Care Matters Homecare provided excellent care for my nan. The carers were reliable, friendly and professional. There was a core team who my nan loved and it was reassuring know the same carers where attending her calls. For the many months, they made her life at home less lonely and allowed her to remain where she wanted to be as long as possible. The office staff were friendly and sorted out extra services for my nan, which helped greatly and took extra pressure of us as a family. I would recommend Care Matters.

The management of this company is horrific. My mother has PSP which affects her swallowing. My mum is unable to brush her own teeth. My Father asked a carer if they had brushed her teeth. They responded no we've been told too as another carer has recorded that she went blue and choked. This information was not passed on to any family member.
A carer advised using a finger toothbrush something. My Dad didn't feel comfortable doing due to the biting risk. My Dad seeked advice from medical professionals who recommended that this should under no circumstances be done. However, when I contacted management about it they stated my Father had agreed to buying one. This was a lie, why would my father go against the medical professionals advice?

Both myself and other professionals have addressed concerns with management who stated that they would inform head office and they would observe. Nothing happened.

We are sorry that you and your family have had a negative experience with our company recently. Having cared for your mum for many months we are keen to fully understand what has gone wrong in recent weeks and as such are in the process of completing an internal investigation, once this is complete we will respond to you with our findings accordingly.

As a family, we feel very very lucky to have been able to get my dad a place in Meadowfield House.
Whenever I visit the Care Matters staff are always very cheerful and nothing is too much trouble, they are always smiling and Dad is delighted with the service and care they are giving him.
And I believe this gives Meadowfield House a nice environment for the residents to be part of.
The care team is fantastic and they are always smiling.
The care coordinator/manager manages a fantastic team of staff and she comes across as very experienced and shows a lot of companionship and enthusiasm I believe this benefits her work colleagues and the residents.

Without Meadowfield House / Care Matters my dad would not be able to live independently, being supported where he needs it with personal tasks such as washing or taking medication, he has the full package.

Thank you for your kind words, your positive feedback will be shared with the team who will be delighted to hear how well-supported your Dad feels. Thanks again.

Overall Experience

Since April 2023 the carers have been professional, knowledgable and highly capable throughout. My experience has also been extremely positive. They are friendly and I have the same regular carers. My meals have always been prepared the same, despite their varied levels of experience and ages. Even the very few times there were emergency cover staff, everything went just as smoothly. They demonstrated that they are all equally capable. All the staff have been and are very helpful, this included bringing items that I had run out of, amongst other small tasks. I have had great conversations with all of them throughout my care. I have been reassured since my first visit and would recommend them. Being a wheelchair user, it has been an easy process.
