India joined Professional Carers in 2022, bringing 11 years of experience in the social care sector to her role. She began her career as a Community Carer before progressing into Care Coordinator and Care Manager roles, giving her a deep understanding of both frontline care and leadership.
Originally studying Nursing, India worked part-time in social care alongside her degree. It was during this time that she discovered her true passion lay in social care, where she could build meaningful relationships and deliver genuinely person-centred support. She is committed to respecting individuals’ choices and empowering them to make informed decisions about their care.
India holds multiple qualifications in Health and Social Care and is currently working towards her SVQ Level 4, with plans to pursue the Care Services Leadership and Management Award once complete. She is passionate about ongoing development, both for herself and her team and is continually seeking ways to learn, grow, and enhance the care and support her team provides.
India shares, "I believe outstanding care starts with a supported and valued workforce. By leading by example, I aim to create a positive and inclusive environment where both staff and service users can thrive, ensuring every individual receives the highest quality care while feeling respected, informed, and empowered."
I began my career in the UK in 2015 after relocating from Poland, where I had previously worked as a paramedic. My first role in the UK was as a Community Carer in Edinburgh and South Queensferry, employed by Professional Carers. During this time, I learned a great deal about the nature of the carer’s role, the challenges it brings, and the vital impact it has on the lives of service users.
Between 2017 and 2022, I worked in a nursing home, progressing from Senior Care Assistant to Care Practitioner. During this period, I achieved my SVQ Level 3, gained Medication Administration competencies, and took on responsibilities as a floor manager and team leader. The experience and skills I developed enabled me to provide effective support to my team, and I saw firsthand how empowering staff has a direct and positive effect on the quality of care they deliver.
In my current role at Professional Carers, I am now undertaking the role of Deputy Manager / Branch Trainer. My responsibilities include supporting the Registered Manager in providing leadership and quality oversight of the branch, as well as designing and delivering a range of training sessions, ensuring that the team understands the importance of continuous professional development in providing compassionate, safe, and empowering care.
I strongly believe that high-quality care begins with valuing and supporting staff. This includes listening to frontline workers, responding to their feedback, making decisions that benefit the team, and creating opportunities for professional growth. I always make time to listen, offer support, and provide guidance so that staff feel confident, empowered, and capable in their roles.
