Avelo Care generally and the director, in particular, have been outstanding. I have had many issues with my mum being in hospital and navigating the whole care system and without the truly amazing support of the director and the operations manager, I don't think I could have coped with the stress of
the situation. What is also great is that, as a team, they communicate with each other and so I am confident that when I talk to any member of the team I am talking to them all. Also, they are completely professional and they take their role as carers very seriously. I am confident that I have chosen a great company to look after my mum. Thank you Avelo!

Highly professional and caring staff who will go the extra mile. Staff take my mother-in-law on hospital visits and have recently started to take her shopping and for afternoons out. At 89, she had almost given up and become housebound (not far off bedbound) but the Avelo staff have turned the downward
spiral in the other direction. Now she is going out looking for a Christmas jumper and even enjoyed her first ever fast food meal. Brilliant.

Mum has benefitted hugely from the warm and friendly visits from Avelo staff over the past year. She has particularly enjoyed playing cards with the ladies, as she could no longer go to her Bridge Club. I have also benefitted because I knew that someone was keeping an eye on her when I couldn’t be there.
We are very sad to say goodbye, but Mum is going into residential care now.
I would highly recommend this service to anyone looking for kind, compassionate, personalised care in their own home.

I was worried I would need to put my nan in a care home as I was struggling to look after her by myself. My nan has dementia, Avelo Care then stepped in and took on my nan's case, this enabled her to stay at home and still continue to get care.
I can not thank Avelo Care staff enough! They are kind,
hard-working, thoughtful and work to such a high standard.
I have gone from being a full-time carer, to now being a granddaughter again. All thanks to them! My nan has formed strong bonds with them all, but special credit to a particular carer! She really goes above and beyond. So thank you!

My experience with Avelo Care’s management and care staff has been with regard to lunch-time provision for one of their clients who has severe and painful physical disabilities, and also some degree of mental impairment causing fluctuations of mood and empathy for others.
On the several occasions
that I have observed and spoken with a variety of carers, I have been impressed with their consistent patience, kindness, friendliness and respect for this client.
Care has been provided above and beyond the essential requirements of preparing and serving lunch, particularly when this client has been confined to her bed. Additionally, my experience of the management of this organisation has been excellent. Responsive communication and organisation, combined with a humane, caring and practical approach have inspired confidence in the service provided for my friend at this extremely difficult stage of her life.
You have my heartfelt thanks and appreciation.

The Avelo team have been looking after my husband who was very reluctant to have any help. He now looks forward to going out with the carers and enjoys a good sing song and joining in conversation. This allows me quality time to go shopping or just meet friends for coffee, knowing he is safe and well

As a caring family, we were worried about carers being kind to Dad. We shouldn’t have been as I can honestly say all the care he has received has been amazing.
Such kind and caring people. Always have time for Dad and treat him with such dignity. Notice things as in a swollen leg. This means they

I would recommend Avelo Care. The carers who came in to provide support for my elderly mother were always professional, caring, personable and nothing was too much trouble. My wife and I have been receiving care and support from the lovely carers at Avelo for a number of years. We look forward to their visits each day. We started with one visit a day to support at mealtimes and over time this has now increased to 3 visits a day to help with getting up and getting ready
for bed. My wife and I never thought we would need help and it took a while to accept we needed a little help but the whole team have made it easy and now we could not manage without them.

Everyone at Avelo has been very caring and supportive. The carers were always friendly and helpful and Mum looked forward to them coming. Initially, Mum only needed general support a few times a week. However, as Mum began to need daily care, she got to know the carers well and liked them all. I found
that Avelo was very flexible and whenever I phoned requiring some extra help (e.g. taking mum to her GP or for a Covid jab) the office staff always managed to provide a solution, sometimes at short notice. In particular, I found that their phone App was brilliant for reviewing visit notes to keep up to date with how Mum was doing as I live 120 miles away. I can't thank Avelo enough for the care and security that they provided for Mum.

