectic mix of staff. One of the problems I have encountered is a lack of communication between departments. Lack of communication doesn’t bode well when running a busy care agency. Most of the staff are friendly and approachable and
incredibly helpful. It is imperative as a family that we feel that my grandmother is supported to the highest possible standards. We need peace of mind when carers are coming and going that they will do the best by my grandmother. She is extremely vulnerable.
