Many thanks for your kind comments. It was a pleasure to be able to support Mum at a time when she was recovering from her operation. As a team, we find it very rewarding to be able to help someone get back on their feet after being in hospital, for whatever reason and be able to offer that reassurance to caring families like yourselves. Please give Mum our very best wishes.

This got me thinking; has my mum got something in place when she needs care in the future?
I wanted to help people manage these concerns and this is what lead me to start a care company.
Guardian Angel Carers is a franchise that I knew would give us the support and reputation we need to build our own successful care company. Not only does its values align with ours, but it also has a wealth of knowledge and expertise that we can tap into as we grow and develop.
Since starting the business I have now completed my Level 5 in Adult Leaders, which has given me an insight into the Adult Social Care Sector.
I’ve always wanted to work in a sector that helps others, anything from childcare, to assisting those with physical or intellectual disabilities but somehow it never materialised. When I returned from Australia in 2021, I moved to a small village to be close to my Mum. I quickly realised that many neighbours were concerned about their health and care needs as they got older. The opportunity to open an in home care company with my big sister was exciting and fulfilling at the same time.
Three years later, I’m still as excited and fulfilled as I was on day one!
I started my career in care when I was 17, working in a small care home in Bridlington. I wanted to do something that made a difference. Over the years, I have worked in many different settings, including care homes, domiciliary care, working on a specialist dementia unit, and 1-1 care for a young person with Cerebral Palsy.
I have cared for my own grandma during the last 5 years of her life, who had dementia.
I have a passion for care, which stems from my need to help people and make their lives easier and enjoyable.
When I applied to work at Guardian Angel Carers in 2023, I was almost giving up on my career in care. I had decided as a mum to spend more time with my family and this need for flexible hours meant I was turned away by most care companies. This was not the case with Guardian Angel Carers, they embraced this and could see my experience and drive, was more important.
I already had my Level 3 in care and since joining I have progressed further than I could have imagined. I was promoted in 2024 to Care Supervisor and then in 2025 to Care Manager and I am now embarking on my Level 5 Adult Leaders.
I wanted to be a carer because I’ve always loved to help people and believe everyone should have access to the best quality care that someone can offer. Being able to make a difference in someone’s day is really important to me; even just a simple smile and a kind word can do so much if someone’s having a bad day.
I believe the most important qualities in a carer are compassion, kindness and understanding.
I have cared for several members of my family over the past 10 years and wanted to take forward my experiences of that to provide excellent support for those needing it.
I have always been a caring and thoughtful person. I decided to change career following the 2019 pandemic. I have three years of experience as a care professional and I find the work enjoyable and rewarding.
I first became a carer so that I could help people. I soon fell in love with the job and love getting to know clients and doing my best to make their lives as joy-filled and easy as possible!
I am currently doing an integrated masters in social work & therefore I am eager to learn in a similar sector of health and social care. I have a passion and drive to make a positive difference to individuals lives around me.
I enjoy meeting people and have a caring nature. I wanted to help people
I chose to become a carer because I like helping and caring for others. Caring for my Grandad helped me realise that this is what I wanted to do as a career.
I enjoy knowing I have helped someone in their day-to-day lives.
Nicola lives in France and flies over to the UK to provide live-in care to our clients. Whether that be a few weeks to assist with convalescence or long-term care as a comforting alternative to moving into a care home.
I enjoy knowing I have helped someone in their day-to-day life as it makes me feel warm. It is something I consider will be my career going forward.
I like to feel that I have done something useful and helped those in my community.
I think it's important to have the ability to give someone else your time and kindness
