Wonderful support for my dad and very caring staff. So happy we found you to help my dad continue to live at home safely. Office staff were very helpful in arranging the right level of care for dad so that he could continue to enjoy his life and be active.

We started using A&L Enablement services in September following a recommendation from a friend who had used their services.
My husband has Alzheimer's, dementia and needs stoma care following cancer surgery therefore his needs and care are not straight forward. All the carers, without exception, have
been kind, patient and supportive in allowing him as much independence as possible while ensuring that all his personal care needs are met.


We are provided with a copy of the staff rota and times of visits on Fridays for the following week- the time keeping is very good and carers arrive within 5-10 minutes of the allotted time or let us know if there is a problem.


The carers and the administrative staff are professional in their approach showing empathy and care both for my husband and myself - so I feel greatly comforted and reassured that our ongoing care needs will continue to be met.
I'm really pleased with the service A&L provides.

I engaged the services of A&L to help with personal care for my husband who has Alzheimer's when I began to feel I needed a break. We had a daily 30 mins morning call in the desired timeframe. Calls were made within 10mins of agreed time, carers, male and female, were all competent and friendly. Carers
considered how I was as well as my husband, giving advice when requested.
Communication was good with a rota being emailed the week before, also an app is used to show care plan and if any changes to rota, updated daily.
My husband has now moved into a care home. I am very grateful and thankful for the service and support we received from A&L.

A&L offered the most patient and supportive service to our neighbour who spent her final year being cared for by them.
She was unexpectedly widowed and understandably often frustrated and angry with her circumstances which A&L often recieved the brunt of and they always handled it with grace and decorum.
At the beginning we were still getting to know her routine, her medication requirements, her eating habits etc. and A&L adapted well as this became apparent.
A&L were there in her final moments at home and supported my husband to prepare her for hospital, treating her with respect and protecting her dignity at all times.
We will forever be grateful for the care and support.

Sadly my husband has now had to go into residential care. During his time with A & L carers, he was happy, relaxed, and had a good friendly relationship with them. As the dementia got worse they were very kind and caring towards him. They were also very kind and caring to me. I cannot recommend them
highly enough. So sad the time has come to say goodbye to them.

A&L Enablement provided care for my mother-in-law for just under three weeks before her death. All of the staff that visited her were absolutely marvellous - very kind, caring, respectful and professional. All visits and times were scheduled weekly so we knew when to expect them. Their tracking app
was very useful, keeping us informed of their visits while we were away from home. I would highly recommend A&L Enablement, a wonderful care team.

The care provided by this company was absolutely brilliant. They provided increased care for my mother-in-law as her general well-being deteriorated and her needs increased and were always caring and supportive towards her and us as family members. They were empathetic with our concerns and offered
solutions and additional support as required. Communication was key and they always phoned/emailed depending on the urgency of their concern and were always happy to discuss any issues. I would totally recommend them and have recommended them to others.

After having a poor experience with another provider A & L was recommended to me to provide the care and support required. I have nothing but praise for all of the staff from management through to the superb carers. Rota details were always prompt and any changes were emailed through if required so
we were always up to date with times and carer names. They also suggested improvements to help with the individual caring needs and carers would keep me up to date with any important issues. I cannot thank them enough.

A & L provided care for my Mum and Dad for six years. At first, it was Dad, and then when Mum needed care, they provided it for them both. I can highly recommend them as a care company. The carers are consistent, and the staff have worked there for many years. The care is a good standard, with staff
going above and beyond. The office respond to queries and were flexible if we needed to adjust the rota for a special event. Mum needs to move to a care home, and we are sad to say goodbye to the carers who we have got to know well.

My father-in-law was cared for by the A & L Enablement team for around 6 months. I would highly recommend their care to anyone who needs support caring for a loved one. Their timekeeping and consistency of care never faltered. They took the time to get to know my father-in-law and his needs and did
their very best to support him with those needs. They always kept the family updated on any changes in his health and were very quick to let us know when they had concerns about his welfare. The whole team (management especially) were very proactive in their approach to his care, often taking the initiative and phoning for medical support if they felt it was needed and always if they could not get hold of a family member. If my father-in-law needed simple items like milk or bread etc. they very kindly got these items for him rather than wait for the family to. Thank you to the manager and your team for your professionalism. We would highly recommend you to anyone wanting excellent care.

My husband and I have used the services of A & L Enablement Services (Care & Support) for his personal care for several years now. Over this time he has been treated with respect and kindness by all the carers he sees, even though on occasions he can be a little grumpy when he has an off day. The carers
try hard to maintain his dignity at all times whilst being friendly but professional. They also take the time to listen to and show an interest in what my husband has to say and have a laugh with him.

A & L is an extremely well-led service putting clients' needs first with outstanding compassion. All staff are professional, friendly and caring individuals. The service we receive is outstanding and caters for the needs of my mum empowering her to make decisions about the type of care received. Any
amendments to carers' schedules are dealt with in a timely manner. Nothing is too much trouble. It is the best care provider we have experienced and we are very grateful for the dedication and support aligned to a CQC rating of good. Many thanks to all.

A&L have looked after my Mum for the last 4 years. Almost without exception, their choice of the care staff employed has been brilliant, as has the management and office team. Even during the pandemic, there wasn't a single time where they didn't manage to get to see mum. I can't tell you how grateful
I am to every single one of them. Sadly Mum now requires care from a nursing home following a number of falls and a worsening state of dementia. I will miss all the girls - they made my mum laugh. She even received a trophy from them, "Best loo in Coventry 2021"! Priceless. Thanks again everyone.

A&L had been providing my mum with weekly support/domestic help which was greatly appreciated and gave my mum additional company. Unfortunately, my mum's dementia worsened dramatically whilst I was not around to help. A&L stepped up and, despite their own pressures on time, etc, provided a daily visit
to my mum to check that she was taking her medication correctly and that she was contented for the day. We have now moved to live-in care which A&L do not provide but they were able to recommend a carer agency which has been very good. All of the A&L staff members who provided support to my mum were really caring and helpful to her. Thank you so much for all your support.

All of the staff and carers at A&L have been absolutely wonderful, caring for my 75-year-old Mum who has mid-stage dementia, for 2 years until she has now moved into a care home. The carers are all so cheerful and happy and really brightened up Mum's day. The managers have been extremely helpful and
flexible and able to adapt and adjust Mum's caring needs as they changed. I very highly recommend A&L! Thank you A&L.

I hold a level 5 qualification in Management of health and social care and have undertaken specific training in first aid, medication management, moving and handling and training the trainer


I am passionate about customer care and enabling customers to live their lives, their way safely and happily at home. I am extremely proud of the quality of care and support we at A&L provide to our customers.

Hello, I'm Jan and I've been with A&L Enablement Services since August 2010.


I qualified as a social worker in 1987, although I no longer practice, and have worked in Adult Social Care since 1975 in a variety of roles from admin to senior management for Coventry City Council, I 'retired' in March 2010.


I have undertaken specific training in dementia, end of life care, equality and diversity and medication management as well as the mandatory training we undertake annually.


I am passionate about providing, high quality, individualised care and support to people and believe that is what we do here at A&L.


My daughter, Laura, has taken over as manager and I am looking towards retirement in the next two years knowing that the company is in extremely safe hands.
