The staff at Candlelight Care have provided care and companionship to my elderly mother for several years; as I live in the north of England they kept me up to date with anything that I should be aware of such as medication and my mother's wellbeing. The carers themselves are so caring and friendly often going the extra mile to help my mother. The office staff who I dealt most with are lovely, they love what they do often in difficult circumstances. I thoroughly recommend Candlelight Wimborne to any relative of an elderly person who requires home care.

My chief carer is so good, that nothing escapes her, invaluable. When I ask for advice I know she will tell me the correct path to take. Staff are courteous and respectful. Dad is comfortable with the care he receives. There has been a struggle to get the time that most suits Dad's (and my) routines, this has now been resolved. Office staff are friendly, reliable and mostly ring is there is a problem. The email of who is coming and when to expect them is invaluable, helps prepare Dad and plan my day.

My mum is a relatively new client of Candlelight Care. Mum is elderly, blind and has very limited mobility. I live in Portugal, so far away. Mum had experienced some problems with a previous company but I managed to get her in with the Candlelight team and she is so happy now, they are all very loving, caring, hard-working and give Mum a sense of security. They offer such a professional service, Mum is looking forward to her first hairdo from the team soon, they can even do her nails. She says nothing is too much trouble to ask, she sounds so different when I talk with her over the phone, back to her cheerful self. Thank you Candlelight, you are all amazing.

The care my husband received from the first day was extremely gentle and caring. He had been apprehensive but from the first moment, he was put at ease and now looks forward to someone coming as do I! I also appreciate their tidiness and cleanliness.

The carers are largely really helpful and go above and beyond and Mum looks forward to them arriving. There is occasionally one who does the absolute minimum and rarely speaks. I appreciate they have a job to do but, when dealing with the elderly living alone, a large part of that job must be just talking to them.

Meet the Team (4)
Cheree joined Candlelight Care in September 2023 as one of 13 staff TUPE’d from another company. She had worked for her previous company for 14 years and had gained extensive knowledge in all areas of Domiciliary Care. In March 2023, she was promoted to Deputy Manager and in September 2023 was further promoted to Registered Manager.
Outside of work, Cheree likes to spend time with her Grandchildren.
Denise is a Community Team Manager and takes care of our clients in the community, assessing and reviewing their packages of care to make sure they are receiving the care they need and want, and that they are safe and happy.
Denise ensures that the clients have the same care staff visiting them on a regular basis.
When she is not working, she spends a lot of time with her two little grandsons.
As our Recruitment Officer, Roxanne (Roxy) helps us to find new care and support staff to look after our clients in their own homes. In addition to posting new jobs on job sites, social media, and other outlets, she attends recruitment fairs and is constantly looking for ways to improve our recruitment process. She supports our potential new employees from the moment they apply for a job until they are invited for an interview, answering their questions, chasing up CVs and applications, and sometimes meeting for an informal chat in person or on the phone.
Away from the office, Roxy is a member of the Mere Amateur Dramatics society, which puts on two productions a year in the Spring and Autumn. She has always loved performing and studied acting at the University, where she was able to tour regionally and internationally in their productions.
