Having a client-focused service ensures that clients receive the highest quality care in the comfort of their own homes. Clients receive a bespoke service that identifies their individual care needs and what is important to their lives. Health and Wellbeing team members are recruited on a values based system to ensure that only those with a compassionate, kind and caring nature join the fantastic team. They receive comprehensive training including both theory and practical, and it is ensured that all new team members 'shadow' an experienced team member on their visits to meet all the clients for extra peace of mind. The team don’t wear uniforms, to ensure a discreet service when supporting clients at home and in the community. They do however follow a dress code with ID badges to ensure your peace of mind and safety. This approach can help to break down barriers and ensure that clients build stronger relationships with the team members supporting them, who they often come to see as friends and companions rather than 'care givers'.

From a glowing recommendation in early August 2023, it was a short wait to put in place care for my husband with a marvellous man whom we have the greatest praise for. He is skilled in motivating, engaging, instilling trust and carefully managing my husband’s personal care and dementia. A bonus is that
I am more relaxed about the part that I play because I have ‘me times’ and have backup. There are two relief workers whom he has introduced in case he’s not available. The organisation has a person-centred/excellence ethos.

My 90-year-old mum came out of hospital into the care of Unique Homecare Services Lincoln Ltd. The service they provide is excellent allowing her to stay in her own home. Mum has been receiving care from Unique twice a day since the middle of March this year. Everyone is so friendly and kind - nothing is too much trouble. The office staff always respond promptly and politely and are very helpful. The carers are lovely with Mum - she looks forward to their visits. They

I get on well with the carers who visit me. They really are caring ladies and report on small or large things that they don't think are right, so I can contact my surgery. New carers are always shadowed before they attend me solo! This care company always ring me if a carer is going to be late due to
a previous client or traffic hold up. I am provided with regular lists of carers visiting me once a day for 45 minutes. I am always happy to see my carers each day.

I decided on bringing carers in to look after my mother for a couple of days a week, (Mum has Alzheimer's) the first contact with them they explained everything that they would do when they went to my mother's. Unique Homecare Services were thorough with their assessment to identify our mum's needs, and as a result, got everything right! The team in the office were professional and reassuring and the "on the ground" team of carers were kind, courteous, understanding and patient with our mum. The care they

Coming to Lincoln as a student, I needed to use a care agency for the first time and I couldn't have had a better experience! All the carers I have met have been absolutely lovely; very helpful and easy to talk to. They feel much more like a friend or an aunt helping out, than an external party. They've

The staff at Unique Homecare Services Lincoln could not have been better. From our initial enquiry, they got back to us in a timely way and had care in place for my mother, in her own home, within the time frame we requested. The carers themselves were excellent and put my mother at ease. They have
dealt with additional issues regarding my mother's situation, in a sensitive and professional way and supported both her and us through what has been a very stressful and difficult time. My mother broke her leg and whilst it was in a plaster cast, she had to be in a nursing home. As soon as the plaster cast was removed and she was in a leg brace she was able to return home. This would not have been possible without Unique Homecare who provide exactly the care she needs. Her carers are
delightful and she enjoys their company as well as the vital service they provide to help her maintain independent living, which is so very important to her.

When Mum came out of hospital we had no idea how to find a Home Care Provider to help her maintain independence in her own home. How happy we are to have found Unique Homecare! From the very first telephone contact, they listened to what Mum wanted and needed, and have reflected this in the care that
they provide. It's been fantastic to have consistency in the carer coming in to see Mum each day. Mum has loved pottering about with her plants, doing a few chores, going for a walk around the village, and having her carer collect shopping for her - a really personal and flexible service. We would wholeheartedly recommend Unique and their great team of carers to anyone wanting to arrange home care for a relative.

The care I receive from Unique Homecare Services has been excellent from the very first day. The carers ask me what I need help with so we can work together if needed. Having a regular carer is good for me, as I know who is coming. If there is anyone new coming, they let me know who is coming.

Unique Care's team have provided an excellent service for my mum who has Alzheimer's. Mum has greatly enjoyed the visits when she is able to chat with her carers, play scrabble and even do some crafting, which are all things she has missed doing. All of this has been very important in terms of Mum's
mental health, which we have seen improve after each visit. The care team have been extremely professional, responsive, caring and also have communicated with us extremely well throughout Mum's time with them, which has been of great comfort as we do not live close by.

Unique have been so accomodating as I've had to change the care plan almost on a weekly basis for a week period. Nothing has been a problem for Unique and the care provided has been nothing but professional. My father looks forward to his daily visit and we can rest assured he is getting the care/treatment
we wish for and don't need to worry about a thing.

The manager and the team have been looking after my mum, who has significant dementia, over the last 3 months following the loss of my dad. They have been professional, caring and thoughtful in their contact with her. Often remembering stories that she has told them and engaging in conversation about
her life when younger, where her memory leads her. They have always provided a high standard of care, showing real kindness and have enabled me to keep my mum in her own home, which I thought would not be possible. They are punctual and reactive to changes in my mum’s needs, from personal care to cooking fresh nutritious dinners, nothing is too much effort for the carers. I would completely recommend Unique as they are as their name suggests - Unique in their commitment to providing the best.

We cannot rate the service and care shown by our carers, high enough. Our parents were visiting us for a week and we knew Dad needed care to help us all enjoy their stay with us, thankfully we found Unique Homecare Services. I have only clicked the 'Neither Unlikely or Likely' category as I don't have any friends or family who would need this service. For me, it is the wrong question. However, the service that Unique Homecare Services provides is absolutely outstanding. Above all, they were totally flexible with our needs,
something which other caregiving companies were not willing to be. In this respect, they are truly Unique and I applaud them for having the understanding that not all caregiving needs fit into the same pigeonhole. If I had the opportunity to refer them to anyone, I certainly would. 100% professional, friendly, punctual, courteous and they listen. They are a godsend.

Rachael

Rachael O'Donnell

Job Title: Managing Director Joined: 2020

Rachael completed her Diploma in Mental Health Nursing at the University of Nottingham, Lincoln campus in 2005.


She went on to spend 13 years working in forensic services gaining a wealth of experience in the care and treatment of service users with acute mental illnesses and complex needs. During this time also achieved a BSc (Hons) Degree in Mental Health and Social Care.


In 2018 Rachael joined the Continuing Healthcare Team in Bassetlaw in the role of Nurse Assessor working alongside the CCG. This required skills and knowledge in the provision and commissioning of care in the community through conducting comprehensive assessments of the mental and physical health needs of service users and their subsequent care requirements to ensure that those needs were met to ensure the best quality of life.


In the community, she saw first-hand the lack of high-quality care services in the community, with many offering poor continuity of care, changeable visit times and a lack of peace of mind for clients and their families. She started Unique Homecare Lincoln Ltd in 2020 with a vision of building a company that provided only the highest quality of service to each and every one of the clients, and a workplace where team members are nurtured and feel valued in their roles.

Kelly has extensive experience in the Teaching and Education sector, joining Unique 3 years ago following a career change. Kelly brings with her a wealth of transferable experience and has progressed from starting as a Health and Well-being Team Member to Care co-ordinator, and is now our Registered Manager!
