Recently my Mum was discharged from hospital with a QDS POC and an overnight visit. Having lived independently up until October 2025 the idea of having carers was very daunting for her and us as a family. She is 92 and very strong willed.
From the moment the assessor came to visit on day of discharge
to present day I can not fault the care , commitment and high quality service my Mum receives. She can be very challenging at times but the team always demonstrate professionalism throughout their visits. Great attention was given to detail when the care plan was formulated. There is excellent communication and my Mum is treated with dignity and respect. It is such a comfort to myself and my sister to know that Mum is receiving such holistic care .
Continuity of staff is given and there are 2 regular staff members who are excellent and I feel safe leaving them to care for my Mum.
Professional carers have allowed my Mum to stay within her own home which is her preferred place of care.

I transferred from another care company as I was not happy with the care they provided for my elderly mother

When I first approached Professional carers about taking on my mum I found them very helpful and the guidance they gave me made me assured that mum would be well looked after

It took

a little while to adapt for both carers and mum but over the years the carers got to know mum well - they would laugh with her - coaxed her into trying to eat and looked after her well

Sadly my dear mum passed away last week but I cannot express enough how thankful my sister and I and were for the support kindness and compassion shown not only to mum but to ourselves as well - it made a difference to us to know that their were so many of the carers that shared our emotion

It was so lovely to be able to have mum cared at home by such kind and caring people especially during her last few days at home and for this we as a family are grateful
I would certainly recommend this company to anyone

Reply from Gary Nagle, Director at Professional Carers WirralDear Kim, thank you so much for taking the time to write such a kind and thoughtful message.

We are truly sorry for the loss of your dear mum, and we extend our heartfelt condolences to you, your sister, and your whole family. It means a great deal to us to know that you felt supported during such a difficult time.

Caring for your mum was a privilege, and your words about the relationships built with our carers will mean more to them than you can imagine.

Thank you for trusting Professional Carers to support your mum and your family. We are deeply grateful for your recommendation and for allowing us to be part of your mum's care journey.

Please know that our thoughts are with you at this time.

Best wishes.

Mum has been provided with superb love, care and support by the Professional carers team at home for five years. The dedication by the onsite carers and the office based team is beyond wonderful. The App that Professional Carers use is such a brilliant piece of technology to enable my family to engage
with the needs mum has so collectively we can all contribute to keep mum living at home.

The Professional Carers as an organisation / company are truly a patient focused and caring team of people.

Mum has been with Professional carers for over 6 years, from in the community to now in a extra care facility. They listen and adapt quickly, the care has been amazing.
Everyone is easy to approach and the activities they provide have been much fun.

Staff turnover is extremely high, unfortunately, see other websites.
You'll see company advertisements, and vacancies regularly are listed.
Carer quality depends on who you get, and what they consider a 'Good' standard of care.
Unfortunately, they have a lot of big complexes, for assisted living.
They
take more than they can manage.
Staff don't get enough time to get from one care call to another. Which, can be the other end of Seacombe, to New Brighton at times. This then impacts the staff and clients, as staff don't get paid, if they over set hours. So staff try their best to make up lost time. If they go over set hours, they don't get paid.
In turn eventually leave. Clients can have late lunch calls, eg, as late as between 2-3 pm.
Found inaccurate records keeping saying all tasks were completed when they were not.
Don't always go by Care Quality Commission (CQC) reviews.
Do your own research. Look through Relatives, and friends' past/present reviews on companies. I learned the hard way.
Reply from Gary Nagle, Director at Professional Carers WirralDear D.W., thank you for taking the time to send this review and I am sorry to hear that your experience with Professional Carers was not a positive one. I do however wish to say that a lot of your claims are factually incorrect, and in isolation, with no evidence to support this. As a provider we did our very best to address your concerns however you failed to reply or engage with us on response. As an organisation, many of our service users are highly impressed and thankful for the amazing work provided by our frontline care teams [evidence of which can be shown]. We work hard to ensure our staff are delivering safe and effective care, in line with our core values. Our staff retention is high and turnover is low, likewise our staff do get paid if they over run on their calls, so I am unsure where you got this information from, which is incorrect. I wish you the best of luck with your new agency and hope they are able to fulfil your requirements.
Best wishes...

The maximum Review Score for a Home Care Provider is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.367 for Professional Carers Wirral is calculated as follows: ( (24 Excellents x 5) + (5 Poors x 2) + (1 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 30 Ratings = 4.367

  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Home Care Provider does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
