Caremark Wandsworth is committed to providing the highest standards of home care, supporting people to live independently, safely, and with dignity in their own homes.

Support is provided to adults of all ages, including older people and younger adults with physical and/or learning disabilities. Each individual’s needs are carefully listened to, and care is tailored accordingly.

Services range from companionship and practical support around the home to more intensive personal care. Support can be arranged flexibly, from occasional visits of an hour or two per week to regular or full-time care, depending on individual needs.

Continuity of care is a key priority. Wherever possible, clients are supported by a consistent team of care workers who are fully trained, carefully vetted, and enhanced DBS checked. Care staff are selected for their professionalism, reliability, compassion, and commitment to providing personalised care.

To maintain the highest quality standards, regular unannounced spot checks, ongoing supervision of care staff, and routine care reviews with clients and their families are carried out. This ensures care remains safe, responsive, and aligned with changing needs.

We are very happy with the care provided by this agency. The level of commitment, kindness and consistency have been excellent, both by the actual carers and the management.

My husband's carers looked after him and me for three and a half years. They were outstanding in their care. They were professional, kind, intelligent, caring, fun and very loving to my husband. He lived at least a year longer than expected due to the standard of their care. They became like family
and my family and I will be forever grateful that they were part of our lives during this special time. It took a team of more than ten carers to look after him over this period of time. We could not have had better and I would recommend this team to anyone.
Reply from James McCallum, Managing Director at Caremark WandsworthThank you so much for your heartfelt feedback, Kathryn. It was a privilege to care for your husband, and to help improve his quality of life over his last three and a half years.

I feel very fortunate to have found Caremark Wandsworth on the web. The service manager was efficient, kind and friendly in her first introductory visit. The carer who came for several months was always punctual and reliable, working on homemaking chores I urgently needed done while having no-weight-bearing
casts and in a wheelchair. I especially appreciated, living alone and a bit isolated in the casts, that the carer who came was intelligent and an easy, charming conversationalist, making having someone in my flat really a pleasure - as well as a necessity! Management of invoices and changes in schedule I needed were always handled efficiently and professionally, and the contact person on the phone always friendly with a can-do attitude. The cost was reasonable. When I need to have my next complicated foot surgery Caremark will be the first home care resource I will call up!
Reply from James McCallum, Managing Director at Caremark WandsworthThank you, Ron, for your feedback. I’m pleased that we provided a high level of continuity of care with the same carer, who was therefore really able to understand your needs.

I was given the contact for Caremark by a friend as they were not on a list forwarded to me by Wandsworth. I have not regretted it. The carers for my mother have been kind and understanding and shown great empathy with my mum who can be difficult at times. Always cheerful, professional and responsive
to mum's needs.
Reply from James McCallum, Managing Director at Caremark WandsworthMany thanks, Bill, for your comments: it was great that our carers were able to bring a smile to your mother’s face!

We have been using Caremark for over 2 years now, recently my mother had a number of hospital appointments that required us to change the times of visits so as to fit in with transport arrangements etc. Nothing was too much trouble. Caremark were only too happy to work in with our arrangements. In addition,
we love that mums carers work on a rota of 4-5 carers so that they really understand and get to know mum who loves the routine and in addition to the care enjoys the chat and interesting conversations that she has. Thank you, Caremark.
Reply from James McCallum, Managing Director at Caremark WandsworthThank you very much, S P, for your kind comments. We all enjoyed caring and supporting Mum.

I have nothing but praise for the high standard of care my Dad received. We especially appreciated the continuity of care provided, which became more and more important as Dad's memory problems worsened. Dad had one primary carer, with a second carer introduced as he needed more help and a third on
hand to offer additional cover when necessary, so that he got to know all three of them well. They were all so kind and felt genuine affection for Dad, which I'm sure was returned. The management and staff in the office were very helpful and supportive. All in all, the staff at Caremark (Wandsworth) helped to make the stress and anxiety which inevitably accompanies caring for an elderly parent much more manageable.
Reply from James McCallum, Managing Director at Caremark WandsworthThank you, Pippa, for these very kind comments. Our carers enjoyed visiting your Dad, and helping to improve his well-being through really getting to know him well and understanding his needs.

Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
My mother received care from Caremark (Wandsworth) for the final 5 months of her life. Initially, she was cared for by one main carer, who showed her enormous kindness and respect, took her work seriously and always came with a lovely smile that cheered my mother greatly. She was thorough and meticulous.
My mother and the carer developed a very warm bond that really helped all of the family as the end drew near.

Latterly, when more visits by more carers were required, I felt that my mother's needs were meant with warmth and humanity by the Caremark carers. I have great admiration for the women who do this job and am extremely grateful to them for the care they provided. I feel we were so lucky.

Reply from James McCallum, Managing Director at Caremark WandsworthThank you, Susannah, for your feedback. I’m very happy that your mother’s carer provided care and support with a cheery smile, helping to improve her wellbeing in her last few months.

My mother found the carer's she had very friendly and reliable. They always reported any concerns immediately to the office. My mother's needs were not for personal care as much as for ensuring she had taken her tablets and was eating three times per day. Some young carers need more training in managing
rotation of food in the refrigerator, checking sell-by dates. When opening foods such as packets of ham and cheese, they should ensure they are wrapped to avoid cross-contamination and also ensuring they are not left for a person with memory loss eats them after 3 days. Communication between the different carers is essential in this regard.
Reply from James McCallum, Managing Director at Caremark WandsworthCaremark (Wandsworth) welcomes feedback from clients on the quality of its service.

All our carers receive thorough training on food hygiene and safety. Our carers are fully aware of the importance of food hygiene/safety in particular with clients with memory loss. The implication of the comments by the daughter of our client is that our carers know nothing about food hygiene/safety, which is incorrect. We admit that there was an isolated instance of an item being in the fridge beyond its use by date. We took immediate action to refresh the food safety training of the carer responsible, and thereby improve the safety of our service. We, therefore, believe that this issue has been given disproportionate emphasis in the review; consequently there is relatively little weight attached to the view that "my mother found that the carer's (sic) she had very friendly and reliable". We, therefore, feel that the review is misleading.

Caremark Wandsworth have been providing extra 24/7 care for my father during the last 18 months. They have delivered outstanding care, with incredibly dedicated staff who have gone way beyond the call of duty. they have been extremely professional, caring and compassionate.
The staff have become like
family members. One never felt as though the staff were not giving 110%. It is a sign of the calibre of their team that some would visit my father whilst they were in annual leave. Simply put, brilliant carers. thank you.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Home Care Provider is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.868 for Caremark Wandsworth is calculated as follows: ( (46 Excellents x 5) + (7 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 53 Ratings = 4.868

  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Home Care Provider does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
