My Mum was with Home Instead for a few months and the stress they caused us as a family was horrendous. The caregivers, as a whole, were good but the office staff were rude and obnoxious. I asked them repeatedly for continuity of care that was promised on the day of assessment but when I brought this up with the manager I was told this never happened. The carers themselves were embarrassed and insisted the stress we were dealing with was unacceptable. They often left because of things they were having to tolerate. I could never raise a problem with the office as they would always make it appear I was wrong. The company made me feel this way. Everything I did or said I began to doubt myself so when a problem arose with particular carers, I just let things slide. Mum dreaded certain carers coming but when I asked for the care coordinator to visit and speak to Mum, again it never happened. Last but not least, a carer used the toilet whilst Mum was in the bathroom. Can’t be right, can it?

We are sorry to hear your dissatisfaction with our services. Our customers and their families are at the heart of what we do. Following our Care Co-ordinator speaking with you and visiting regularly, conversations with our Care Manager and Operational Manager on several occasions, changing and setting your visit times despite the very rural location, reducing your carers to a much smaller team than usual and two full reviews with your social worker we felt we had resolved these concerns. We always strive for a high quality, individual service and many amendments were made and requests met. However we are very sorry on this occasion we have not met all your particular expectations and wish you well with your new care provider.

The office staff and management were always helpful and accommodating when times needed to be changed. I would be happy to recommend Home Instead to anyone who needs care for a friend or relative.

I have employed quite a few care providers up to this date and I can honestly say that Home Instead (Lytham, Fylde & Wyre) ranks the highest of them all as far as I am concerned. I find that I can rely on and trust not only the carers they send but the office staff as well. A lot of care is taken in the first instance to match you with a particular team of carers that will complement your personality, likes and dislikes. If they make the wrong choice, which is not very often, then one phone call to the office is needed to put the matter right. Home Instead (Lytham, Fylde & Wyre) care about their clients, not just for them. As far as I am concerned, the best thing about this organisation is that you get the same carers consistently. I am able to get to know my carers and so my trust and confidence grows, not only in them but in myself too.

I oversee the whole operation of running Home Instead South Lakes, Home Instead Lytham, Fylde & Wyre and Home Instead Preston & South Ribble, including the Care Professionals, Office Support Team, the Senior Leadership Team and a network of external contacts who help support our business and clients. I have been assessed by the CQC as competent to hold Registered Manager status for the business, which I share with Judy Clay, Director, who is also a Nominated Individual with the CQC. I completed Level 5 Management and Leadership in Adult Social Care in 2022, which is the qualification needed to hold Registered Manager status in England.
I am fully responsible for overseeing a Caring, Responsive, Effective, Well-led and Safe Domiciliary care business, ably supported by the Senior Leadership Team and Office Support Team.
I also oversee the Safeguarding Team, which ensures all Care Professionals are kept up to date and trained on all Safeguarding protocols. I am the Privacy Champion for all data protection matters in the business.
I love my role and working with the whole Team to ensure our Care Professionals can all deliver exceptional care to all our clients in the South Lakes community. I am so proud that we have been rated ‘OUTSTANDING’ with the CQC since we began, and our 10 rating on homecare.co.uk.
Our business has grown significantly since I joined in 2020, and we are adapting and listening to our Care Professionals and clients to continue to deliver OUTSTANDING care to enable people to Live Well Their Way in our community!
