My Auntie is very happy with her carers and it is very reassuring to know she is being looked after as we are 4 hours drive away.
I am covered for five hours relief every week. All the ladies have been pleasant, helpful, caring and have established a good rapport with my wife and me. If I encountered someone in similar circumstances to ours I would be extremely likely to point them in the Nightingales direction.
All the girls I have and the service is first class (wonderful).
Wonderful support from all the team. They visited morning and evening to wash my mother. In addition, we employed some carers to sit with my mother in the afternoons and that the family could take some 'time off'.
Always treated my mother with respect and dignity. This support enabled us to keep my mother in her home for the last weeks.
Very pleased with the service.
Nightingales Golden Care provided care for both of my parents during the final years of their lives. My parents both had dementia and my father also had mobility problems. I chose Nightingales as my parents would have a regular carer who would really get to know them. The package of care was very well managed and adaptable to their changing needs which rose to a level where a live-in carer was required for the final few months of life. Having a live in carer enabled my father to stay at home, as he had wanted and be cared for with patience and dignity.
The service which is provided is excellent and all the staff are very caring and we are very lucky to have found a good agency and would recommend to everybody.
Did not mind how much they had to do for my husband.
Very positive about his needs which were many.
My husband (client) had nothing but praise when telling me about your staff.
Thank you.
Carers arrive on time and I am pleased with the care given.
I was extremely impressed by the level of service, care and flexibility provided by Nightingales. They were able to swiftly provide the emergency care required to keep my parents living safely in their own home and create a care plan to reflect their continuing needs and preferences. The continuity and support given by the staff for my parents is outstanding. The care manager was very supportive and flexible, able to assess my parents whilst they were still in hospital.
My son benefits from his weekly outings with Nightingales, who provide a professional and caring service.
The sitters are reliable, friendly and helpful which gives me peace of mind during my respite time.
I am more than happy with the service supplied and do not think I could find anything better. Excellent.
My mother is taken out once a week by a carer. She really enjoys her outings, even though she has advanced dementia. The carer is very caring and thoughtful. It allows me to have a little time off from caring.
Lovely friendly carers, office staff are friendly and super efficient. Nightingales have been great, giving our mum support and care with great empathy, understanding of her dementia and always positive and friendly.
I found all the staff kind, helpful and very willing to assist - I would not hesitate to call on them anytime.
The agency is very friendly and responsive to any requests for help. All the carers who have come to assist have been careful and caring.
I would be happy to recommend Nightingales to any family who are in need of a carer.
As a nurse, I was apprehensive about using carers for mum. As her care increased with her declining health, I have found all the carers have treated her with the utmost respect. The care given to be professional and tailored to her needs. The record keeping was always informative to me and I could assess how my mum was day by day. I was always sent through a schedule for the week, which kept me informed of times and staff. I would recommend the agency to family and friends.
I really could not do without your service. Everyone is so reliable and never late. I enjoy shopping and Wednesday is the hair-dressers and a little runaround, then home for a nice cup of coffee - The carer says "put the kettle on". And we sit down and have a nice chat - I'm sure having Nightingales Golden Care Ltd is keeping me going, so please keep going, you are a wonderful firm to know.
My mum has several favourite carers who are great with her, nothing is too much trouble.

Meet the Team (6)
Hi everyone, my name is Sally, and I am the Clinical Lead here at Nightingales Golden Care.
Most staff will probably recognise me as the lady in the blue scrubs. I like to get out about doing welfare checks and to help to establish new care packages and monitor that they are working well. Staff will probably hear from me when updating their competencies in areas such as Medication, Moving & Handling, and Infection Prevention & Control (IPC).
I really enjoy working here at Nightingales, and I’m proud of the staff that we have and the difference we make to people’s lives through our work. Assisting people to stay at home for longer, enabling them to live in the way they want to and ensuring those at the end of their lives have everything they need.
Other than my three children and my 8 grandchildren, who I love very much, setting up Nightingales back in 2002 is the thing I am most proud of. It’s been through a lot of changes over the years, and I am proud of my son Ben and the way he manages it. Working with him has been a highlight of my career.
I’ve been working in care for more than 45 years and have trained as a Registered Nurse and a midwife and have a BSC in disability studies. Over the years, I have worked in hospitals, care homes and the community in many different roles and have enjoyed the variety of experiences that working in care can bring. I love being able to do enriching activities with service users, such as swimming with a lady with Cerebral palsy, cooking with a client with dementia, or riding bikes with a terminally ill man.
I grew up in a family of nurses, and I have been working in the care industry since my first role as a community carer when I was 16.
