Overall Experience

Following my mum's fall in late 2025, the carers at Highgate have been absolutely outstanding. They have supported her rehabilitation with genuine compassion, kindness, and professionalism, helping her regain her independence while also providing ongoing personal care whenever needed.

Every carer involved has made my mum feel safe, respected, and cared for throughout her recovery. The management team have also been incredibly supportive and reassuring, which has meant a great deal to me during a difficult time.

Thank you to everyone at Highgate for the excellent care and dedication you show every day. Your work truly makes a difference.

Overall Experience

I have been using the services of Highgate Care Home for about eight months now and have been extremely satisfied with the care I have received. The carers I have encountered will all go above and beyond in making sure that I feel comfortable and at ease with them. Tending to my needs in a caring but professional manor.

Overall Experience

You're all very efficient friendly helpfull anwser question of worry keep me sane and always helpful. Always here to have a chat with me if I have any worry's of my own or my husbands and help with any issues I have. I very happy with my regular staff who come and can't fault any of them and also have always had helpful staff.

Overall Experience

The professional help and kindness given by Amanda to my dear elderly friend was outstanding. She was very skilled and caring. The care package was set up easily and quickly and they were able to provide excellent home care - just what was asked for and needed.

The match of the Lucy and my friend was perfect - she was delighted with the professional help and the kindness and courtesy given to her by Lucy.

On behalf of the family and myself thank you both for the wonderful service and care you have given. I cannot recommend highly enough.

Overall Experience
I moved from London to live and care for my mum. When mum's health deteriorated further I had to seek help and support with her increased physical health needs. Initially apprehensive to have strangers caring for mum, I needn't have worried as the carers we have from Highgate Care, are kind, compassionate and treat mum with dignity and respect.
Any decisions made about mum's care, are made in partnership with myself and mum at the centre of the process.

I must also mention the care and consideration shown to me, as mums care needs change by the manager and her team, who have always been supportive and respond promptly and appropriately If I have had any concerns.

Overall Experience
My dad has been receiving care from Highgate for several months. They have been a real help with dad's meals and medication. I live a long way away, but they communicate really well with me so I am reassured things are going OK.
They have gone above and beyond by helping out when he left the house and got lost by searching the area outside of the normal care hours.

They were also extremely helpful when he recently went into respite, sorting out the personal effects he needed.

From the moment I was sign posted to Highgate Care, I have nothing but praise for the organisation. I live 3 hours away from my mum, therefore unable to visit as often as I would like to, but the professionalism, support and understanding I have received from the management and care staff in caring for my mum has been exceptional to say the least. My mum has mixed vascular Alzheimer's/Dementia and is becoming very vulnerable, however after putting a care plan in place and liaising with the organisation, and going that extra mile, I am reassured that mum is receiving the best support possible in her own home.

Well done Highgate Care !

Overall Experience

My sister and I are extremely happy with the service received, looking after our dad, who has Alzheimer's. Dad has 3 calls a day, and the ladies who attend are very kind and considerate. They treat Dad with care and respect and have built up a great relationship with him. We would highly recommend Highgate, who have worked with us to provide Dad a safe environment and keep him in his own home and the same independence with their help. Thank you.

Overall Experience
Highgate have been caring for Dad for over a year, with an increase in support during the last few months. Dad has had a difficult few months due to changes in his illness and personal circumstances which was an extra stress for his dementia.
The team at Highgate not only managed this in a professional manner, they actually helped Dad settle into a routine. Personal care, cleaning, cooking, taking time to talk Dad, and issuing medication after major changes were all handled so well. The after hours team and the office handled any issues with warmth and professionalism.
Some things stand out and are a credit to their staff. Suggestions around food came from the team, they went over and above to help Dad with his eating issues, their suggestions form a key part of his careplan. They talk to Dad about his hobbies, his music, holidays and as Dad said just the other day they cook his eggs far better than his sons did!

Great care team and company.

Overall Experience

Highgate Homecare provided excellent care for my aunt since August 2024, starting with medication visits. Later on she needed more support; carers helped with keeping the house safe and clean and helping with meals, progressing to preparing and serving meals and personal care. The carers dealt sensitively and thoughtfully with my aunt's progressive memory and cognitive issues, and the company has been flexible and pro-active in passing on concerns, making suggestions to help keep my aunt safe and happy, and supporting her medical appointments etc when family were not available. From an initial position of resistance, my aunt became very comfortable with her regular carers. They made the effort to get to know her and her ways and were always friendly and chatty, making sure she felt safe and secure each time they left. I would highly recommend Highgate to anyone needing care at home. Thank you for helping to keep my aunt happily in her own home for as long as possible.

Overall Experience
Highgate carers have been providing care to my father-in-law since March. The service is excellent from the office staff on the end of the phone to the carers coming in and looking after him.
The carers are normally on time and he usually has the same 2 carers who provide a very kind and caring service sometimes going above and beyond to make sure he happy, safe and well presented and his personal needs are met and his medication is administered.
The night time carer always makes sure he locks the door and is safe for the night.
We have been very happy with Highgate and would recommend then to anybody thinking of needing care.

Overall Experience

My mother in law who is in her 90s lives with my wife and I. Burlington homecare provides flexible first class and friendly care for her when we are away either on holidays or relatively short absent trips visiting friends and relatives or events. They prepare her meals and medication as well as friendly smiles and company which we know she really enjoys. For us they provide peace of mind that she is being well looked after and will be professionally cared fo should something happen whilst we are not there. The office staff are all very professional helpful and friendly too and have always organised cover, sometimes at quite short notice, which has been a godsend. Thank you for all your help for the last 18months.

Carers are very caring and almost always on time. Very gentle when they needed to be and tried to get my husband into his chair till eventually it became impossible.

One mistake was moving him from Sara Steady to the commode and back again when there was no need & he didn't get up after that. This was when they were putting him to bed by two of the younger carers.

My father needed support and, based on previous experience, I contacted Highgate. From the initial contact, they couldn't have been more helpful. The staff that looked after my Dad were without exception excellent and nothing was too much trouble for them. Dad and I are both extremely grateful for all that they did and I would definitely recommend them to others.

Overall Experience

Having experience arranging care with two care providers. The Burlington Homecare is far the better, a member of staff in the office has been especially helpful. Very happy with the service provided, the carers are caring (I appreciate that sounds obvious) but I mean it in the sense of being warm-hearted and efficient, communication is very good. Overall, wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Tim Brigham

Tim joined Highgate Home Care eleven years ago, having managed several other companies across Yorkshire in the past, and he has been at the forefront of the expansion of the business. His leadership has seen Highgate Home Care awarded GOOD in all areas by the Care Quality Commission. He is passionate about caring for the elderly and started his career as a care worker himself. He believes fully that the people in his care should be treated with dignity and respect in all areas of their lives. He spent three years as chairman of the Registered Managers Network for Hull and East Riding in conjunction with Skills For Care to promote partnership working across the sector.
