I have only been with Alcedo for a short time and the overall care I receive is of a very high standard. All the carers are very efficient and friendly and treat me with dignity all the time. Apart from washing and dressing they also do my skincare in the correct way and never rush me. Before they leave
they make sure that I am comfortable. On the rare occasion they are going to be late, they always phone to let me know.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Home Care Provider is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

The 5 points relating to the number of Positive Reviews for Alcedo Care Liverpool is based on 5 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as follows: 3 + 0.5 + 0.5 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 4.5

Lucy Deighton

Job Title: Operations Manager

My name is Lucy Deighton and I am proud to be the Operations Manager for Alcedo Care Southport/Preston/North Liverpool & Sefton/South Liverpool and Live-in Care England & Wales.

I have over 10 years of experience in the health and social care sector, starting as a home carer. My career in healthcare started off in college, studying for a Health and Social Diploma and working for a local home care agency within Southport. Once I completed my diploma, I then studied at the University of Central Lancashire where I successfully graduated from university with a health and social degree. Whilst I was studying, I worked within a local care home and worked up to become a Deputy Manager. I enjoyed this role however after 2 years, I decided I wanted to move back to home care services and further my knowledge. I was a care coordinator for a local homecare provider within the Southport area, coordinating a team of 50+ staff members and over 2000 hours of care a week.

Whilst co-ordinating I studied further and I successfully passed my QCF Level 5 NVQ in Leadership Management for Health and Social care for adults and children. Following my achievement, I wanted to put all my new knowledge into practice and am fortunately now the Operations Manager of Alcedo Care Southport/North Liverpool & Sefton/South Liverpool and Live-in Care England & Wales.

Throughout my career, I have always challenged myself to find ways to support and enable those in my care provision to receive the best possible care and support, by working with all multi-disciplinary healthcare teams and of course, my team of staff by ensuring they are well trained, organised, and professional. My role is to ensure all clients’ needs are met every day to the highest possible level.

My role is to ensure operational efficiency and drive the growth of the business while ensuring all clients’ needs are met every day to the highest possible level.

Job Title: Area Manager

My name is Laura and I’m the Area manager at Alcedo Care North Liverpool. My role is to oversee the day-to-day running of our homecare service. I am responsible for ensuring that our service meets all legal and regulatory requirements (according to CQC), and to ensure that we are providing excellent quality, person-centred care to our clients, always ensuring their needs are met above and beyond.

I’ve been working in the care sector for 18 years, starting out as a care assistant in a care home, then progressing to a senior care assistant and a deputy manager before becoming a registered manager. I have been with Alcedo Care since August 2022 and this is my first job within the homecare element of the care sector. It has opened my eyes to a whole new world of care of what care we can offer people, whilst in the comfort of their own home. I have completed an NVQ Level 2 & 3 in Health and Social Care, as well as a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Health and Social Care.

I chose to work in the care sector after helping look after several family members who required care, and also following in the footsteps of several family members who have or still do, work in the care sector.

Outside of work, I enjoy travelling to new places, going to the gym, reading a good book and walking with my Dachshund Tilly.

My name is Ali and I’m the Care Assessor at Alcedo Care Liverpool. As a Care Assessor, my role is to prepare and adapt person-centred care plans for our clients and their families. These might be produced with the client alone, but sometimes might also involve other healthcare professionals.

It is my responsibility to ensure our clients have the maximum amount of input possible into the care plan, and that it takes into account not only their personal and medical information, but their likes, dislikes, and what we can do to enrich their life and support independence I have completed my ‘Train the Trainer’ Training and I help deliver Induction and refresher training as well as assist with Care Coordination as needed.

I started as a carer for Alcedo Care in August 2021 after leaving the hospitality industry after completing a Sociology and Criminology Degree at Liverpool John Moores University. I graciously accepted the "New Carer of the Year" Award for 2021 after being with the company for only 5 months. Following this, I was promoted to Field Care Supervisor in March 2022, and I have now successfully completed my NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care and will be working towards getting my Level 5 qualification as soon as I can.

I have three children who I would not change for the world, they’re all mini-Me’s in one way or another. We enjoy going out on the weekends, walking one of the family’s dogs or playing in the park. Keeping three children entertained, who have as much energy as me is no easy feat. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Alcedo Care so far, and I look forward to seeing what the future holds.

Job Title: Head of Live In Care England & Wales

Hi, my name is Claire, and I am head of live-in care for Alcedo Care England & Wales. I have worked in the care sector for over twenty years, in several different settings, including care homes, care in the community and hospital settings. I started as a carer, then was promoted to a senior carer, before becoming a care coordinator. I then went on to become a Registered Manager for a domiciliary care company. I have a QCF Level 5 in Leadership within Social Care and Young People's Services.

I chose to work in the care sector because I am a very caring person and felt I had a lot to give to vulnerable people, less fortunate than myself. I chose to work for Alcedo Care for its professional structure and excellent reputation, coupled with the fact that Alcedo Care is a family-run business with excellent vision and values. In my spare time, I enjoy walking and going to the gym. I also enjoy travelling and going to concerts and festivals.
