Overall Experience

A small group of carers are providing an excellent personal care service for my aunt. They are always punctual and she is treated with respect and dignity. My aunt needs a great deal of help to remain safely living at home and the carers go above and beyond on occasions to ensure that the service they are providing is meeting her needs. The Care Manager notifies me of any issues that may need to be addressed so that a positive outcome can be achieved.

Overall Experience

Bluebird have allocated 2 staff to provide care: one carer covers 4 afternoons and has been an absolute gem; she is friendly, efficient and very caring. She is well liked and we rely upon and trust her. Another carer only comes one afternoon but again is liked and trusted. One minor area for improvement by Bluebird is communications - they should try harder to get in touch if there's any change to staffing.

Overall Experience
This is an excellent care provider. Staff are very professional but also very friendly with an excellent sense of humour. The level of training is very good and staff are capable of dealing with whatever they encounter. They are willing to use their initiative, whilst staying within company policies. They keep me well informed, contacting me if anything unusual has occurred, or been dealt with. They are not afraid to contact the GP or ambulance if they think it necessary.
All staff in the office and the catering staff have great personal and communication skills and customer service is excellent.

Very good value for money.

Overall Experience

Currently, carers get my mother out of bed and put her back to bed in the evening. All the girls are very smart, polite and extremely helpful. My mother does not like being showered but the girls manage to get her into the shower every other day, which is what we asked for. My mother has a very good sense of humour which the girls make the most of each day so that by the time they have her downstairs, she is in a good frame of mind. They are very good at picking up any problems mam has, such as a possible water infection, which I can act on before things become worse. After having a bad experience with a previous care company, my dad particularly was worried about having someone else come into the home, but we did not need to have worried, the difference in the atmosphere in the home is so much better. Previous carers wanted to get in and out as fast as possible but Bluebird girls take as long as mam needs, which is very variable due to her many health problems.

Carers are conscientious, caring and pleasant. They are reliable and take the time to talk to my mam as they do her meds etc, as an equal. They all wear their uniform and ID badges. If I have had to tell them about any changes to my mams routine, they are helpful and do their best to make my mam have the best care possible.

Overall Experience

So very pleased we took the difficult decision to have support for my parents at home. My mother suffers from dementia and needed assistance with personal care and routine activities. My parents were reluctant to have strangers in their home and needed convincing. Bluebird Care Gateshead's staff have been exceptional from the off and put my parents at ease. My mother enjoys the carers' visits and her spirits are lifted. My father is relieved of some of the stress of caring in circumstances of deteriorating mental and physical health. My mother can stay in her home longer with Bluebird Care's service. A huge thank you to all involved at Bluebird Care.

I have two wonderful carers.
Since the beginning of my care, I have improved amazingly.
Because of my physical disabilities I have gained in fitness and confidence.
I know I can never dispense with care as my injuries etc are permanent.

The carers are friendly, efficient and arrive on time.
They take an interest in the client and his needs.
Extra support is offered if required, such as staying with the client if the family or carer needs to get out.
One carer volunteered to collect a prescription which was not available via the usual pharmacy delivery service (hospital pharmacy only).

They also show concern for the well-being of the family carer.

Overall Experience

Bluebird is consistent and reliable in caring for our mum. They have been remarkably flexible and very responsive to our mum's needs. Her needs have changed quite quickly and Bluebird has quickly adapted their care plan. The manager and the carers listen and act with kindness and respect both to our mum and to us, her daughters. The management is approachable, friendly and makes communication easy. The carers are kind, cheerful, helpful and make sure they maintain our mother's dignity. I have confidence that Bluebird sees our mum as the individual she is and I trust them to look after her well.

My girls are great and do everything for me without me even having to ask. Having them means I can stay at home and be happy. I don't know what I would do without them. The manager is very good and comes to see me often.

I have just honestly said it's one of the best decisions I have made as all the girls are really kind and helpful and so easy to get on with. My previous care agency were so disorganised and picky, my carers were very demanding and unpleasant.
