Helping Hands have delivered efficient, professional and kind care for my mother. She has required visits a during the day and care at night. Helping Hands carers listened to my mother, learned how she wanted to be cared for and formed respectful and caring relationships with her. The agency was flexible to her changing needs. My brothers and I and most importantly my mother, feel so grateful to the agency and the carers. Thank you Helping Hands Barnet.

The carer is always smiling and friendly when she supports my parent who has dementia.
She spends time talking to my parent and gives my other parent time to have a break.

We feel confident when the carer visits that they are being looked after very well.

I cannot say how impressed I have been with the level of care I have received. Your carers are trained to a very high standard nothing is too much trouble for them and they are so happy and cheerful and I found them so easy to talk to. They are polite and I found a degree of respect between us. I have enjoyed my experience immensely.

I have found that the care and treatment my husband received from the staff is very good. Some are better than others, some chat with him, some don't but the care that they give is good.

It's been a great experience to see so many excellent carers. I was very unwell in mid-January, but now I am better and do not need the lovely help I had in January. As I am nearly 87. It may well be that I'll need more carers, as I seem to get things now that I have never had before. Thank you so much!

I was concerned when my elderly friend, who had no close family was showing signs of needing assistance. I phoned various agencies but something about Helping Hands Home Care made me feel confident and reassured. I was right! My friend has regular cares who assist in shopping, hospital appointments, coffee trips and companionship. They are like good friends, kind, caring, respectful, efficient and professional. Management staff are always helpful and sort problems immediately. Thank you Helping Hands, you're brilliant!

My care is good and meets my requirements.
The administration from the office is not satisfactory.

Times are changed and I am not told. If my carer is on holiday, I am never contacted and told who is coming instead. If she herself didn't tell me she was going to be away I wouldn't know. She does but I always have to ring the office to find out the arrangements.

The service is a huge asset to both my partner who receives treatment and myself because it takes a great amount of stress away from me. We look forward to our twice weekly visits from our carer who is great company for us and very knowledgeable.

Avoid. I hired Helping Hands to care for my mum on Sundays, so that my usual carers (through another agency) could have a day off. Helping Hands promised much and delivered nothing. Far from providing continuity of care with one regular carer or, at the very least, a team of two or three, I had a seemingly endless stream of people arriving. Often two new people in one day. Each time I would be there to talk them through my mum's routine and meds (for some reason, this information did not appear on her notes. The two most recent carers said they wouldn't have had a clue what to do had I not been there), hoping we were sorted, but no. The next week, a new name would appear on my rota. Add to this, changes made to call times (without consulting me), invoicing errors (I was invoiced for 2 hours when I had had only 30 minutes' care), and an inability to provide cover when they canceled this Sunday's carer with just 3 days notice and you can see why I have gone elsewhere. The review is based on management, not carers.

I am very pleased with the team of carers. I am particularly impressed with the main carer who oversees my well being and general running of the house conscientiously.
All carers are very friendly, will help with any tasks and are very helpful.

If it wasn't for my carers, I would not be able to live in my own home.

Sophie Barker Job Title: Branch Manager
Sophie Barker

Hello! I’m Sophie, the Branch Manager for Barnet.

My responsibilities are to manage the day-to-day running of the branch - I assess customers’ needs and set up care packages, oversee schedules to ensure customers have regular carers and make sure person-centred care is always delivered. In short, I am the one accountable for the smooth running of the Barnet branch. The thing I enjoy most about my role is knowing my team and customers are happy. Nothing can beat this! I enjoy receiving outstanding feedback from our customers regarding the care they’ve received. Having been a carer myself, I enjoy sharing my first-hand experience with new carers joining the team. I also still love delivering care.

My experience and expertise

I previously worked as a Care Coordinator for three years before making the move to Helping Hands at the start of 2018. This experience allowed me to both grow as a care and helped me to gain skills in managing other people. I believe this experience has been vital to my success as a Branch Manager, as I not only understand the roles of the carers in my team but also what my customers are looking for in a care provider.I am NVQ Health and Social Care Level 3 qualified.

Why I chose Helping Hands

I decided to join Helping Hands because I wanted to be a part of a company which shares the same values and passion for care that I do. Helping Hands takes great pride in their staff and this is something I feel very passionate about. I feel honoured to be working for such a company. My team provide an excellent service to enable our customers to stay at home, remaining independent for as long as possible
