The gentleman who came to sit with my husband was very respectful, kind and understanding, my husband can be difficult (!!) but the carer calmed him down and my husband was happy for me to leave (never happens!)

My father is the main carer of my housebound mother. As such , he is compelled to also stay in their house. "Crossroads" offered help by sending a carer to sit with my mother and keep her company whilst I took my father out on day trips. They were very thorough in setting up the sessions. The women they sent were punctual, polite and friendly. It was a very helpful service and we are all thankful for the help they gave us.

After a few years of caring for Mom by myself her condition deteriorated and I realized I needed help, this was hard decision to make for Mom and myself letting strangers into my home to care for moms personal needs, Mom can't do anything for herself so it's a hard job , dressing washing transferring from bed to chair, pad changing toileting meals etc ,,we took the plunge and contacted adult services that didn't go too well, but then I came across crossroads, from my first enquiry I was asked a lot of questions all about moms needs and the families , I immediately knew they were going to be thorough, they helped me arrange the equipment that was needed and we all sat down together to talk about care plans no details were left out no questions unanswered, once our care started i felt a massive amount of relief, the ladies came in and out doing the hardest of jobs with ease , chatty friendly and very reassuring, we feel very comfortable letting these ladies into our lives thank you

My wife has dementia and is now housebound (my choice to keep her at home). I need to get out, and I was told about Crossroads. Had them for 6 weeks twice a week, what a help. Then I needed an odd day urgent, and they helped; they are very helpful and caring. I will pass information on to anyone who needs help with care.

Thank you all.

I am taking advantage of your 6 week respite arrangements. My wife has advanced Alzheimers and I am her carer. This is the first time we have been apart and I was nervous about the arrangement although I needed it. However having had the benefit of 3 visits from a particular carer so far I am very pleased with the outcome which has enabled me to have a break and also to do a few things requiring attention at home. My wife has been peaceful and relaxed under the carer's careful and warm company.

Thank you for your kind review. We are so pleased to hear that your anxieties about leaving your wife in someone else's hands have been relieved and that you both feel comfortable and happy with our care. It is so important that you are able to take a break, for your own health and wellbeing.

We have utilised a number of organisations to provide care to my relative. Crossroads stands head and shoulders above the rest.
The care staff almost always went above and beyond the basics. They were endlessly patient and gave freely to offer support. I always felt my relative was in good hands.
The staff were well organised and managed, suggesting a high degree of structure and dedication behind the scenes. We were always confident that the appropriate level of support would turn up on time, equipped to carry out their role.
None of this was straightforward in a time of staff shortages. It is to Crossroads' great credit that my relative's care was never compromised.

The key quality, however, was the ability of the carers to deliver care effectively, efficiently and professionally. In short, they delivered a caring service in a way that showed they genuinely cared.

Care is great, person centred, consistent staff and always friendly. Have a good rapport with everyone in the family and nothing is too much. The office is always friendly and there is always someone that answers and happy to support where they can. They escalate any concerns accordingly and feel relief knowing she is cared for when we can't be there.

Responded very quickly to an urgent need for care for my mom. They were all so lovely and friendly to speak to and they have given super help. They keep you fully up to date and informed. I cant really rate them highly enough. The only ever so slight downside is the need to download an app and go through quite a long process to get on the system so you can see any reports but even here they were super helpful - I must be getting old!

The carer was prompt and reliable. He tried to engage in conversation and probably had more response when I was not there. The carer gave me a brief resume of what the client had done whilst I was out and I think he felt surplus to requirements once I returned.

I would like to say thank you to all the team at Crossroads. My mother has on set of dementia and although I had worked within in the care industry many years ago, I found it very hard to making right decisions for mom. I'm so grateful for the support mom and I received. Staff were kind, trustworthy, always on time and always tidied up before they left. I know mom really enjoyed their visit's, thank you so much.

My husband received 6 weeks of respite breaks.

It was a relief that I could go out and do what I needed or wanted to do without having to worry about him falling and injuring himself while I was out. He has frontotemporal dementia. The sitter did some exercises and other activities with him and made lunch as explained to her by me beforehand. I really was and am appreciative of the scheme as a taster for longer term planning for the future.

My wife has early-onset Alzheimer's disease, we tried a care home and a day centre respite these did not work well for my wife, she could not cope with the number of people there.
From the visit from a member of staff to carry out an assessment of our needs to the actual visit of our carer. They have been friendly, caring, and professional.
I was getting very tired with the stress of caring for my wife and needed a rest. When our carer arrived she was brilliant with my wife and knew how to handle her mistrust. Just after two weeks (3 hours a day, three times a week) the wife is happy to see her and she is enjoying their time together. The wife's attitude to everything has improved.
I feel 100% better and happier in myself and I'm able to care for my wife with less stress.

I can highly recommend Crossroads.
