My experience of Kingsway Care is that all of their carers are friendly, willing and cheerful in helping me to live as normally as possible in my own home. They arrive on time and on the rare occasion when delayed the management contact me promptly. Their keeping of extensive client notes and routine shadowing for new staff means I get appropriate care from whoever attends. This variety of carers I find stimulating to talk to and with whom to joke.

Reply from Vicky Haines, Managing Director at Kingsway Care (Brighton, Hove & Worthing)

Thank you for such a lovely review. The carers that visit you always comment that they enjoy laughing and listening to your jokes. You are always a pleasure to support.

From my first contact with Kingsway last summer when my dad was in hospital, I have been nothing but impressed with the care and professionalism of the Kingsway team. The support the Kingsway caregivers have given my elderly father since he was discharged from hospital has been consistently excellent. Nothing is too much trouble, the caregivers are punctual, professional, friendly and caring and I know my dad looks forward to their visits.
From my professional role I am aware that recruiting and retaining excellent carers is really challenging, but Kingsway seem to excel with their recruitment.

Many organisations say they work in a client-centred way but in my experience, few actually consistently deliver regarding this. In my view the Kingsway team absolutely do, and right from the point of initial assessment onwards, this has been so clear to see. I cannot recommend the Kingsway team highly enough.

Reply from Vicky Haines, Managing Director at Kingsway Care (Brighton, Hove & Worthing)

Hello, thank you so much for such a lovely review. Supporting your dad has been a joy for all of the caregivers that visit him and we are really happy that he is getting so much out of his time with them. We choose our team very carefully to ensure that they all provide a wonderful mixture of professionalism, high quality care and kindness. Thank you

Kingsway caregivers have been a godsend. After spending 4 months in hospital, my daughter arranged caregivers from Kingsway Care. I was hesitant at first. Now I wouldn’t be without them. They call in daily - they instantly cheer me up as they are so caring. I see my manager consistently who gives me support and also updates me on the other parts of Kingsway I could use if I were able to get out more - nothing is too much trouble. My meds are all collected and put on order by them all. I have consistency of careers which helps but having said that I really like everyone they have sent to help me. I would also like to thank you of the team - every time we call the office they know me and everything about my care package.

Reply from Vicky Haines, Operations Director at Kingsway Care (Brighton, Hove & Worthing)

Thank you for such a wonderful, kind review. We are so happy that despite your initial caution around receiving care, you have found our carers and overall service to be a part of your day that you wouldn't be without. Having supported you myself, I can say that you are an absolute joy to spend time with and we would love to see you at our coffee shop sometime soon.

My partner has Alzheimer's/vascular dementia and is 68 years old. Last year, we did not have any support until incontinence set in. We started having help from Kingsway Care basically as companionship, but this soon developed to personal care which we receive twice a day now as the condition has worsened. All the caregivers have been fantastic - patient, timely and professional. The management support for us both, and for the staff they employ, has been hands-on, considerate, flexible and friendly. If we had not found Kingsway Care I really do not know what we would have done. They have eased a terribly difficult situation.

Reply from Vicky Haines, Managing Director at Kingsway Care (Brighton, Hove & Worthing)

Thank you for such a wonderful review. We understand that the past year has been quite difficult in many ways, but it is lovely to hear that Kingsway Care have managed to ease some of the challenges you have both faced. Your partner is an absolute joy to spend time with and I know that her caregivers have found her to be really engaging and fun to be around.

Kingsway Care are without exception a wonderful, kind community of people. They cared for my mother over a period of 18 months until her death in December 2022. Throughout this time the care has been exceptional. My mother looked forward to her daily visits and he chats with her carer whilst being attended to. During my mother's last weeks, the kindness and empathy shown to her was fantastic and the carers sat with her in her final hours, soothing and reassuring her. My father, brothers and I cannot thank Kingsway enough.

