The team at Home Instead Fife have been awesome over the last 18 months or so in helping look after my aging parents (92 and 93) at their retirement flat in St Andrews, especially now that my Mother is losing her mental faculties and my Father his mobility. It is their heartfelt desire they remain together in their own home for as long as is possible, and the current two visits a day by the kind and patient Home Instead team have been key to allowing this to happen safely. As myself and my sister live some distance away it is very helpful to see on the App the summaries uploaded swiftly after each visit - giving us the confidence that my parents are well looked after and allowing us to better plan our visits and support.
The carers provided by Home Instead (East Fife) have been helping me with my mother, who is no longer able to manage at home. She had an accident and they have stepped in to help with her personal care, light housework and been a bright and friendly face to chat to. I am very grateful for the service provided by the capable staff and found them through a local advertisement, but it has all worked out very well. They have taken into consideration my mother's routine and fitted around it, for which my brother and I are very happy.
Thank you for the kind review. We are happy that the Care Professionals have managed to settle in quickly around your mother's routine and that you and your brother have piece of mind
Great communication and feedback from all staff, which supports the care and wellbeing of the service user. The service is flexible and has provided additional cover and increased services on request. The service users finds the carers/companions friendly, respectful, patient and helpful. The service user looks forward to seeing the carers/companions. It feels like the care and wellbeing of the service user is a team effort between the service, family and service user.
Thank you for the positive feedback. It is great to see that we are all working together and managed to find the additional cover when requested and also the service is evolving as needed
Home Instead (East Fife) came to assist me with my dad in December last year, partly due to my mum being in a care home with advanced vascular dementia and dad finding it difficult to deal with her diagnosis, and living on his own. The Home Instead (East Fife) team have been absolutely amazing in supporting dad (with help at home and companionship), and myself as I work full time and on shifts. Our healthcare professional has been outstanding with dad, a friendly face to look forward to seeing, going shopping together, gardening or just sitting and talking with a cup of tea and cake! She has also helped and supported me immensely in the background, knowing that my dad is being supported twice a week while I'm at work, until I am on my days off and we can go and visit mum together. I would highly recommend this outstanding team for their dedication and care to our loved ones. Thank you.
Thank you for the kind review. It is great to hear that your Dad has good relationship with the Care Professionals and that you have piece of mind when you are working that your Dad is being looked after.
We found Home Instead through the Council. They have been great at supporting us all in helping Mum to remain safely in her own home. The carers who attend are all very kind and helpful, and are reliable about passing on any relevant information. Mum has formed a good bond with one of the carers in particular, but seems to get along with them all.
Thank you for your kind words. It is great to hear that your Mum is forming good relationships with the Care Professionals, we will be sure to pass this back to them.
My dads care requirements increased throughout that period and Home Instead responded to his increasing needs and provided stability and continuity with the individuals who cared for my father.
The care and friendship provided, in particular by A, was exceptional and I would not hesitate to recommend Home Instead to others.
Thank you so much for the review. It was a pleasure looking after you father and we will ensure that the Care Professionals receive the great feedback
It is a huge relief to know that we can go away for periods and leave my mother-in-law in the care of such an excellent carer.
Thank you for the lovey Feedback. It was great that we were able to look after your Mother-In-Law to allow you to have a well deserved rest. We will ensure we pass the feedback onto the Care Professional
We recently travelled to Fife to attend our sons wedding, I was concerned that on the day of the wedding after carrying out my husbands care needs, showering and dressing etc, that I would have neither the time, or energy, to have time to spend on getting myself ready on such an important day to us. I contacted Home Instead and was quickly reassured that they could provide help. After an assessment of my husbands needs we were allocated a carer. On the day of the wedding a lovely young lady arrived at our Hotel, she was friendly, caring and efficient. Knowing that my husband was in good hands I was able to have a relaxing morning being pampered and getting myself wedding ready! I cannot recommend Home Instead highly enough, they made such a difference to our day. Thank you so much for making our special day!!
Thank you so much for the review. I am glad we were able to allow you time to enjoy getting ready for your sons wedding and help your husband get ready for the big day.
Staff and the Home Care Team provided excellent support and assistance when Dad had to go into hospital and ensured that everything was in place for him on his return. They really did go above and beyond to ensure continuity for Dad and even went to visit him in hospital.
We (the family) are so grateful for this support. Without this, Dad would have to go into a Care Home.
Thank you for the review. I am glad that we were able to provide the support while your Dad was in hospital and also for a successful discharge to allow him home. I will pass on this feedback to the team
After a helpful assessment visit, the care, which she required, was provided very promptly and it was also possible to increase the service, on a temporary basis, when circumstances changed at short notice.
We found that all members of staff were friendly, informed and efficient in meeting my sister's needs, giving her, and the family, welcome reassurance as she adjusted to being back at home.
Thank you so much for your kind review. I am glad your sister had such a positive experience on her discharge from hospital and ongoing visits. I will ensure this is past onto the relevant Care Professionals
Mum has really enjoyed having her carer visit each week. Trips out for a cup of tea, staying in and chatting with her company and also help shopping. Its been highlight of her week.
Something she really looks forward to. My step father has felt the benefit of having this for Mum.
As I live 2 hours away it has taken some pressure off too.
