After a hour of arriving her manner and attitude suddenly changed.
This carer decided to call the police, who came under her request. I was threatened with arrest, and told I had to leave our home for allegedly mistreating my wife? An absolute untruth. No consideration was given to the fact that my wife has advancing dementia and the ability to fabricate stories and often hallucinates, but thankfully these allegations were dismissed by the police as they confirmed there was nothing for them to pursue. However, I still had to leave our home on a cold winters night or face being arrested.
Upon returning next morning, my front door open, with my usual carer present, another woman from the care company, an unknown night sitter, an adult social care worker and another two police officers in my home.
I was not allowed to see or speak to my wife upon her departure from our home without pleading.
My wife was removed from our home, by ambulance that afternoon and taken somewhere which I was not allowed to know. Neither were her friends, or blood relatives.
That location was kept secret until I engaged a solicitor to find her. This was an absolutely cruel, inhumane act, and left me totally devastated and feeling destroyed by these actions, we had never been separated in nearly 40 years , and over the Christmas and New Year made it an even worst experience. As if my wife's diagnosis's were not hard enough to deal with, then this.
I located my wife on the 7th. January 2026. Thanks to my solicitor. I have been at her side, every day since , holding her hand.
Thank you for your review. We are sorry that you found these events distressing.

I've been with Tamar for over a year now and the staff are wonderful. They take care of me to the best of their ability and are very patient and most of all the nicest carer's I have known. Nothing is to much trouble for them and even though they are very busy they take the time to make sure I'm settled before they leave. In all honesty I couldn't do without them and they need more recognition for all the work they do. Thank you so very much.
Thank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to share your experience with us. We're truly delighted to hear that you feel well cared for and supported by our team. Our carers always strive to provide compassionate, person-centered care, and it means a great deal to...
Tamar Homecare is a really good company ,I would recommend them to anyone .If I had any complaints with the carer's I would tell them and get in touch with the office ,but I have no complaints ,the carers come in as strangers but leave as friends and it's like having an extended family ,love them all . Keep up the good work ladies .xxx
I changed to tamar as I heard nothing but good things about them, they definitely lived up to their name. Nothing is ever too much, they are able to support me to the community and my two regulars have become part of the furniture in my family home. I couldn't be without tamar in my life and I look forward to them coming every day. Thank you tamar homecare
Tamar staff are very flexible and understanding. They go the extra mile to accommodate changes in times and routines. Struggling with our own health issues, they are a very welcome help and they do a great job of taking care of our grown up son who has cerebral palsy and is wheelchair bound.
Tamar Care are providing wonderful personal care for my husband. He has always been very independent and at first was alarmed, at needing help with intimate things, but their positive, helpful attitude and patience has won him over. Without their help, life would be more of a struggle for both of us, especially when he isn't well. It is helpful having the same group of carers coming at regular times, but even if a carer is coming who we do not know, we are now confident that they will be competent and friendly, having experienced a few months now of Tamar Care and the quality of their carers.
What a wonderful company. Got recomended Tamar Care by a social worker who couldn't speak more highly Of them.
Approachable and helpful office team, Manager personally called me to see how things are getting on and if there was any help needed with anything.
Takes the pressure off Myself and my family knowing dad is so well looked after day in and day out and just so happy and smiling. He speaks so highly of his care team.
I want to thankyou Tamar Care from the bottom of my heart
The carers are always cheerful and put up with my husband's bad jokes. It's nice that we have mostly the same 4 or 5 carers each week, as he does like his routine. They take the time to talk to him as they are completing his personal care, which is good as otherwise it's mostly just myself that chats to him.
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts on our care services. We're delighted to hear that our carers bring a spark of joy to you and your husband's day. We look forward to our continued journey with you and your husband, hopefully sharing many more laughs along the way.
Everything fine and going well. Timing of visits are good. Prefer regular carers, but not always possible. Good to be able to chat and build relationships with the carers.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with us. We are pleased to hear that our service has been meeting your expectations.
Everybody tries their best to ensure I have a good standard of care. There have been some frustrating things that happen from time to time, for example, there is a lack of consistency due to the high number of carers assigned to me. This is more prevalent when people are on holiday, which is understandable. Overall, I am happy but I think care providers need to understand how it feels to be cared for by someone who lacks experience. Obviously, it’s a collaborative relationship in which I have responsibility towards how I’m cared for but as someone who has fatigue, it’s exhausting having to explain what needs to be done to new carers so often. However, it takes time to get used to being cared for so I am sure things will keep improving.
We understand the concerns you've expressed regarding the lack of consistency due to the rotation of carers. We know how important it is to build a strong, familiar bond with caregivers, especially in a domiciliary...
