My dad was in the care of Caremark Southampton for about 15 months. During that time the level of service and communication has been very poor with the care coordinator. On numerous occasions I have asked to speak to Director/care coordinator. I have never received a response by phone. Email confirmations are not followed through. They do not care about the customer. For example in November my father was admitted to hospital for 7 weeks and no one from the agency called to see how he was. It is all about the money. The staff have no formal training and are on their phones most of the time. We chose Gujarati speaking carers so my mum would feel comfortable. My father was a very chatty person and I asked carers to chat with him many times. This is something they should do without having to be asked. The care does not reflect in the name. Sadly my father passed away and I am sure the company knew from local contacts in the community. Still there was no contact with us.
We are very sorry to hear of your loss and offer our sincere condolences at this difficult time. We are concerned to read your comments and take all feedback seriously. The level of communication and care you describe is not the standard we aim to provide at Caremark Southampton. We would welcome...
You have wonderful carers, very pleasant and come out in all weathers. Very helpful and cheerful, I could not do without them. Loving and big-hearted, and always make sure that I am comfortable. Thank you.
Efficient and helpful service provided.
Caremark staff visit my mother daily in the morning. She is a very proud lady and the staff fully respect, and support, her wish to be as independent as possible. Mum finds all the staff friendly and professional. From my point of view, it is reassuring to know that she is being cared for by empathetic carers who take her wishes into account, but always provide essential care for her.
After some 'teething' problems, they have in recent months greatly improved their service by listening to my concerns about promptness of attending at the agreed times and also having only the same 3/4 regular carers attending to Mum.
She feels this helps her to build a 'rapport ' with them and a bond of trust, which is important.
The carers are all attentive and polite, however some need reminding about duty of care to patient as for example, being aware and close by of her walking down the stairs, rather than just rushing off to make her a cup of tea !
However a lot has improved and therefore a 9 out of 10 overall . Well done
They are doing a very good job. Caremark is providing very good care and support. Whenever we ask for any changes and make some arrangements then Caremark does that very quickly. Carers are excellent. They give me care and support very well. All are very kind, polite, and caring.
After my wife's discharge from hospital, we have had an excellent live-in carer for a fortnight and then twice daily care, re-establishing my wife's routine at home. They are helping her with her everyday care. Carers are very pleasant in manner and diligent. I find the carers are very helpful and they are very kind. They have really good communication with my wife. They are really interacting with my wife.
Caremark Southampton has been an absolute godsend for me and my husband the past few years. My husband had a stroke leaving him needing full-time care. Caremark Southampton's amazing caregivers have provided compassionate support and helped him retain a good quality of life. I don't know how I would've coped without them. They take time to understand his needs and treat him with dignity and respect. Their assistance allows me to focus on my own health. We're very grateful Caremark Southampton has a diverse staff from India as my husband only speaks Hindi and we struggled to find Hindi-speaking caregivers. The Hindi-speaking staff have been lifesavers in providing care he can understand. The office team quickly responds to any questions or changes needed. I never feel like I'm bothering them. The whole Caremark Southampton team is like family now. We're so grateful for the individualised care they give my husband. We're so thankful to have found them!
On joining Caremark services I was told I could have female carers only. This proved not to be the case. I also found it disappointing to have such a variation in carers and times of their attendance. I feel a bond between carers and client would be more likely if continuity was available. Recently there were long delays in sending out invoices. The carers work very hard.
Thank you for your review and we appreciate your honesty, we will be looking into the problems that have occurred and will make the necessary changes that are needed. Our apologies and we can guarantee these changes will happen ASAP.
I can honestly say that Mum adores all of her carers and finally looks forwards to seeing them (after previously being very resistant to have cared). The company and staff's kind, caring and personal approach to care have taken a load off our minds, and we are confident that she is in safe hands when we are not around. So a big thank you for the peace of mind you have provided us as a family.
Thank you for your kind words and we will relay your appreciation to the Care and Support staff.
I employed Caremark Southampton for the care of my Uncle. He was not very keen to have carers to say the least, however as soon as the carer from Caremark had left he was looking forward to their next visit. Nothing was too much trouble for the Carer, from getting him fish and chips to washing and dressing him. They knew when he was having a bad day, when to try and get him to be more active and when to get emergency help. My Uncle would phone the carer if he had a problem and they were on his doorstep as soon as they could get there. They made him feel safe and were accommodating when I needed to increase the care and change the times of the care calls. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble. My calls were handled promptly, professionally, but also with a very personal touch. Sometimes when dealing with elderly relatives care you can feel as if you are on your own, but Caremark are a very caring company and offered so much support.
Since Caremark have taken over my father in law's care there has been a marked improvement in the service. The previous provider had dishonest carers who would lie about what had been done and enter incorrect times in the book. Caremark have been as punctual as it is possible to be in this sector, and always helpful. Whenever I have had to call their office the call has been answered and the matter dealt with in a professional manner.
Thank you very much for your kind words. The team appreciate the positive feedback.
