India joined Professional Carers in 2022, bringing 11 years of experience in the social care sector to her role. She began her career as a Community Carer before progressing into Care Coordinator and Care Manager roles, giving her a deep understanding of both frontline care and leadership.

Originally studying Nursing, India worked part-time in social care alongside her degree. It was during this time that she discovered her true passion lay in social care, where she could build meaningful relationships and deliver genuinely person-centred support. She is committed to respecting individuals’ choices and empowering them to make informed decisions about their care.

India holds multiple qualifications in Health and Social Care and is currently working towards her SVQ Level 4, with plans to pursue the Care Services Leadership and Management Award once complete. She is passionate about ongoing development, both for herself and her team and is continually seeking ways to learn, grow, and enhance the care and support her team provides.

Sebastian began his career in the UK in 2015 after relocating from Poland, where he had previously worked as a paramedic. His first role in the UK was as a Community Carer with Professional Carers, supporting people across Edinburgh and South Queensferry. During this time, he gained a strong understanding of the carer’s role, the challenges it brings and the vital impact it has on the lives of service users.

Between 2017 and 2022, Sebastian worked in a nursing home, progressing from Senior Care Assistant to Care Practitioner. During this period, he achieved his SVQ Level 3, gained competencies in medication administration, and took on responsibilities as a floor manager and team leader. The experience and skills he developed enabled him to provide effective support to his team, and he saw first-hand how empowering staff has a direct and positive effect on the quality of care they provide.

Sebastian later returned to Professional Carers and now holds the role of Deputy Manager and Branch Trainer. His responsibilities include supporting the Registered Manager in providing leadership and quality oversight across the branch. He also designs and delivers a range of training sessions, ensuring that the team understands the importance of continuous professional development in providing compassionate, safe and empowering care.

Sebastian strongly believes that high-quality care begins with valuing and supporting staff. This includes listening to frontline workers, responding to their feedback, making decisions that benefit the team and creating opportunities for professional growth. Rachel joined Professional Carers in 2025 during an exciting period of growth for the organisation, supporting the expansion of services across Edinburgh and surrounding areas.

As Recruitment & Administration Coordinator, Rachel plays an important role in supporting both the people and operational side of the business. From assisting with recruitment and onboarding to helping ensure day-to-day processes run smoothly, Rachel brings organisation, positivity and a proactive approach to everything she does.

With a passion for supporting others and building strong working relationships, Rachel has quickly become a valued member of the team. Her friendly and approachable nature helps candidates and colleagues feel supported from the very beginning of their journey with Professional Carers.

Lauren joined Professional Carers in 2020 as a bank care worker with no previous experience during the COVID-19 pandemic. At the time, she was working full-time in retail when a friend recommended that she consider a role in care to help meet the increasing demand for essential care services. What began as a way to help during a challenging time quickly became a career she was passionate about.

In 2021, Lauren decided to join the team full-time and completed her SVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care. Her enjoyment of, and enthusiasm for, delivering high-quality care led to her promotion to On-Site Supervisor in 2023, before progressing to her current role as Care Coordinator in 2024.

Although Lauren has genuinely enjoyed every role throughout her journey, it is in her current position as Care Coordinator that she has truly found her passion. She thrives in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same and enjoys the challenge of problem-solving to ensure both clients and staff receive the best possible support.

As a Care Coordinator, Lauren is responsible for organising and managing staff rotas, coordinating care packages, liaising with families and healthcare professionals, arranging and implementing new care packages, and responding to changes that arise throughout the day. She also assists with care planning, audits and supervisions, working closely with the care and management teams to ensure services remain safe, responsive and person-centred. Lauren is currently working towards her SVQ Level 4 in Health and Social Care, ensuring she continues to learn and develop as she progresses in her role.

Lauren finds the most rewarding part of her job is knowing that the work undertaken by the team makes a genuine difference in people’s lives. Whether helping a client remain independent in their own home or supporting care staff to provide outstanding care, she is proud to be part of a team that places compassion, accountability, respect and excellence at the heart of everything it does. Read less
