Helping Hands have been brilliant from the start. Mum was reluctant to have help but now looks forward to her daily visit. It is very reassuring to know that she is taking her medication correctly & has help with daily tasks. Staff are very kind and caring. I would highly recommend them.

Helping Hands Newport have been looking after my mum since September 25. Mum is 92 and although in generally excellent health, needs assistance with getting her lunch as without it she just wouldn't bother. On the days I or my husband can't go, (3 or sometimes 4 days a week), the lovely careers sort out her lunch and leave her tea ready for her. Mum loves to go for a walk and when weather permits, they take her out for a wander. All of the staff, and managers are wonderful, they understand not only mums needs, but mine too and never mind me dropping in for a catch up. They carry out 3 monthly reviews to make sure everything is the same and to check there are no issues. Mum is quite a proud person and we weren't sure if she would be happy with someone other than us visiting, but she likes seeing the careers and chatting to someone different. If anything with a visit changes they call to let me know, even if it is just mum not feeling like eating her lunch. I highly recommend them.
Good Morning,

Care has been provided at short notice which is much appreciated.
Points for improvement :
- Getting the correct amount charged is taking some time.
- Mum had a carer that she really liked, it seems impossible to get her back even though we requested this immediately after the first session ended.
I am sorry for the issues you have experienced. We understand how...
My mother has been receiving visiting care from Helping Hands for almost 9 months and is very happy with the service provided. As well as helping with her physical requirements, she really enjoys the mental stimulation provided, having somebody to talk to twice a day.

Staff are always very polite and friendly. I find them helpful and very willing to fulfil my needs. They are chatty, which i really appreciate especially as I am on my own most of the time. Even though they are busy they always have time to listen.

In August this year I made the decision to have support at home. Although I only wanted a carer to come and help keep my home clean and tidy I thought that once a fortnight would be enough. However I found that I also enjoyed having someone to talk to. Now they come every week and I look forward to having a chat and a cup of coffee when they finish. I would recommend them to anyone in the same position that I was in.

I first contacted Helping Hands 2 years ago, my Mum was living independently, but was in her late 80s and getting frailer. Starting with 3 visits a week for 1 hour, then increased to 7 days a week for 45 minutes. At first Mum was resistant to strangers coming into her home, but soon started to really enjoy the regular company. She didn't need personal care, but they helped with cleaning, shopping lists, walks in the garden, appointments, and conversation. Mum liked them all, but Ffion and Alison were exceptional. Carers add notes to a portal after every visit, which you can access. There are also quarterly reviews to discuss any concerns & adjust requirements. With a bit of notice they can increase/decrease visits to suit. I work full time, so it was reassuring, to have lovely carers checking in with Mum each day. Mum has now moved to a care home. My score should be a 5, but the office staff could be abrupt when calling them. However, I would highly recommend Helping Hands.
We are pleased to hear that after being a bit resistant abut having strangers visiting your Mum started to really enjoy the regular company from all the carers, but in particular Ffion and Alison who were...
Helping Hands have made a huge difference to my mother's health and wellbeing since we started using them 4 weeks ago. They're friendly, helpful and happy to undertake any task I've requested. Mum has mild dementia and was reluctant to have strangers in the house but the carers have been so good, she now looks forward to their visits. They always leave her home clean and tidy and are diligent when administering her medication. I'm particularly grateful for them promptly alerting me with any concerns they have for Mum such as medication running out. The service has been excellent overall and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.
Thank you for leaving us a review, we really do appreciate it.

All helpers were pleasant, kind and caring. They treated me with respect and tackled all tasks that I asked of them willingly . They also asked if there was anything else I needed. I felt very happy to have them in my home

The team care. I have watched them all with my Mum and they have a good attitude and most of them complete the tasks and respect the home and the job that they are there to do. You do get the occasional rushed visit and things get left but generally the areas of the home used for that visit are left clean and tidy and my Mum is happy. I appreciate that all standards are different and my Mum is fastidious in how she wants things .
The communication is caring and most of the carers have the time to sit and chat. They laugh and show a nature that proves they values the work that they do. As a family we are happy with the Helping Hands as a care option.
I was on holiday and out of the country and Helping Hands went above and beyond to help my Mum with care and shopping. Nothing is too much trouble and provides me with the comfort of someone visiting her daily and checking everything is okay. I live 170 miles away from my Mum and it eases the guilt of being far away.
I didn't know what to expect when I first contacted Helping Hands. I can honestly say that I have been more than pleased with the service, care and empathy I have received. I am recommending you to everyone. Thank you! Keep up the high standards!
I find the staff very obliging and open to my way of life. Which is knowing where everything as a place. Discussion is on the agenda making the experience worthwhile and revealing sometimes.
All carer are happy to help mum needs, always friendly and happy to talk with her, on phone office staff is always nice and happy to help
