Home Instead (Huntingdon)

My sister & I are beyond happy with the amazing care Home Instead Huntingdon provided for our Mum for nearly 4 years right up until her peaceful, dignified death at home aged 102. The carers go the extra mile and really do care. Not just the cleaning, shopping, feeding, washing and company etc (which is reliable and brilliant) but also the interest, the laughter and friendship and real true care from the heart. We feel lucky to have used them as did our Mum. A huge shoutout and thank you to the team and carers.

Overall my Mum's care is fantastic, she really appreciates the majority of her carers help. She can be impatient and critical at times, I would love to be a fly on the wall as I can only go on what she chooses to tell me. All my dealings with the office staff over the phone have been brilliant and requests are put in place as quickly as possible. Also my communications face to face with staff and carers has been supportive and reassuring. It's important to know that other people are in the same position as yourself or have had those experiences. Being the main person responsible for my Mum's health and happiness is a big worry, never really knowing if she gets enough..attention, food, physical care and emotional support, despite what she tells me. I read and appreciate the app but would love more details and perhaps some pointers for me?? Perhaps more than your remit though. Thank you

Most of the caring staff have been excellent or good, and having the same people most of the time has been greatly appreciated. The office staff are very helpful and immediately registered that my needs are for practical help with a variety of tasks. I find it difficult because of physical frailty, but so far, I remain in full command of my mental faculties and prize independence with individual family support. Independent conversation with carers is an important bonus.

Everyone at Home Instead was been both professional and human while they cared for my father. They brought warmth and humour into his home every day and maintained his dignity throughout. They also responded to his changing needs over the years they cared for him.

His carers were on time, and proactively looked for additional tasks if they finished early. The team was also flexible, providing us with additional care when we needed it.

All carers I have had contact with have been very pleasant and professional, plus my mum seems to get on well with them.

I am very satisfied with the services we receive from Home Instead. Friendly and very helpful support. We look forward to the twice-weekly visits.

My carers are a great bunch of girls now looked at as friends. Always treated with dignity (and humour)!

My husband was cared for for 5 years and his carers were all very good. Maintained his dignity and his care became more and more complex over time and they showed care and dignity.

Very professional service is provided with skilled, trained and mature staff. Strong levels of quality control and quality performance providing caring, tailored support to my parents. Everyone who has helped us has really committed to providing effective support in a caring way.

My Dad has been looked after for 3 years. The carers have been wonderful. They are very caring and many go above and beyond. They get my Dad up, washed, and dressed, do his meals, and help around the house. My Dad suffers from Alzheimer's and needs gentle encouragement. Home Instead has been excellent. I would highly recommend them.

Would just like to say a big thank you to the staff at Home Instead (Huntingdon) and especially the lovely carers who looked after our elderly relative. We all appreciated what you did for her. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Big thank you from us all.

I recently moved so that I was closer to my family, but given my age I needed more everyday support. This is where home care has proven invaluable and has exceeded all my expectations. I am thoroughly happy with the ladies who visit me and I highly recommend their services to anyone.

I am very happy with the care provided. It is always reliable and the carers are vert professional at all times. I never have any complaints.

Started using Homestead in July. Dad had a nasty fall in August and was in hospital for two weeks. Homestead was amazing giving me advice and cancelling appointments at very short notice and also not charging me. Once my dad was out of hospital they totally re-arranged his care to fit his new level of health, giving me peace of mind. Brilliant!.

Have used Home Instead for a few years now. They have always been a godsend for my elderly parents, now sadly just my father. Personally, as I work I find they have always been a company I can rely on for peace of mind. Carers often go above and beyond and live up to being 'carers' - they certainly deserve all the recognition they can get and are or should be the gold standard for all employees at Home Instead.

The care workers were punctual. Their behaviour was warm and friendly. They did their best to 'connect' with my mother. Although Mum did not speak very much, the carers did their best to talk to her whilst taking care of her. This enabled a relationship to be built. Their work was efficient, and they took on board areas that I felt my mother would benefit from. They advised me when I was unsure.

The carers were fantastic. Gave our amazing Mum exemplary care, love and mini adventures which she adored. They made my Mum happy. We cannot thank the team enough. All our deepest love and thanks.

We have been really happy with the care and support offered to my mother. All the carers are kind, helpful and listen to my mother's needs. They are happy to both carry out domestic chores and provide compassion. We cannot praise them more highly; they have been excellent as has the office staff who are professional but friendly and respond swiftly to any necessary changes in care.

From the word go, I felt confident using the Home Instead team to care for my mum. They had a wealth of practical support and ideas and were always there to reassure and comfort not only my mum but me too. They would go above and beyond the call of duty to resolve any unforeseen problems. They showed genuine care, love and support and became more than caregivers but like an extended family. They far exceeded all my expectations. For them, this is not a job, it's a vocation. I would be eternally grateful for all they have done for us.
