My husband was in the hospital for two weeks in August, then was discharged home for 6 weeks rehabilitation by a care agency, arranged through Social Services. The standard of personal care given by their caregivers was good but they did not encourage my husband to move independently. After 8 weeks in bed, his muscles were very weak. Home Instead caregivers then returned - they have cared for my husband for 7 years. Within two weeks of their return, his muscle strength was improving because they gave him confidence and had the patience to allow him to do what he could still do although he is blind and has complex health needs. These needs are always managed to a high standard by the team of carers who come in pairs four times every day. The administrative and management teams have the same standards. We both appreciate this very much. Through their dedication, I am supported so that husband can be cared for in his own home and to date has not needed to become a resident in a care home.
The carers provide a professional service ensuring all the tasks on the care plan are completed to the highest standard, but not only that they do so with care and compassion. Nothing seems to be too much trouble, whether that's sitting and chatting, helping with personal care or spending time looking at old photo's or doing puzzles. The team in the office are equally brilliant as they organise last minute support when a washing machine engineer needs to visit with less than 24 hours notice or arranging to take our grandmother to the dentist for a check-up. And all this is done with a smile!
Many thanks for your kind review. Your grandmother is a lovely lady and our CAREGivers always look forward to their visits with her.
The staff in the office and the carers who support my mum are professional and always keen to help my mum and give us advice when will ask for it. My mum was totally against having carers in her home and we hadn't had good experiences with 2 other agencies we had used, then a friend recommended Home Instead. The difference was amazing, my mum soon accepted her carers and my mum now tells us, her friend is visiting if we phone when a carer is with her. At the beginning of lockdown, we found it difficult to get antibacterial wipes etc, one of my mum's carers brought her some. Before lockdown Home Instead had arranged and were taking my mum to social afternoons which she really enjoyed. I highly recommend Home Instead to anyone needing support in their home.
Many thanks for your kind words. The CAREGivers find it an absolute pleasure to care for your mum. We hope to resume the social afternoons as soon as we are able.
My very elderly father is still able to live in his own home, as he wishes, with the help of the Home Helps who visit him 6 days a week. They keep his house clean and tidy but most of all they provide friendship and companionship as Dad is not very mobile and does not leave the house. He calls the carers ‘my friends’ and is always pleased to see them. They make his lunch and check that he is OK and provided for and have contacted the doctor when he was feeling unwell. I live some distance away and knowing that he receives such care makes me feel more confident in his well-being. The office staff too have also been very helpful and friendly and they keep me well informed. Thanks to you all!
If Home Instead (Wavetree S Liverpool) featured on Trip Advisor it would, without doubt, feature as the top care provider in Liverpool.
After 2 days it was clear that the care offered was wholly inadequate. We recontacted Home Instead and the assistant care manager has coordinated, within a couple of days, a full care package and Mum is now back receiving the care she deserves. What greater testimony is there than people proffering to pay rather than get care for free.
which is flexible and accommodating.
I'm not looking forward to old age but when the time comes Home Instead will, without doubt, be my service provider.
Great Service!!!
I've no complaints, caregivers come regularly and on time. I get a rota telling me who is going to come. I get on really well with the caregiver team, even though I am a Liverpudlian and a couple of the carers are Evertonians! We have a good chat.
