My dad received care from Galilee for a number of months. Specifically, one carer, who visited him three times per day. Also, other carers sometimes visited, who were equally great with my dad. My dad's main carer, really looked after my dad. He absolutely loved her. Her manner was fantastic and he
looked forward to seeing her as she treated him with great dignity and respect. She used to do whatever he asked and nothing was too much trouble. She would contact me and my brother if there are any concerns about our dad. All the carers from Galilee were great. Thank you so much.

During the first ever visit the young male carer put the bedpan under my mum the wrong way round and whacked my mum's bed sore. My mum who has terminal breast cancer screamed in agony and when I checked the bed sore it had a bruise either side of it and a cut above it. My mum and I are former highly
experienced and qualified carers and to get my mum out of hospital we had no choice about employing this company. My mum did not want to have male carers due to only being widowed 18 months ago and we repeatedly had male carers turn up. One of the male carers even told me that I had to let male carers in or else and was quite threatening and scared me so I asked him to move away from me as I was the victim of spousal abuse, as he left my mum's house he banged the front door. My mum did have 4 lovely carers from this company which is why I haven't given 1 star. My mum and I have both been disrespected by carers from this company. Do not use if leaving a relative unsupervised with the carers.

I have been looked after by Galilee since I left the hospital in April 2022.
I have received consistently high standards of care from the staff. I see the same carer every day and this is one of the best aspects of this company.
The carers are always polite, cheerful and considerate and leave me
with the feeling that it is more than just a job to them.
I have had experience with other care companies, Galilee is by far the best.
I hope that they continue to provide my care in the future.

Mum was sent home from hospital with this care company for double-handed calls 4 times a day, bed-bound. Wow, the staff was very rough with my mum who has advanced dementia. They did not talk to her and say what they were going to do. Mum got very upset and aggressive with them because she did not understand
what was happening to her. I would not recommend this company at all. Mum now has better care, like she should have in the first place.

Thank you for your review. All our staff are trained in dementia care, however, we will review our dementia training and continue to support our clients living with dementia and their relatives.

My mum has been receiving three times daily care from your staff for less than a week but I just want to say how impressed and happy I am with the way she is being treated.
From the first visit when your lovely carer sang to her and Mum smiled I knew it was going to be okay. I have been Mum's carer
for over two years but as she has suddenly become more difficult to move on my own we have had to get help. Every one of your staff that has visited has been wonderful.
Thank you so much.

Avoid, avoid.
If Social Services allocate you this company challenge it.
There are serious safeguarding issues with this company. Management of this business is dire. Social Services allocated this company for my nan, who required two staff to attend each visit. Bedbound, unable to speak for herself,
and terminally ill. Never completed hours allocated, despite needing to make full use of the time. If delayed for any reason this would be taken off from the allocated visiting time. Nan had been left over seven and a half hours, no food, water or being changed, had double soiled herself and could do nothing about it. No one was told they were not attending and when they did turn up at 4 pm they termed this as her lunchtime. Left for forty minutes and returned for tea time visit. The bed was left stained.
She had not been washed, her hands were filthy, unable to see out of her eyes as they had not cleaned. Property left in a mess. Staff turned up solo then could not change her and left her double soiled. Clearly in it for the money, Galilee doesn't care.

Dear Claire, I am deeply saddened that you feel this way even after I have had a meeting with your mum, apologised to your mum and nan and also to you over the phone. I have thoroughly investigated…read more

After our Mother was sent home terminally ill from hospital, Galilee Care swung into action immediately. Every member of the team we met and who cared for our Mum, was kind, gentle, considerate and understanding of her, and our needs. Nothing was too much trouble and although her needs were limited
as she was bedbound (and we were also caring for her), the team were always happy to listen to our concerns and give advice. We would not hesitate to recommend this company to those in need of care at home.

We rate most services according to how safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led they are, using four levels:
Outstanding - the service is performing exceptionally well.
Good - the service is performing well and meeting our expectations.
Requires improvement - the service isn't performing as well as it should and we have told the service how it must improve.
Inadequate - the service is performing badly and we've taken enforcement action against the provider of the service.
No rating/under appeal/rating suspended - there are some services which we can't rate, while some might be under appeal from the provider. Suspended ratings are being reviewed by us and will be published soon.
Ticks and crosses
We don't rate every type of service. For services we haven't rated we use ticks and crosses to show whether we've asked them to take further action or taken enforcement action against them.
There's no need for the service to take further action. If this service has not had a CQC inspection since it registered with us, our judgement may be based on our assessment of declarations and evidence supplied by the service.
The service must make improvements.
At least one standard in this area was not being met when we inspected the service and we have taken enforcement action.