Whilst I am not a long user of Kingsway Care, I have no hesitation in recommending their service.
A Kingsway staff member calls on a regular appointment to provide a full bathing procedure.

I can confirm that they are always friendly, efficient and skillful carers being most concerned for my safety and well-being. They always arrive promptly at the appointments times and their reliability is assured.

My mum is a fiercely independent 94-year-old who is, like many in her generation, proudly stoical and unwilling to admit she needs help of any kind. However, after a more serious fall and two weeks in residential respite care in January 2022, she was persuaded to accept some help with some weekly tasks - shopping, cleaning, laundry and making a meal. Kingsway was recommended and after our initial, very successful meeting Mum was matched with 2 carers. At first, she was a little perplexed that they were both men! But one of them she quickly grew to enjoy, looked forward to his visits and was always very animated and full of stories when I saw her after he'd been there. Since then she has had 2 other carers - both of whom she also absolutely loves. They are sensitive to her needs, manage her idiosyncracies and make her delicious meals that really uplift her spirits. Having this service has made a huge difference to all of us in the family - but most importantly for mum. Thank you all.

My mum lives in sheltered accommodation and a few months ago it became apparent that she needed additional help with daily tasks, including meal preparation, personal care and medication.
The Kingsway team took the time to speak to Mum and I about the support she required and detailed it all in her care plan, which was shared with us both.
Mum has had 1 main caregiver, with others supporting over weekends and I cannot fault any of them. Not only have they supported Mum but they’ve also been there for a friendly chat too.
Just recently, I have been isolating with covid and therefore have been unable to support my mum with medication.
Kingsway were very flexible and arranged for additional visits as well as carrying out extra tasks that were above and beyond their remit.
I feel so lucky that they were on hand to help and it gave me complete peace of mind that Mum had all the support she needed when I couldn’t be there.

I can’t fault the service and care we have received.

The support and help provided by Kingsway Care has been outstanding. Our family was looking to get my mum out of hospital urgently. Kingsway Care understood the issues and were there to help at very short notice indeed. The head of operations at Kingsway Care was outstanding. I spoke to her on a Wednesday, was having a video call with her and a fantastic live in carer on the Thursday and Mum came out of hospital on the Friday. The head of operations was there throughout making this all work, liaising with the hospital discharge team and putting together a care plan for Mum. The carer provided through Kingsway was fantastic, exactly the person Mum needed to see her on her way to recovery. Kingsway Care comes with wholehearted recommendations from me, my mum and our family.

Wow, what a fantastic company Kingsway Care (Sussex) are. I live in Bristol and work within social care. My elderly father lives in Sussex and requires extra help (cleaning, ironing, general support). I contacted Kingsway Care after looking for agencies on the internet. I cannot recommend this company enough, they go above and beyond their normal duty. My dad has been given a new lease of life. He talks about his carer as a friend and she really is his guardian angel. All the staff are so friendly and polite. I feel very lucky to have found such a caring company. Both my dad and his carer(s) clicked immediately. They treat my dad with the dignity and respect he deserves and I cannot thank Kingsway Care enough.

My name is Olly and I am the Founder of Kingsway Care.

I started the company to be the best home care provider in Sussex and the best employer too. Our Clients come first and we provide outstanding care at home services with imagination and joy. My team is handpicked, well-paid, supported and trained. I actively encourage my employees to enjoy their jobs and create quality time and fun experiences with Kingsway Care Clients as well as outstanding care.

Before Kingsway Care, I worked in software sales but always took on voluntary work to balance my core desire to help people. I have been a volunteer Special Constable and was my Great Aunt Lily’s primary carer during the last years of her life. Now, I choose to do daily care visits because I find it so rewarding. I don’t want to have a management team stuck in the office so encourage every team member to do care visits too.

Olly lives in Hove and socially is known as the instigator of fun. He is always planning day trips, evenings out, holidays, little treats – anything to make life more enjoyable for friends and family. And now Kingsway Care Clients and CareGivers can experience the same treatment.
