Ellie has worked in the care sector for 31 years she started her journey in care in a care home serving breakfasts before school, worked in various care homes doing mainly night work until Ellie was 24, then branched into working with people with learning disabilities.
Ellie worked for a private company for 14 years, which had at the time 2 homes supporting people with learning disabilities.
They then branched out and built a purpose-built unit and a day centre supporting people with severe challenging behaviour and learning disabilities, Ellie started as a day activity co-ordinator until she worked her way up succeeding in various roles to become day centre manager.
Ellie was approached to support in other homes in the country, working closely with managers to teach staff to work in a person-centred way. At this point, Ellie became the inclusion lead for the company. Ellie has gained many qualifications and has extensive knowledge of person-centred care and inclusion.
Ellie started to work for Caremark (Worthing and Adur) in 2014 after being made redundant. Ellie started as a care coordinator and worked her way up to deputy manager where she deputised for the manager for a year while she was taking maternity leave.
In 2018 Ellie offered a position to be the Registered care manager of Caremark (Chichester). Ellie strives to deliver person-centred care to all clients always putting the clients at the centre of everything she does. Ellie has an amazing team and is proud to be the manager of Caremark (Chichester).
With a career spanning nursing, care, and community work since 1982, Phyllis is passionate about delivering person-centred care. After caring for her parents at end of life, she transitioned to roles in IT, business, and volunteer work for a short time before returning to care. Joining Caremark in 2016, and as a natural people person she developed into the in house trained, where her display of strong management and leadership skills aligning perfectly with the Deputy Manager position in Chichester. Phyllis describes her role as being a privilege to work with a dedicated team to provide exceptional homecare.