I went to University and specialised in Recruitment and Human Resource Management, eventually gaining my Registered Manager Qualification when I became the manager of Nightingale's Golden Care in 2009.
I'm very proud of the awards we have won whilst I have been the manager, including my own award of the 'Home Care Manager of the Year Award' at the Great British Care Awards in 2014, as well as awards for other staff members such as the 'Carer of the Year' at the Hampshire Care Awards, and our Clinical Lead winning several awards throughout her time with us.
I'm also proud of our achievements in being named in the Top 20 Most Recommended Care Agencies in the South East for 4 years in a row.
In my spare time I enjoy running marathons, and attending Pompey games with my 2 boys.
Hi everyone, my name is Dan, and I am the Accounts and Payroll Manager here at Nightingales Golden Care. My main role within the organisation is to maintain the accounts, invoicing, and payroll. I also have the unofficial title of 'IT Support', which mainly consists of asking people if they’ve tried turning it off and on again!
In my spare time, I like relaxing in front of a good game, going to the gym and paddle-boarding despite nearly drowning myself a number of times.
I’ve been with the company since 2007, and in that time, I have progressed through a range of roles from Coordinator, Operations Manager, and to my current role as Accounts and Payroll Manager. This has given me unique insights into the many dimensions of care provision, enabling me to continually refine our processes. I’m also the go-to man if anyone needs an all-singing, all-dancing spreadsheet!
I’m very proud to work for Nightingales, as part of an excellent management team from all walks of life. Together, we’ve overcome a range of challenges within the industry and continue to push Nightingales forward to deliver a five-star service.
The most memorable moment from my time here was when there was water leaking through the office ceiling. Within a matter of minutes of noticing a small drip, the ceiling and lights came crashing down around us whilst we were grabbing all the paperwork and equipment we could. It was that day we truly learnt the importance of cloud storage.
Hi, I'm Charlotte, the Engagement Manager for Nightingale's Golden Care. Like Ben, I also grew up in a family of nurses (it was the same family, I'm his sister)!
I have been working in Health and Social Care since I began my nurse training in 2001.
I love working here because I have seen the family business grow and evolve, and I enjoy working to improve the quality of service it provides.
Staff will usually hear from me when I am responding to their alerts or issues, or during their regular supervisions.
I know how hard the staff work at Nightingales and how difficult the role can be. I’m always trying to understand what the challenges are to see if we can make things run a bit smoother.
I gained the nickname ‘textbooks’ for studying random subjects, and also have a Degree in Nursing, a Master's in Medical Ethics and Law, and a Diploma in Human Physiology and Health.
My husband Tim joined Nightingale's Golden Care as Operations Manager in June 2025, and so our kitchen table often serves as a secondary office space.
In my free time, I like to do very uncool things like knit and crochet and take pictures of my dog and cat. I have three girls and therefore spend a huge amount of my life doing washing.
Hi, I'm Tim. I'm the Operations Manager for Nightingale's Golden Care.
I grew up in a very large family, and both of my parents were doctors. I've been married to Charlotte since 2008 and have watched the family business grow before bringing my skills learned from working in newspaper journalism for 10 years, and in engagement for local authorities for over 15 years.
I really enjoy working with people to help to make their sometimes challenging lives easier, and love learning about the histories of the many families we help to look after.
Outside of work, I love football and support my local team, Portsmouth. I enjoy long dog walks along the South Downs. I also love music, history, board games, and a good podcast.
Hi, I'm Colette, and I have been working in the care industry on and off since I was 16. I started working for Nightingale's Golden Care in 2019. My knack for organising quickly made me an invaluable member of the team.
I am always very proud to say I work for Nightingales, as the standards of this company are so high, and I have never worked in a company where its heart is so firmly in the right place.
Although my official title is Administrative Assistant, my non-official title should be “anything I can help with?” as my role has evolved over the years from mainly scanning, archiving and stuffing envelopes, to manning the phones, dealing with queries about the services we provide at Nightingales, fielding sales calls, and generally pointing people in the right direction.
I cover basic admin tasks such as recording and tracking annual leave, and try to keep everyone informed and up to date on any minor changes (the little things matter). I also liaise with other professionals, such as GPs and Social Services on behalf of staff and service users, which means I can spend a lot of time listening to “on hold” music! If carers or service users are not sure about who they need to talk to or how to complete any task or have a question about pretty much anything, I am always happy to help.
It’s a stressful industry a lot of the time, and people can be under a lot of pressure, but when you are privileged to be part of people’s personal lives, there is always room to celebrate the good things and have a giggle.
