Having been let down by Bluebird at the last minute due their staff leaving I was just incredibly lucky to find via a web search engine. Amily Home Care. My mother needed carers immediately. I had not heard of them on my initial web search and was so lucky for this desperate need to find what I had always been looking for, namely a small, local home carer providing both daycare and live-in. We used both over a period of about nine months.

One does not only get the carer assigned but also back-up as needed from their supervisor who is excellent.

Thank you for your kind words David, it was a pleasure for our domiciliary, live-in care staff and office team to care for your mother.

My friend has had home care provided by Amily for the past year. When she came out of hospital last June, it was thought by the consultant that she needed end of life care as she was very fragile. She has needed 24/7 care, which is provided by two wonderful care staff, one of whom has been caring for her throughout the whole year.
My friend could not have had better care, she is now stronger after being given regular and nourishing meals. Her carers, although she has dementia, have formed positive relationships with her, and she is very happy now in spite of her many health problems. She sees her carers as good friends. The care staff can get support and help from a dedicated Manager who oversees them and is on hand to help sort out any difficulties.

Everyone at Amily is extremely approachable and go out of their way to provide excellent care for the client. I would fully recommend them to provide care for anyone in need.

The staff are both friendly and professional, which makes the treatment a whole lot easier to manage, so much so that I don't notice the time it takes.

Working with the team manager we have jointly been able to provide my mother with a care package that has secured further independent living. I have also found that carers generally do care. Mum has a friendly relationship with them.

I joined the management team after working with Amily Homecare initially as a carer. Before this, I had been in a senior role within a care home. I have a true passion for working with more vulnerable clients, including those with dementia and people at the end of their life, and take huge pride in knowing I have made a difference to someone’s day. I approach my work treating people how I would expect my parents to be cared for by showing dignity, respect and providing the quality of care they deserve. I have built strong relationships with all of our clients and am looking forward to growing the care service with the same care, compassion and commitment.

I have worked in the care sector for over 20 years, having gained the majority of my experience working in care homes and domiciliary care. Besides my experience, I believe I excel in how I connect with my clients, creating strong bonds with the elderly and those with dementia and autism in particular. Although I am not one for compliments, others have described me as good-natured, warm and with a good sense of humour.

As Care Co-ordinator, I work closely with our clients, their families and our care team to ensure every care package runs smoothly. From arranging and coordinating care to providing ongoing support and responding to changing needs, I am committed to delivering a responsive, compassionate service and ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained.

I have five years’ experience in the field of social care recruitment and ten years’ experience in the homelessness sector – having worked with a wide and diverse range of support needs. These have involved working with some highly challenging and complex issues – from severe mental health, drug and alcohol, and autism, through to working with ex-offenders, refugees, those escaping domestic violence etc.

I have a simple view when it comes to running the business – we’ll look after the carers and the carers will in turn look after the clients. It’s a methodology and an approach that’s been working well to date and has been helping us build a strong reputation in the care sector.

I worked for a number of years as a full-time Carer to two elderly clients – one with physical health & mobility issues and another with Alzheimer’s. Having witnessed the level of care provided by other service providers – I knew there was a demand for good workers who could both fulfil their duties and responsibilities and who were also sociable and were comfortable spending some time with their clients. It is from this seed that Amily Homecare was born.

I am convinced that connecting and relating to people is the difference between average care and high-quality care and this is the message I strive to spread throughout the organisation. Before this, I had over a decade’s previous experience working in healthcare, homelessness and with younger women.

I have over 20 years experience of working with mental health, homelessness, domestic abuse & drug and alcohol dependency issues. In my time, I have gained a solid reputation with the social workers and social care teams I liaise with for taking on clients with more challenging and complex needs. This is due to my skills and approach in patiently working with the more vulnerable members of our communities to assist them develop their confidence and self-esteem to ultimately get them to a better place within themselves and their circumstances.

I like to think I am patient, relaxed and reassuring when working with clients who require that little bit more emotional & psychological support.

Elaine Mustow
Elaine MustowJob Title:Training OfficerJoined: 2020

I have been working in the care sector for over 40 years, starting in nursing and progressing through to a care manager in a residential home. I then moved into domiciliary care, where l became interested in supporting staff through training, which enabled me to progress further. As a trainer, I have undertaken several qualifications to enable me to become a Registered Health Care Trainer. I still undertake regular updates to keep my knowledge current.

Central to my role is to pass on best practices to enable the care staff to deliver the best possible care to our clients. This also fulfils regulatory requirements, as well as supporting the staff in gaining the relevant qualifications to assist them in their role.
