Right at Home (Loughborough) is part of the Right at Home UK home care provider family. The branch offers home care to adults with a variety of health needs.

Care plans are created for each individual in order to provide personalised care that supports and empowers each client to live the way they choose.

The branch works in an entirely person-centred way, completely avoiding the 'time and task' method by not tendering to the local authority. This ensures that visit times are consistent and reliable and there is always time to care. Minimum visit times are 30 minutes although 60 minutes calls are preferred.

The Carers are not intensively rostered with ample travel time between visits and never expected to be in two places at once. The health and welfare of their Carers is of utmost importance as well as a duty of care but, it is so much more than that.

The best quality and most compassionate and care is delivered by Carers who are happy, supported and appreciated.

The foundation of all our care is a one hour visit, because we don't think effective, compassionate care can be delivered in less. However if only a thirty minute or forty-five minute call is require, in the evening for example we are very happy to accommodate that. There is no minimum provision, if the client only wants or needs, one hour a week we are delighted to assist.

Right at Home (Loughborough) looked after me after I had undergone a hip replacement in May 2025, when they took over my post-operative care following on from my family. I was required by the surgeon to wear anti-DVT socks for the six weeks following the operation -- an impossible task for me to perform.
So for four weeks, RaH carers visited me twice daily to see to the (dratted but necessary) socks and to give me care and support as needed as I regained strength and ability. It was apparent to me that every single carer who visited me was extremely well-trained in every aspect of the role. I enjoyed the companionship of each of them, despite my challenging circumstances which, of course, continued to improve with time. From first contact to finish, the RaH management proved extremely capable, flexible and user-friendly. As the time came to ditch the socks and my care was no longer needed, there was some regret, but I am whole-heartedly happy to recommend this care-providing company.

Thank you very much. Respite visits are an essential service for the client and particularly the client's family. Being a full time carer is physically, mentally and emotionally very demanding and carer fatigue is very real. We offer this for just a day or two or extended periods, it is of course all dependent on the client and their family. It also serves very well as an introduction to care to which, sometimes, there can be some anxiety or resistance. It was a pleasure to support your family and we look forward to the next time.

Right at Home have been helping my parents live safely at home for three years or so now. They have have been really responsive to changing needs and the quality of service is very consistent. The management team have always responded quickly to requests or concerns.
My father has been particularly
struck that not only are they providing a very professional service, but that they do genuinely care about his wellbeing. Contact with the carers themselves help keep my parents engaged with the wider world in a way that wouldn't otherwise be possible and there are many examples of when they have gone above and beyond what could be expected.

The company is very efficient, responding quickly to emails, sending schedules and confirming arrangements. My father's carers were kind and compassionate, but efficient in the care they provided. The company has much to recommend it.

This is the essence of person centered care which requires a professional but entirely human approach. I fully understand the four star score for value for money but our fees are entirely driven by both National Minimum Wage and soon, the increase in Employers National Insurance Contributions. The costs of providing care which meets the CQC's standards of being Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led are now huge and sadly will only increase. Thank you for your considered review.

My mother required live-in night support whilst she recovered from a health issue.
Right at Home was very responsive and able to meet our requirements in a matter of a few days. More importantly, the care was excellent and the people who "slept in" overnight with my mother were terrific, the ability
to have consistent faces was important for my mother as she could develop a trusting relationship which she did very quickly. Cannot recommend these folks highly enough.

The importance of having genuinely caring staff who, have the time for conversation and to listen, should never be overlooked. This time also allows trained, professional caregivers to observe and monitor: is the client in good spirits?, are they communicating as usual, are they sitting comfortably -essentially looking for changes which could indicate, infection, progression of a condition or a low mood, all of which are hugely significant. This is person-centred care.

The Right at Home team are all caring individuals who are providing safe and effective care for my mother. She requires a daily one-hour visit to provide companionship, welfare check and administration of medicines. Her needs are met in an uplifting, dignified and caring way.

