From the first meeting with Bluebird we have had a very professional and high level of service throughout. The care, companionship delivered by all the staff is exemplary and we would recommend them to anyone in need of care. When I visited my parents, it was always a great source of pleasure to hear the staff chatting away with my parents, to the staff it is a vocation not a job.

I (we) have been 100% happy with every "care assistant" that has been to our home. In fact when they arrive I tell Tony - our friends have arrived.

The ongoing care my father is receiving is exemplary. The carers really do care. My father has a giggle with them. It is very helpful that as well as excellent physical care the social element is also a focus, including playing scrabble and card games. I recommend Bluebird for anyone seeking care for their relatives or themselves

The Bluebird team supported our mum over the last 10 months with personal care. The carers were unfailingly kind, respectful and helpful in every possible way. They also reported any particular concerns they picked up during visits with both our parents. In addition, Managers were incredibly supportive towards our family generally during several worrying periods concerning our parents' ill health, contacting us by email and phone calls. Our family are grateful for the excellent care provided.

From the very first meeting to the start of Care and throughout we had excellent service. All the staff were so nice and helpful to both me and my wife and no task was too much trouble. We used the service for 3 weeks after my Permanent Pacemaker insertion as I was unable to care for my wife during this time.
We have no hesitation in recommending Bluebird locally and have already done so to several people including our Lodge Manager.
We will call on Bluebird again in the new year if we need them after the second part of my procedure.

Thank you to everyone

My experience with the service is more than satisfactory - no problems along the way - although with no disrespect to anyone - I do prefer female attendants to do the job.

I needed care for approximately 3 months following an accident which meant I was primarily bed bound.
The staff that attended were very patient -focussed and well trained. They always asked what my option was and what I wished them to do in order to be helpful.
I found their regular visits gave structure to an otherwise mundane day and always left me feeling positive.
Although I shall miss them , I feel I have been given the confidence I need to regain independence.
I have no hesitation recommending Bluebird Care.

Thank you .

I cannot begin to put into words how amazing the team are at Bluebird. My mother was diagnosed with vascular dementia & she eventually needed home help so I could continue to work myself & keep her safe in her home, with me, for longer. She made some amazing connections during this time, as did I and although my Mothers behaviour deteriorated over time, I was always confident in the knowledge that she was safe & in the best company possible. I will forever be thankful for all the compassion, understanding & respect that was given to my mother & I during the most hardest point in both our lives.

Bluebird started visiting my father for an hour a day in April 2024 to support him as dementia developed and he was living on his own. Their principal role was to ensure medication was taken each day and do a welfare check on him to give me peace of mind. My father was extremely hostile initially to accepting the care visits, but within a couple of weeks their gentle and consistent attendance, often with the same carer, saw him come around and start to enjoy their company and rely on them more and more. We cannot recommend the care and service Bluebird provided to my father highly enough. We were extremely impressed that when we did have to terminate the contract to move my father into residential care Bluebird even waived a week's fees for us. Our experience was that everyone at Bluebird genuinely cares for the individuals and families they are looking after.

I cannot recommend Bluebird Care highly enough in the way they look after my 95 year old mum who has dementia and lives at home. We can access the care notes on a daily basis via the app, the staff are always very attentive and mum really looks forward to their 3 times daily visits. They have helped her overcome her fears about assisting her with her personal hygiene in a very patient and sympathetic way. My main contact, who is very understanding of the family issues involved when dealing with dementia.

Keep up the great work and thank you so much

John and Suzzanne ElgarJob Title:DirectorsJoined: 2008
Husband and wife Team John and Suzzanne are passionate believers that high quality consistent care at home should be available and accessible to everyone as a basic right.
The decision to move into provision of care came about after a family member became more dependant and requires significant care.
'Without my grandmother, the idea of a service which emulates what you would expect for your family would never have come into fruition and the idea of running a care service, let alone an' Outstanding' one, would never have occurred to us' says Suzzanne.

The care offered in a pm e cases was not of a good standard and this lead to a partnership with Bluebird Care who we feel hold the same standards and core beliefs surrounding care provision as ourselves.

John brings to Bluebird Care a wealth of business experience having spent the last 25 years in the IT industry working for and with a large number of global companies providing business and sales solutions for a wide range of customers. John provides business operational skills to the Bluebird Care Cherwell team.

Suzanne comes from a financial background working within some of the major financial institutions before having a career break to establish a family unit. She has also worked within the community as a volunteer worker and really understands the difference good quality care in familiar surroundings can have on the individual concerned.

When I was 14 years old, I realised I wanted to build a career helping others, inspired by my own personal experiences. This passion led me to study Social Work, and I graduated with a Bachelor's Honours Degree in Social Care while living in Hungary. My first role was as a Hotel Receptionist, where I developed strong customer service skills and discovered a passion for learning languages. I currently speak four languages and am learning my fifth. Two years later, I moved to England to work as a Health Care Assistant in a nursing home. Although it was a big change, I quickly discovered how much I loved working in care. After two years, I was promoted to Senior Health Care Assistant, where I supported customers, led the care team and delivered staff training. After nearly four years, I wanted a new challenge and began working with children with disabilities, something I continue to do in my own time. In 2023, I joined Bluebird Care and discovered how rewarding domiciliary care can be. Supporting customers to remain independent in their own homes has been an incredibly fulfilling experience. I started as a Care Supervisor, and since then I have progressed into the role of Care Manager, where I now have the privilege of supporting both our customers and our fantastic care team. I am passionate about continuous learning and believe there is always something new to discover. I enjoy developing my own knowledge while supporting others to grow, ensuring we continue to provide the highest standard of care to our customers.

