Helping Hands Home Care (Lutterworth)

From the moment I walked into the office in Lutterworth I relaxed. I sat down and talked through my needs and the difficulties I was having with my parents. They listened to me and between us we came up with the care package. Just once a week to start off with to get them used to them coming in. So far, so good as they now say to me "It's nearly Tuesday, so and so will be coming to see us". I'm so glad I went to see them at Helping Hands.

Dad's carer, Kumbi, is wonderful. He is caring, kind and approachable. He keeps in contact with me and helps me to communicate with dad as he struggles to use the phone. He ensures I'm involved in dad's support which gives me peace of mind as I live nearly 200 miles away. Dad is very fond of him and loves his cooking! Thank you with all my heart

I have a carer each morning to get me washed and dressed. I also have a carer to look after me and provide lunch when my wife goes out. The Helping Hands staff do all this superbly, they are all well trained and congenial.

My husband has had two overnight stays to allow me to go away for two nights. I was completely confident that HH would keep Alan safe, meet his needs and provide excellent company. All this means that my time away could be the relaxing and stress free break I needed.

Carers always professional. I feel that they car about my well being and always have a friendly chat. The help they give me is 100%. They can see jobs that need doing especially in the kitchen. I would have a very difficult time without their help.

On the whole the service I have been getting on 2 days a week to help me shower and dress, then do the other jobs that need doing in the early morning, have been carried out in a cheerful, friendly and competent way. They leave me clean and tidy ready to deal with the rest of the day.

My carer took us to a local garden centre owned by people we know, but as I am partially sighted, I couldn't see them. However, Sandra (my carer) took it upon herself to ask a couple who were there, and she found them for me so that I could speak to them. It had been years since we had been them so it was really kind and caring that she did that for us.

The fact that I have been with Helping Hands since 2019 says a great deal. The present leadership team are extremely hard working, approachable and focussed on my needs. These have changed over the years but Helping Hands have always made sure that my needs, which are complex, have been met. I have had some excellent carers who have frequently gone the extra mile to help. There has obviously been some hiccups over the years but these have always been resolved quickly and to my satisfaction.

On top of the excellent assistance given 3 times a week, I received even more care when I had sciatica. The carers spent more time doing tasks that I could normally manage. They looked after me and my husband by doing shopping, fetching medication and taking me to appointments. It was our 66th wedding anniversary, so they helped prepare for a special family meal by shopping, preparing food and setting the table. All of this is to help us stay independent.

The experience of using care services was with the intention of rehabilitation after surgery. This arrangement has worked very well. Thanks to the flexibility of Caring Hands, I feel that I have achieved my objective in relation to normal lifestyle activities.

Helping Hands provided carers after I broke my hip 6 months ago. They enabled me to return to my own home and helped me to gradually return to normal. I needed daily help to begin with: the carers offered gentle support and encouragement so that I regained my confidence to eventually manage on my own. I would recommend their services to anyone needing help whilst recovering from an accident or operation.

I am really pleased and happy with the service my mum receives from Helping Hands Home Care. All the carers are very friendly, caring and treat mum with respect. They make sure she is eating, make her drink, see to her personal needs and importantly always have time for a chat. If there are any issues, I am informed straight away.