My husband has dementia and requires help with personal care. The management team at Right At Home in Loughborough were incredibly helpful and thorough with a very 'can do' attitude. The staff who care for my husband are well-trained and meticulous. They have total respect for both my husband and my
home and we both look forward to their visits. They are patient, kind and always good-humoured - a vital asset when caring for someone with dementia.
They do not leave us until I am entirely happy and my husband is comfortable and settled.

We are very unusual in having our own in-house personal care training which, is usually taught on the job. We have very high standards for our CareGivers which, begin with initial screening, through induction and continue into five days of induction training. We see induction training as very much part of the on-boarding process and not everyone who starts the training goes on to finish it. My aunty has required care in her home since two periods of hospitalisation at the end of 2023. The care which has been provided by Right at Home is exceptional. The supervisory and management team keep up excellent communication and offer superb advice and suggestions. This is very welcome when trying
to look after an elderly relative as it is often very difficult to make informed decisions about their health and wellbeing when it is something you are not experienced with. The caregivers are so kind and caring, very often going above and beyond their standard duties to help out both my aunty and us, her close family. Myself and other close family members live over an hour away from my aunty, so it's very comforting to know that she is in such good hands. Right at Home, you are doing an excellent job - thank you.

My mother-in-law needed care suddenly after a short illness. I rang Right at Home Loughborough who answered the phone straight away, they arranged everything in a professional, friendly way. The carers arrived at more or less the same time each day. They helped my mother-in-law to get dressed, prepped
breakfast and other meals, hot drinks etc. The staff were clean and well presented and more than helpful, cleaning the bathroom, making beds, and putting the vacuum around when asked to do so. Very good service, not cheap but worth it.

Thank you for your comments about our service. Our rosters are prepared a week in advance, so if there are some slight changes in times, clients are aware. It is our policy for our caregivers to advise the office if they are running late so that we, in turn, can let our clients know. We also pay our CareGivers above the National Living Wage, so not only are we looking after our caregivers, but we can attract and retain the best. Our prices are therefore directly linked to the National Living Wage which, has increased alot and frequently. There is also a significant cost in ensuring that we follow the CQC's key lines of enquiry, which means that the service must be safe, caring, responsive, effective and well-led. Unfortunately, it is now very expensive to run a fully compliant care company. Thanks again for your comments.

Right at Home Loughborough are an outstanding provider of care services. They have provided care for my mother for three days per week, for over eighteen months. The care staff are all friendly and extremely competent. The management systems kept at her home, ensure that any issues are reported and
notified to other carers, and escalated if required. The company has also helped provide other services including advice on how to claim attendance allowance.

Right at Home are providing outstanding care to my mother. They have been very careful to understand her needs and match her with a carer who has helped her adjust as she is needing increasing levels of support. David Newcombe

Job Title: Managing Director

David has a commercial and general management background. During 2020, he, like many, questioned if there could be, or should be, more to his working life. The answer was a resounding yes, and he realised that the route to care had been signposted many times in his life, and he was introduced to Right at Home UK. He now believes moving into care was the best decision he has ever made, as it is truly a privilege to work within this sector and serve the community.

Job Title: Registered Manager

As the Registered Manager, Claire has responsibility for both the quality and the compliance of the care delivered. This means she will be very familiar with the needs of every client and will have interviewed every Carer herself. The role of the RM within a care company is most important, as they are the first point of call for the CQC.


Claire has a Degree in Psychology with Health Studies and has worked in the care sector for over twenty years. During this time, Claire has amassed valuable experience in all areas of care.

The Care Co-Ordinator is responsible for scheduling calls for our Carers to fit in with the requirements of the Clients, whilst also planning the most effective routes with sufficient travelling time between calls. Danielle ensures that visits are made and that care is delivered in a timely manner. With many years in the Care sector, Danielle has a Level Three Diploma in Health and Social Care and a Foundation degree in Nursing. Before taking on this role, Danielle was previously our Senior Carer.

In her role as a Field Care Supervisor, Mandy conducts supervisions with Carers and reviews with Clients as well as sharing the ‘on-call’, out-of-hours duties with Claire, Danielle and Ru.
