Care assistants have made huge efforts to ensure our father feels valued and respected, by listening and responding to his requests, by cooking tempting meals and by sitting and chatting with him. They have gained his trust and respect and have built a positive and productive relationship with him.
The team manager is outstanding in all that she does from care visits, to dealing with us as clients, and seems able to resolve any crisis - and always with a smile!
Communication is excellent. We are informed the moment there is an issue, and our questions and concerns, however small, are addressed promptly.
As our result, our father's quality of life has improved greatly.

Very kind, friendly staff, deal with my dad's needs very well. We have a carer every morning who gets Dad up, washed and dressed very efficiently, chats nicely to him which is a great comfort to Mum. We would recommend to anyone else needing care.

Their help was invaluable, it enabled me to rest my foot after surgery. I’m a full-time caregiver for my husband and the first 8 weeks after surgery my daughter and son-in-law moved in to lighten the load. We used Caremark for two weeks after they left to break me back into caring for my husband. We had them cook our evening meals which were delicious and the kitchen was left spotless. Would recommend this service, we accessed via careers support.

Companionship was arranged for my elderly mother. The field care supervisor visited and Mum had a detailed assessment of her needs. I was very impressed with the professionalism and how detailed the assessment was completed for Mum's needs. Caremark Ashford and Shepway want to give peace of mind to the client's family to ensure that the client is well-matched with the carer who visits. Mum has had visits by both carer and managers on occasions to ensure that things are going smoothly with the client. They are an exceptional care company who really pride on the services which they offer and genuinely care for both clients and families. I would highly recommend.

I was getting increasingly worried about my 87-year-old Dad living on his own. He was needing more TLC than I could give him and I did not know where to turn. I rang Caremark and had a chat. After a meeting with them at Dad's home I could sense my Dad's acceptance of change immediately - something that never happens, so knew he was comfortable, which is obviously critical. I also felt a massive weight lifted from me, and having had the care in place for a couple of weeks now I already feel like I am returning to being a daughter. The team are brilliant - friendly, professional, kind and communicative. I would recommend anyone who is worried about a relative to contact Caremark. The first step is the hardest, but I am so glad to have found them.

Caremark have been asked to sit with Mum two afternoons a week for a few weeks. The carers have arrived on time and been very pleasant and engaging with Mum. This cover has enabled me to have a break, knowing Mum (ninety years old) is being assisted and looked after. We are hoping to employ Caremark to look after Mum on a more permanent basis once the care package has been authorised.

Excellent supervisor support, who has coped brilliantly with my mother who has advanced dementia. Very patient, kind and supportive. It has also helped me enormously to have some much needed relief from supporting Mum.

I can not praise this service enough; they have been a breath of fresh air from the other care services that my dad has had. Meet the Team (3)
James started his career in IT, working from the ground up as a support engineer, through the ranks to senior engineer positions and network administrator roles responsible for the infrastructure, integrity and reliability of systems for big multinationals and SMEs. James has varied exposure to many different industries that have made use of his knowledge, from stock brokerage houses and banks to fruit importers and superyacht owners.
In the last few years, James has been looking for a way to contribute to society in a more meaningful way. James chose to leave IT and set up Caremark in Ashford, covering the Ashford and Shepway districts in Kent. James has a keen emotional interest in making sure care provision is of the highest standards for those that need it, due to some of his own family members’ experiences when receiving care.
In his free time, James enjoys long walks on the coast with his partner and their dogs, reading, running and studying new skills.
Barbra has worked in the Health and Social Care sector since 2008. She started as a Healthcare Assistant in a local care home, where her confidence grew and soon she became a Senior Healthcare Assistant. From here Barbra went on to a Nursing home and spent 9 months there only leaving to join the NHS. Barbra worked in a General Surgical ward, learning from nurses and improving her knowledge and skills. After 4 years working in a ward, Barbra decided she wanted to work in Infection Control, where she supported Infection control nurses in maintaining and improving the infection control standards within the local hospitals.
After working in infection control for almost 2 years, Barbra became a Deputy Manager for a domiciliary care company based in Ashford, where she gained further knowledge and skills. Barbra ran the business in the absence of the Registered Manager and gained the confidence to be able to do this on a permanent basis. She was recently nominated for the Frontline Leader award for KICA, showing she can be a successful frontline leader.
Barbra enjoys working in the care sector as it makes a difference in individuals’ lives, where they may only see care workers throughout the day, due to not having any family and friends, or because their family isn’t able to take care of them.
In her role as Care Manager at Caremark Ashford & Shepway, Barbra is looking forward to making a difference to those that require care, support, and companionship, where her role will involve employing care workers and other employees with the same values as her own. Barbra prides herself on being approachable and being able to empower others to be the best they can be.
Ever since Kirstin watched her Mum and stepdad care for her Grandad towards his end of life, she has been very passionate about care. It’s something she’s always dreamed of having a career in. Although caring can be challenging, it’s an extremely rewarding job. Kirstin wants to be there to support customers whilst still letting them keep their independence. Kirstin wants to be able to put a smile on each and every customer's face and make them feel valued. Seeing them happy will make her happy.
In Kirstin’s spare time, she loves going out with her fiancé and their 2-year-old son. When it’s her son’s bedtime, she loves to sit down and watch a good Horror movie with a cup of coffee and a packet of Jaffa cakes.
