My review is for the entire time of using Shepshed carers, not just for the last month. Everyone from the lovely lady who answers the phone to every single carer who visits mum, I cannot speak highly enough. Every single carer has been absolutely fantastic, and mum has been very satisfied with the
care and support given. Nothing is too much trouble, and I recommend to all of my friends for their parents and loved ones too

My mother needed care but did not want any outside help. We persuaded her to talk to Shepshed Carers. She reluctantly agreed to have care initially for 2 times a day. The staff were excellent, they treated my mum with such care and respect that she looked forward to them coming and then viewed them
as friends. As a family, we found the support that we got from Shepshed Carers was exceptional, always there to help advise and to put my mum's needs first. When Mum needed additional care Shepshed Carers increased their visits to 3 times a day and again were excellent, professional and very caring. I'd like to thank them for the help they have given to my mum and us as a family. It meant that we could spend quality time with Mum.

Amazing!
Due to changes in circumstances recently and a dementia diagnosis, my mum needed help with personal care, medications and with her general well-being not being at its best my sister and I started asking around, did Google searches etc. and Shepshed carers seemed to have everything we were
looking for (We all want the best for our parents).
Mum was reluctant to accept help from strangers but as daughters, we were struggling to monitor and give the care mum really needed and whilst heartbreaking to accept help, we took the leap. We are 6 weeks into care and I have to say we are delighted with the care she is being given.
Every carer looks after her better than we could ever have imagined. Trustworthy, superb time keeping, communication excellent, dignified care.
Mum is really happy, she loves hearing about their lives, holidays and families.
The only thing I wish now is that we had acted sooner when we were at the stage of does she or doesn’t she need care.

I have been in the care of Shepshed Carers for several years. The carers are friendly, experienced and professional, which, in my opinion, are three of the most important factors when choosing carers. Any changes necessary to my care plan are always discussed with and agreed by me. The admin staff are

Shepshed Carers gave care to my mother for six years. The carers were always kind and caring towards my mother. Making sure I was aware of anything of concern. Communication was excellent, and we always felt listened to. At times of stress, when my mother was ill, the carers and the administration staff

I am so lucky to have Shepshed Carers looking after my parents; they are an absolute godsend. Handing over their care to strangers was very hard initially, as I thought, only I could do it properly; how wrong was I! Mum and Dad now regard all the girls as friends and having different faces to chat to
really gives Mum a lift. They've established a routine for them that I couldn't possibly have done. They are professional, respectful and 'human'. My father is a difficult person to deal with, but they have the measure of him and know just how to sort him out. They keep me up to date about any issues that they notice, and we work together to keep Mum and Dad safe and happy. I cannot praise them high enough. It's also been so helpful for myself to be able to pop into the office to chat and download with someone who understands when things get on top of me.

I live with my mother and have Shepshed Carers visit her three times daily. The patience, compassion and respect they show her at every visit are such a comfort to me. She looks forward to each and every visit. I am in complete awe of the way they make her feel so important and valued. Mum says her

My father has had carers from Shepshed Carers visit daily for four years. They are fab, and they are courteous, kind, helpful, caring and respectful of all of my dad's needs. My mum is happy with the service, and the team are really caring and helpful. She often speaks about the kindness and dedication of her carers. If Mum asks for anything to be done, the carers are really happy to help her. Mum’s care plan is reviewed annually, and her comments are taken seriously and
actioned. She is definitely involved with her care planning.
Despite the pandemic and what must have been a horrendous time for care providers, my mum has received a consistent quality of care. Thank you to everyone involved in my mum’s care.

Just started to use the service since Nov 21 (2-calls a day). We had no hesitation in asking Shepshed Carers to come into Mums home to help out.
They have been the ultimate professionals starting from the first phone call to the office asking for help (we have used them a few years ago for another
family member). To the original first call to talk through what they could do and what we felt we needed,
Now the service is in place, Mum is finding everyone very friendly and understanding of her needs and treating Mum with great dignity and respect with a lovely balance of being friendly and very helpful. We have peace of mind knowing that Mum now doesn’t have to struggle with certain aspects of self-care.
I would highly recommend Shepshed Carers if you or any member of your family need any support or assistance.

Lorraine is the Care Coordinator for the Shepshed area, which includes Hathern and Long Whatton.