I have been very happy with the at home care package which Avelo provided for my mum of 94 who has dementia. Avelo has provided care and companionship since July 21. Although she did not need any personal care, the carers provided emotional and practical help. Continuity was important for Mum to see/recognise
the same carers and overall, this was maintained. The management of the service has been excellent. There have been occasions when we had to ask the team to go over and above their duties and they stepped up to the mark every time. In summary, Avelo provide a reliable, professional, caring and supportive service to Mum, my sister and I.

We have been so lucky to have Avelo supporting my mother over the last year, having set up care sessions to support us with hospital discharge. The manager has always been at the end of the phone to provide me and my family honest and valuable guidance and support, something which we will always be
grateful for. The carers who visit have been fantastic in bringing Mum back out of her shell after her stroke last year and building her confidence to get out of her home and enjoy her social sessions. I would have no reservations in recommending their services and the genuine care they have given us.

I can’t express enough how great Avelo Care have been with my mum. They have been making companionship visits to Mum twice a week for the last 6 months, which Mum has really enjoyed and found engaging. The staff at Avelo Care have always been very caring towards Mum and now that she has gone into a
care home, she will really miss them. I would absolutely recommend them.

My father came out of hospital, following a lengthy stay, with an assessment period of care. When that came to an end, my father and I used the guidance provided by the assessment team and interviewed several potential providers. We chose Avelo based on their presentation, flexibility, and availability.
They were not the least expensive, but we felt most comfortable with their offer. In truth, I am so glad we did! Dad's care needs gradually increased as his mobility declined. Avelo were brilliant at meeting those needs, nothing was too much trouble, prepared to arrive early or stay late, put on extra shifts as required all with kindness, skill, and humour. Also, we put in additional longer companionship sessions for Dad which he grew to love as the carers talked with him, played cards and dominoes, and did the crossword together. Sadly, dad's health rapidly declined and he sadly died in March. The support for him and the wider family at this time was invaluable.

I am the husband of your client and I cannot praise your services highly enough - from management through to office staff to the visiting carer it has been first class - for me it allowed me time to go out knowing my wife was in safe and caring hands. Avelo gave me freedom of the worry of 24-hour caring
and my wife (Parkinson's and Dementia) looks forward to the visits.

Shaun Parr

Shaun is responsible for the day-to-day operations and service delivery at Avelo Care to ensure we meet our regulatory requirements as well as maintain our status as the care provider and care employer of choice in East Kent. Shaun is the CQC Responsible Individual for Avelo Care Services


Shaun has over 15 years of experience in the care sector, in roles mainly focussing on quality assurance, compliance and operational management. Shaun has worked at the Board level for some of the largest homecare providers in the UK and more recently has been supporting smaller organisations in consultancy and turnaround roles, achieving high levels of success in each of those appointments.


Shaun holds a Human Resources Degree as well as a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care.

She is very much the face of Avelo and provides a great deal of support to clients and their families as well as supporting our wider care team, very much a key role in our business.

Nikki has worked in the Care sector for 12 years. Before joining Avelo Care, she managed 2 Day Centres, the first a secure Dementia Unit with up to 20 clients visiting daily, and the second a Social Day Centre that catered for 60 clients daily.


Nikki is responsible for the onboarding of new clients, right through from the initial enquiries, to setting up the care package and introductions within the wider care team.


Nikki holds an NVQ Level 5 in Leadership for Health & Social Care.

Rebecca English

Rebecca is in her 13th year working within the health and social care sector, previous roles have included residential settings and working within SecAMB as an emergency medical advisor.

Rebecca joined Avelo in 2017 as a community carer, progressing into her current role as a Care Quality Officer in June 2024. Rebecca supports the operational team and completes quality assurance, reviews, care plan updates and compliance checks to ensure our service delivery is the highest standard it can be.


Rebecca has completed her level 4 diploma in adult health and social care and is also a trainer for manual handling and mental health well-being.