Thank you for taking time to complete the review. It is great to hear that the Care Profesionals have made such a positive impact with not just your Mum but also allowing some respite for you and your step-father.
Homeinstead provide support one hour per day on four days per week to take my 90 year old father shopping, do some cleaning, cook some meals and make sure he is well. We have been very pleased with the service and have found the company helpful and willing to go the extra mile to meet my dad's particular needs.
Thank you for taking the time to review. We are pleased that your father and the family are happy with the service and will pass this feedback onto the Care Professionals
The carers are all lovely to mum. As a family we are very happy with the level of care mum gets. Mum was a bit reluctant to get help showering but the carers helped her to accept the care and she now looks forward to their visits. They have all been so friendly to her.
Thank you for the review. It is great to hear that your mum looks forward to her visits. We will pass this back to the Care Pro's
I have no hesitation in recommending the company for the dignity, personal care and friendliness she was given.
It has been a privilege looking after your Aunt. Many thanks for the review we will ensure we pass the comments onto the Care Professionals
Home Instead East Fife has been supporting my mother-in-law since February 2024. The level of support has far exceeded the expectations of my family and I. From the start, the overall service is highly professional. Every aspect is delivered exactly as promised. But most important are the carers. My mother-in-law deeply values the companionship and friendship they have all provided. This has made her very happy and contented. As a family, we are deeply grateful.
Thank you very much for the kind review, will ensure the Care Professionals are recognised. It is a pleasure looking after your mother-in-law.
I have been my husband's carer for quite a number of years as he has quite a few health problems including heart and lung problems. Since December 2022 he was diagnosed with cancer of the liver and no treatment prescribed due to his heart and lung condition. My daughter felt I needed a break and found out about Home Instead. With their help of 4 hours a day over the 3 days I was away and arranging family support as well my husband was supported very adequately without him feeling any distress resulting in me being able to relax and make the most of the arrangements. Home Instead was an excellent service with a good understanding of the type of support needed to give my husband confidence in the staff and an enjoyable experience.
Thank you for your kind words, we will ensure to pass this onto the care professionals. It was a pleasure supporting your husband to allow you have a well-deserved break without worrying.
My 'designated lead carer' from you was thankfully available for both in January. We work well together. She happily tends to my needs without constant instruction and has become increasingly aware of my ever-changing condition, ready to address it accordingly. Caring for someone in their own home is not just a list of tasks. Helping your client enjoy life despite illness and disability is very important. Feeling valued, encouraging and supporting 'my interests' - music making through my piano and my voice - singing helps my impaired lung capacity, being my helping hand whilst I create cakes - all matter to me and I hope to give pleasure to others.

First class service from the ladies who come on a Thursday. After losing my wife, they have filled a gap to the highest standard.
Thank you so much for the review. We are honoured to be able support you. We will ensure the care professional receives your feedback.
The manager and staff could not be nicer to me visiting personally.
As to the service our carer gives to Dad, it's very good, attending to any of his needs.
Thanks.
Thank you very much for the kind review. We have a saying about the office if the lights are on someone is home so more than welcome to come in. We are proud to be able to support your dad
From our first contact with the care manager, we were in safe hands. Our daughter’s wedding was weeks away, we wanted Gran and Grandad there.
The manager captured our requirements in a caring way, she understood the importance of family and came to Grandad’s house together with her chosen carer.
“What a lovely girl my carer was, she was at my side all day and helped me to enjoy my wedding meal. Gran and I were delighted to be able to spend the day in the hotel, so much better and more memorable than looking at wedding pictures after the event. Please thank her, she was brilliant.”
The carer is passionate about looking after the elderly, showing she cares in so many ways. She managed Grandad out and back from the restrooms, she travelled to and from the wedding with Grandad, making sure both were comfortably in bed before she left them.
We wouldn’t hesitate to return in the times ahead.
We are so happy to have helped in making your daughter's wedding special. We will ensure to feedback to the Care Pro with kind words.

I was born and raised in Edinburgh and completed my degree at St Andrews University. I spent nearly 20 years working in various roles in the oil and gas industry across the world. After parenthood came along, I was keen to return to Scotland and live closer to my parents. I saw this as a key time to take a leap of faith and set up a new business.
My vision for Home Instead East Fife is establishing a company that helps older people continue to live well at home. I want to run a business that involves helping the community and getting a feeling of making a worthwhile difference.
Outside of the office, I am keen on sports; playing golf and swimming and watching rugby. I enjoy spending time with the family and traveling.
I was born in Edinburgh and moved to Fife fifteen years ago. I am a proud mum of two, one being my son, and the other being my dog. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, friends and walking several dogs with my friend.
I have worked in the care sector, predominantly elderly care, for 33 years. In my recent post, I was a care manager for a care home for 25 years.
I was born & raised in Fife. I stayed in central Fife whilst I was growing up and then moved to East Fife once I had settled and started my own family.
I have worked in the Care sector for the past 10 years. I also have experience caring for a Family member, so I know what it is like on either side of this profession. This has given me the perfect conditioning to be a care professional, being patient and making a difference to people’s lives.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I love going for walks at our local beach.
I was born and raised in East Fife and currently still stay here with my partner and young son.