I moved to France from Italy in 2014 and then to the UK in 2015, driven by my passion for learning new languages and experiencing different cultures. I am now trilingual and continue to learn Spanish as my fourth language. From a young age, I have always enjoyed helping others and being involved in my community. I have a background in hospitality and completed my diploma in Hospitality while living in France, which gave me the opportunity to travel across Europe and gain valuable life and professional experiences. After working in hospitality, I wanted to make a more meaningful difference in people’s lives, which led me to join Bluebird Care as a Care Assistant. In just over a year, I progressed to Field Support Supervisor, where I supported and mentored care assistants, helping them develop their skills and reach their full potential. I have continued to grow within Bluebird Care and have now progressed into the role of Care Coordinator. I enjoy supporting both our customers and care team, ensuring that care is delivered safely, consistently and to the highest standard. I look forward to continuing my journey with Bluebird Care and making a positive impact on the lives of the people we support.

My name is Marko, and my first experience in care was when I volunteered one summer at a Red Cross Day centre. I absolutely loved my time there and the company of the people who attended the centre. I then studied Pharmacology at Portsmouth University to further my education and now hold a degree in Pharmacology. Once I completed University, I found employment in a customer-facing role where I stayed for 6 years, as I really enjoy meeting new people and that human connection. When COVID hit and we went into lockdown, I was placed on furlough. This gave me time to reflect and made me realise that I wanted to do something more with my life and really help people, which was why I made the decision to go into care, and I have never looked back. After researching local companies, I first joined a small company to gain valuable experience, and then once the opportunity at Bluebird Care presented itself was an easy decision for me. Having personally known John and Suzanne through being a friend of their son for many years, I knew how dedicated they were to helping people in their local community. From the first day that I came in to meet the team at my interview, there was a great energy within the team and a sense of unity that I knew I wanted to be a part of.

My name is Megan, and I grew up watching my mum thrive in the care sector, which has always been a significant source of inspiration for me. When my Gramp was diagnosed with Cancer, I witnessed the profound impact that Katherine House Hospice had on him, which further fuelled my passion to pursue an opportunity where I could care for people in the local community. Since beginning my career within Health and Social Care, I have worked for another Care agency, but was keen to find a company that aligned with my own values and career goals. After joining Bluebird, my outlook on the care industry was completely transformed. It ignited a spark in me. I find tremendous fulfilment and passion in providing care and support. I started my career as a Care Assistant, quickly progressing to a Senior Care Assistant and then onto my current role as a Field Support Supervisor. This role allows me to support our Care Assistants in all aspects of their roles, helping them grow and develop their skills to become exceptional Care Assistants.

The care industry can be tough, which is why I strive to provide the best possible support for all our Care Assistants to ensure they feel confident and competent in going out and excelling in their roles. Bluebird Care has played a vital role in growing my career. The best decision I made was joining such a hardworking and dedicated team. Care is truly at the heart of what we do.

Joanna Rolt
Joanna RoltJob Title:Care SupervisorJoined: 2025

My name is Joanna, and I have worked within the care industry since I was 18 years old. I first started out as a domestic cleaner in a care home. I found myself spending more time supporting the residents and offering to help. I ended up being offered a shadow shift as a care assistant. It was never a job I saw myself doing as a teen, but since that day, I haven’t looked back and love the job. It’s been amazing hearing about people’s life stories and experiences. I have learnt more about war history from residents and customers than I ever did at school. As I didn’t really enjoy school, I found it easy to expand my qualifications within the job role, as it was learning about something I enjoyed doing and coming to work never felt like work. Once I got married and started a family of my own, my husband’s job meant we travelled a lot, and with this, I gained more experience and training from many different care organisations.

Once we settled in Bicester, I started off working for Bluebird Care back in 2018 and loved their training program, nothing like I had ever received before. As we covered a big area, at the time, it was a great way to get to know the area we had just moved to. Unfortunately, COVID hit, and I felt the need to be home with my family. After taking some time out but still working on my knowledge, training and qualifications while working elsewhere in care, I made the move to return. I love being back, and I’m pleased to be returning as Care Supervisor so I can share everything I know with the forever-growing Bluebird Care team.

My career in health and social care started when I was 20 years old, and from the very beginning, I knew I had found something I was passionate about. I’ve always wanted to know I make a difference in someone’s life, and seeing the way we benefit our customers gives me exactly that. I first worked for Bluebird Care before deciding to widen my knowledge and experience within the care industry. During that time, I developed my skills, gained valuable experience, and strengthened my passion for supporting others.

Returning to Bluebird Care as a Trainer felt like coming home. I’m passionate about supporting and developing our care teams so they can provide the highest standard of care to our customers. The care industry can be tough and emotional at times, but with a team like ours behind you, it makes it so fulfilling, and I’m so proud and happy to be part of such a wonderful and supportive team. One of the things I love most about working in care is the connection we build with our customers every day. Being able to make a positive difference in someone’s life, while helping them remain comfortable and independent in their own home, is the most rewarding part of what we do.
