My mum has lived with us for the past 3 1/2 years and for 3 of these years I have managed to attend to all her needs. Mum is 95 now and frail and I found that the time it was taking to do the morning routine I was struggling to get everything I needed to be done to be ready for work etc and was continually under pressure time wise and I didn’t want to rush Mum. Together we decided we should look at Carers. I was fussy about who came in and liked that Home Instead came at a set time, that it was the same few caregivers and that they matched suitable people to Mum so although we had to wait 3 months for a vacancy it was worth it. The ladies are lovely and we both feel totally at home with them. They are always prompt and courteous and we like them a lot. They're being there for an hour each morning allows me to get everything done without worrying about Mum and then I am ahead for the day and able to attend to Mums needs without any pressure. We would definitely recommend the company.
Home Instead Senior Care (North Devon & Exmoor) was a lifeline at a time when we suddenly needed more care for my mother. Requests for care always met with a calm, helpful and optimistic response. Each new caregiver was introduced, and accompanied by another caregiver who knew my mother, for the first session. My mother was always treated with dignity and respect and the caregiver provided good practical care and companionship. When night care relief was needed it was forthcoming even at short notice. The family were reassured that mother was in good hands.
My husband and I found the carer to be very polite and friendly. The carer was always prompt and willing to take on any task that we required that day. The career developed a strong bond with my husband who had absolute faith and trust in every situation.
We started using Home Instead to provide at-home care for our mother in November 2017. My sister and I have been so satisfied with the service provided by the managing directors and the CAREgivers that support Mum in the house. They have been able to adapt and provide the services required for Mum, respond to last minute changes, scale up services required quickly and efficiently. They have been a great source of support and advice and I highly recommend them. They are sensitive, comforting and respectful in very difficult circumstances. Thank you.
It is a relief to have found such a lovely caring team. Our family have complete confidence in the care given. The contact between us all is good and clear which leaves us all feeling reassured that Mum is in good hands when we can’t be with her.
Service and level of care excellent. We just need to get my mother not to keep changing/cancelling visits and give enough warning so as to avoid excess costs.
The service they provide has been second to none from day one. Keep up the fantastic work.
On a couple of occasions, my father became unwell. The carers were well supported by their managers who visited my father and stayed until the situation was resolved.
Sadly my father has had to return to 24-hour care which Home Instead do not currently provide. But I have no hesitation in recommending their service to anyone looking for care & support and was sad not to be able to continue with them.
