We have been receiving weekly visits from Crossroads for a number of years with the same carer for most of this time. As a result my wife has formed a strong friendship and very much values the time they have together to chat. The carer has been excellent at building a strong rapport with my wife recognising and understanding her issues and being supportive and caring throughout

Ellie, Geoff and Lorraine are my lifeline. They all encourage my uncle to do activities. I know I can go out for coffee and that he is well looked after. Without Crossroads, I would not have a life of my own, and my uncle would not be as happy as he is.

Reply from Magdalena Lopez, Registered Manager at Crossroads Care Surrey

We're delighted to hear that Crossroads provides you with the reassurance and support you need to have time for yourself, while knowing that your uncle is well cared for and happy. As a 24 hour carer for my husband, without Crossroads care I do not know where I would go for support. I have family, but always very busy and are very grateful for your support, as it takes pressure from them. Staff/carers are always very polite, caring and very understanding to my husband's needs, as he is reluctant to have any other form of care. Although he is very unwell, he remains quite independent but looks forward to Mondays and Thursdays to go out or just sit with him. I myself have to have carers and possibly have to have some surgery, so having any support removed will be unthinkable. So thank you for your ongoing support.

Our first carer was very good but left after about 9 months and we were then presented with a string of agency carers who were not very reliable but eventually a young lady for nearly a year until she moved on but now have another very good and reliable lady.

We have been receiving care from Crossroads for several years and my husband looks forward to meeting his carer each week. He is thoughtful, kind, humorous and very sensitive to our needs. Although I have been caring for twenty five years as my husband has MS, I am very grateful for help now that his needs have increased progressively and I am less able due to my own age and infirmity. We have now been assessed to need three visits from Crossroads each week and look forward to this when it is possible, to enable me to go out occasionally.

I have had my Crossroads carer for over 3 years. She's been extremely supportive to me and has demonstrated high level carer skills. She's a very warm, kind and easy to get on with. I enjoy her company very much and miss her when she is away. I look forward to her visits knowing that she's able to understand my needs. During her visits my husband gets the chance to undertake his own hobbies without having to worry about looking after me.
I am very grateful to Crossroads for providing me with such a competent carer.

Thank you.

We had a lovely lady sit with my mum for 3 hours each week so we could work or go out guilt free. Nothing was too much for this lady and on the very rare occasion she could not come one week, the communication was really good. We were very grateful for their help and professionalism.

My carer is always caring, kind, helpful and a person whom we welcome into our home and I have come to regard as a friend.
At the odd times when there is a need to contact my carer's Manager, the results are good as well.

Overall, it is well run.
