When one of the supervisors left and the manager retired around this time, everything went south. The office was being run by Solihull due to staff shortage and the newly appointed manager being on secondment to a branch in the SW. Nobody knew what was going on. Rotas changed with no notice. Very rude
Admin Staff.

Invoices were not being sent to my accountants. Phones not being answered.

Staff late and not correctly dressed and one arrived on two days very hung over and constantly yawning. When told of her deportment had the utter cheek to report me

The new manager has no managerial experience and has lost 7 staff and numerous customers.

I would never recommend this company.

My thanks go out to Dene and his colleagues for their excellent support when I needed to arrange urgent care at home for my husband. I made the call on the morning, an assessment was carried out at home and visits from carers started on that day. When I needed to add on extra visits at short notice
they were accommodated without difficulty. Whenever I called the staff were polite, helpful and professional. I would highly recommend them.
Reply from Katie Rathbone, Customer Experience Specialist at Helping Hands Home Care (Birmingham)Good morning,
Thank you so much for sharing your experience. We are truly pleased to hear how well Dene and the team supported you during such an urgent and stressful time. Being able to arrange an assessment and begin visits on the same day is something we strive for, and it is wonderful to know this made things easier for you and your husband.
It is also lovely to hear that additional visits were accommodated quickly when needed, and that every interaction you had with the team was polite, helpful, and professional. Your kind words mean a great deal, and the team will be delighted to know the positive impact their support had.
We are incredibly grateful for your recommendation.
Kindest regards
Katie

My carer is a wonderful person, she will do anything for me and is always pleasant. She has helped me in many ways, which I really appreciate. She took me to hospital when I had a blood clot in my lung. She stayed with me for 2 hours extra.

A very efficient care at home package for a family member. The company was flexible as the care requirements changed due to the gradual increase in dementia symptoms presented by the family member. The carers on site were friendly , sensitive and empathetic.
The management support was responsive and
efficient, would recommend the company to future clients.

All staff are kind, caring and helpful. I can find no fault. They always check before they leave to see if there is anything else I need. No job is too small. All good with jobs, eg cleaning cats litter tray. I would recommend them to anyone.

I was very sceptical about having a carer for my parents, but after a very helpful and friendly meeting with the branch manager, all of mine and my parents' concerns were addressed - it's like we've known the carers for years! I can safely say, this was the best decision and my mom and dad are in great
hands. I'd thoroughly recommend Helping Hands.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Home Care Provider is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.361 for Helping Hands Home Care (Birmingham) is calculated as follows: ( (28 Excellents x 5) + (1 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) + (4 Poors x 2) + (2 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 36 Ratings = 4.361

Job Title: Branch Care Manager

About me

Hello, I’m Anna and I’m the Branch Manager for Birmingham. My responsibilities and values are to ensure that we deliver person-centred care for all individuals, identifying any client-specific needs they may require support within their day-to-day living. Our aim is to deliver high-quality care with the right level of support, dignity and respect needed to remain comfortable in their own homes.

I enjoy my role as I love to meet new people, build good relationships with the families we support, and I can ensure they are receiving the quality care and service which everyone deserves.

Experience and expertise

In 1993, I was involved in a road traffic collision that left me wheelchair dependent and learning to walk again. As a result, I received care to help me regain my independence, which gave me a great understanding of what many of our customers experience every day. This inspired me to start my own domiciliary care company with my mother in 1995, and in the last 20+ years, I have worked in various different sectors of the care industry. This has given me the knowledge and experience that I have today, which I hope to share with you to support you in the community.

Over the years, I have obtained several different qualifications which are mandatory for the care sector, but I have also obtained my NVQ Level 4 in 2003, as well as my Registered Managers Award (RMA) in 2006 which has enabled me to register with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) as a Registered Manager.

Why I chose Helping Hands

I chose to work with Helping Hands because it is such a unique and inspiring company that has achieved so much within the care industry. Helping Hands have a great framework, structure and support teams that enable us to provide high-quality care services. I’m so glad I joined the team, I’ve been welcomed and supported since the start of my employment, knowing that both our customers and staff are supported throughout the business.
