I know I can rely on the Bluebird staff who look after my mother to make decisions in her best interests. They gently encourage her to eat and drink appropriately. Whilst she may not always be keen to wash and shower as thoroughly as she always did, a kind encouragement helps to get these tasks completed. The detailed care notes give me the confidence to understand how much support she has received each visit irrespective of what I might be told on the phone. Perhaps most significantly if there are any health or medication worries that might arise I know a referral to a GP or pharmacy will be made and I will be informed immediately.

I can't praise Bluebird Care and the fabulous staff that look after my elderly aunty enough for what they do, they have been so diligent, compassionate and proactive in getting her the extra help she needs. Knowing that they are there every day when I can't be is a huge relief. They keep me informed and share their experience of similar situations with me so that I know what to expect. My aunties needs are complex, like any elderly person with dementia and seem to change rapidly but Bluebird Care has shown flexibility to respond, whatever happens. I have no doubt their lovely carers have enriched my aunties days, and she looks forward to her chats with them. I can't thank them enough.

My aunt was firmly against having anyone come into her home to help her but after a serious fall, I took matters into my own hands and arranged for Bluebird Carers to call every day at lunchtime. After an initial reticence, my aunt now looks forward to their visits. She has built up a rapport with her carers and often tells me about their chats. They talk about ‘old’ Gateshead and reminisce about the ‘old’ times. I must add that the ladies are much younger than my aunt but have found old photos via the internet on their phones to show her and it has really made her start to engage with life once more. I think she was becoming quite lonely as most of her friends are no longer able to visit her and they are hard of hearing too so phone calls are limited!
Because the ladies make sure my aunt has something to eat at lunchtime she is also looking more healthy. Her community nurse has noticed a difference.

I cannot thank Bluebird enough for its compassion and attention to my aunt.

I'm very pleased with the care my Dad gets from Bluebird Care Gateshead. My Dad was initially very anxious about having carers but now he really looks forward to seeing them. Nothing seems too much trouble. Being able to check his care online is very useful for me as I live a long distance away from my Dad.

In 2015, I needed the help of Bluebird Care. When I was in need of assistance again, I had no hesitation in calling them.

The excellent, very high standard of the carers has continued. I looked forward to the daily visits. Nothing, however small, was too much trouble for them. As I live on my own, I enjoyed our chats. They felt like my friends encouraging me to get better.

I can’t fault the care and support provided to my mam by Bluebird Gateshead. All of the carers and employees I’ve been in contact with have been extremely professional, supportive, patient and knowledgeable. Overall Experience

We engaged the services of Bluebird Care in late December 2020 for my elderly mum who needs support as she has Alzheimer's. They stepped in at short notice and the transition process was very smooth. The carers are reliable, arriving on time and staying for the full duration of the visit. We don't live locally so have only been present for a couple of care visits; the carers seemed friendly, kind and caring. Mum seems happy with her carers and tells us she has "a good bunch of girls". The office seems to be well run, emails are answered promptly and the staff have a positive/happy to help attitude. They have been very accommodating, e.g. organising and taking her for COVID vaccine appointments. The online system is great, it allows me to read the carer's notes from each visit. The only slight negative is the pricing of the shorter duration (30 min) calls, it's quite a bit more than other companies/the council approved rate. However, overall we are happy with the service so far.

I am a mum of a 16 year old disabled and extremely challenging boy who is supported by Bluebird Care Gateshead. They came into our lives just before the lockdown in March 2020 and I must say I don't know where I would be without them. They are in constant touch with us and there service has been outstanding. They have stepped in at really short notice to help provide valuable support to our family when other services have let us down. They're very reliable as a company and my son loves his new carers. He has positive relationships with them and they have embraced learning all about him and his needs. The management and the girls in the office do a very good job at keeping routine and continuity in my son's life. I would highly recommend them as a care company.

I am very pleased with Bluebird Care and what they are doing for my chronically sick mother. I have found the level of support very good and the staff commitment to be excellent. Further, I have found the communication with management to be good and all necessary things explained and made clear. Overall Experience

My dad receives regular daily care from Bluebird Gateshead. My sister and I don’t live near to dad so it's extremely important to us that he receives the best support possible to enable him to live safely in his own home. During lockdown it was an especially worrying time, however, Bluebird were (and still are) amazing. We receive regular updates through Bluebird’s office and carers. Their carers are always patient, professional and most of all kind. The carers frequently go out of their way to help my dad and adapt to his needs when necessary and without instruction from us. This can include taking dad for a hair cut or maybe encouraging him to take a walk on a sunny day. I have no doubt that without Bluebird’s care my dad would be unable to safely live in his home.

Bluebird Care Gateshead provide excellent care with a very reliable service. They keep me very well informed of how my mother is both physically and socially. Due to their excellent service, it allows my mother to remain in her own home in consultation with various health care professionals, Bluebird care appears to be highly regarded.

The staff are professional and genuinely caring nothing is ever too much trouble.

Bluebird Care has provided support to my mum since August 2020. All the staff at Bluebird Care made the transition to having support in her home a positive experience. The girls who visit are always friendly and professional making sure she is up and sorted in the morning. Communication with the management staff is excellent. They are always just a phone call away any time of the day. My mum and I would highly recommend this service provider.

Overall Experience

I have been a member of Bluebird Care Gateshead since 20-11-2020. I have a lady who comes once a week to assist me to have a bath and hair wash one week and the next, a little domestic work in my home. I was impressed when I applied, by receptionists on the phone, also by the supervisor/manager. May I say the lady who assists me is most polite and ladylike. I use hearing aids and need glasses.

Everyone at Bluebird Care management, office staff and carers have consistently given the highest level of service. Carers often went "above and beyond" what was required and became part of the family without the exceptional level of care and support given my mum would never have been able to remain in her own home for an additional 2 years. We'll be forever grateful for what they've done for us all. Many many thanks.

My mother is very happy with the quality of care she receives from the girls at Bluebird Care. Nothing is too much trouble for them even if it's not on the care plan, the girls have always carried out her wishes. They are prompt, smart, happy and sympathetic at all times.

The carers are friendly but professional. They afford me all the dignity, respect and care I require and nothing seems to be a bother to them. I look forward to their visits - 5 a week - as they are sometimes my only visitors throughout the day. The carers are an invaluable help to me and I also appreciate the input of the management team.

My mother in law didn't want to have carers but we persuaded her to have them for a week while we were on holiday. After the week she immediately agreed to have them three days a week permanently. Office staff have been most helpful. The carers have made a good impression on my mother in law and she now seems happy to have their help.

Overall Experience
Bluebird Gateshead is a first-class and well-run organisation. They have been helping my relative for a while now.

The manager and staff always listen, are accessible, polite, understanding, prompt and willing to help in whatever situation arises. My relative, who has a number of health issues, both physical and mental, is always treated sympathetically by the friendly carers who combine sensitivity with efficiency.
