My parents were a little reluctant to accept regular care but after an initial visit from the Homecare team they were relaxed about the nature of the visits and a flexible program of calls was quickly agreed and implemented.

The start up process was simple, and the Carers have all taken time to get to know Mum and Dad and built a rapport. This has very quickly eased the burden on myself and siblings and made a tangible improvement to their day to day routines which I'm confident will continue. Many thanks.

My carers have become personal friends , which means that I can share lots of things and be understood. I have been given lots of advice which has been very helpful.

The care for my dad has been exceptional. My dad always looked forward to his visits and outings with his carer. He said she was always interested in what he had to say and things he wanted to see, never making him rush. When my Dad went into hospital, the carers still visited Dad in hospital, giving support, friendship and stability of care. They liased with the hospital staff and us which really helped with the communication of continous care. Radfield was flexible in changing the care package as Dad's needs changed, giving the family peace of mind and my Dad a better life. Eventually, sadly my Dad's life came to an end. Radfield were able to help us get Dad out of hospital and home with an end of life care package as Dad wished to be with family, giving him dignity and peace. If you need help, be it just social or the whole live-in care package, then I thoroughly recommend Radfield for great compassionate care, with fantastic communication.

My wife looks forward to her visits from Clair - and ALWAYS ends up with a warm smile on her face.

Overall Experience

I am my husband's primary carer and was diagnosed with cancer in June 2025. I knew I would need help to manage. I consulted a care agency in Guildford and they suggested Radfield Home Care in Leatherhead. The agency gives a holistic companionship service and carers come each morning (weekdays). I am advised each Thursday as to who will be attending - we have got to know the carers and regard them as friends. All in all an excellent service.

I cannot recommend Radfield Home Care highly enough. The carers are compassionate, professional, and genuinely dedicated to providing outstanding support. From the very beginning, the team took the time to understand our needs and created a personalised care plan that gave our family complete peace of mind. Since I do not live in the UK it is important that I'm able to fully depend on my father's carers, and the team at Radfield always go above and beyond to help us.

The Radfield team have been an absolute godsend. They came highly recommended, and rightly so. They don't just go through the motions of the physical help that dad needs: they are kind to him, they tease him they chat with him; they notice him; they truly care. They contact me when they're concerned about him, and keep me updated (and at the same time recognise his own autonomy); they pop back to check on him outside their rostered hours (or even sometimes just to say hello if they're in the building). They even recognise me by name when I pass them in the building (more of a feat than recognising me in his apartment!)

I'm really glad that we followed the recommendation we received. Yes, Radfield are more expensive than the previous agency we used, but for the peace of mind they have given they are is absolutely worth it

Absolutely superb service.We have used Radfield Home care to help my mother in law who requires assistance going to medical appointments and visits to her home after a recent operation. I could not recommend Radfield and their carers, more highly- they have been excellent. From the first interaction over the phone arranging the visits, to the actual care- really friendly and helpful carers to the feedback after appointments. Everything has been superb . It has been such a comfort to have them on hand as we live 40 minutes away and it is not always possible to be there for her with work commitments etc. I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending them to anyone seeking home care for themselves or a loved one. Overall Experience

We always looked forward to our carer coming each day whether she was helping my husband get ready for the day or taking him out he was the focus of her attention. She listen to his life stories and took him to librarary and museum to fill in th blanks. She visited when he was in hospital and was by his side to the very end keeping a smile on his face. He told me he always felt safe with her.

A heartfelt thanks to the team at Radfield, they responded very quickly and put an immediate short term care plan in for my Mum after falling and fracturing her pelvis. This was the first time that Mum has needed care and it was difficult for her to accept, the carers were all absolutely lovely, patient, kind and gentle - they were very respectful of what she did and didn't want. I'm so grateful for your help. Without hesitation, I'll be back should Mum need further care in the future.

Thankyou Radfield for continuing to provide high quality care for mum. She has been under their care since they first opened. In the last year, mum has been recovering from a broken hip after a fall. It is a long process, as she is no spring chicken, but the carers have definitely helped. At their very best, they judge her moods (generally happy), engage her in a wide range of topics and share in lots of laughter. Their communication system is very good ,so keeping an eye on her from a distance is valuable for me. Thankyou everyone at Radfield.

We have used Radfield now for about 18 months. We chose this company as they advised they would always attend for a specified time and a planned time give or take a few minutes. i.e. If the visit is planned for 45 minutes from 8am, if they were delayed by 15 minutes, my mum would still get her full 45 minutes. The staff are well trained, courtesy and give good feedback with regular meetings to check both sides are happy. On occasions they have picked up meds or taken mum out on a trip, invited her to take part in activities even if she chose not to attend. We have installed cameras so we are able to monitor mum and the service she receives from the carers. The only negative is the turn over of staff but I guess this happens in the care industry. All staff are very polite and happy to communicate with me if I drop in during a visit. One carer is particularly kind and caring and fortunately does majority of the visits

Radfield has a wonderful group of carers working for them. Every one of them is warm and kind in their approach. Their skills and expertise are excellent in everything. We feel so fortunate to have found Radfield and they accommodated my mother's needs immediately. I recommend them 100%, they have helped us so much. We now have a regular pattern of care set up and can't imagine how we coped without them. Thank you to the owner and her lovely team.

My mum has had Radfield for a couple of months now. I have been very impressed by their service. The communication has been really regular and helpful.
The app shows lots of information about the visit, which enables me to get a sense of how Mum is each day and if anything needs sorting.

Mum has really warmed to her carers, as she didn't feel she needed support when it started.

I was very surprised and happy with all the care, she turns up on time every visit, has no problems with dignity, she is very attentive to my needs. I have a balance problem so I have to have to have close attendance or I will fall at any time, so I am conscious of her close attendance which is very reassuring. Thank you.

I contacted Radfield Home Care in regards to getting some help put in place for my father. He has had a few medical hiccups, lives alone and has got to a point where he is not really looking after himself properly. I live quite far away and so unable to help him on a daily basis, so finding Radfield Care and meeting the team was an absolute godsend for me. The relief I felt being able to leave my father knowing he was going to have a nutritious home-cooked meal every night and given a reminder to take his medication took a huge weight off my shoulders. I'm able to track Dad's care on their app so every day I know his mood, what he has eaten and the tasks that have been completed. Not only do they support my father but they have been incredibly kind and understanding with me, offering advice and support when I've needed it the most. It's not an easy journey, but I couldn't be more grateful and happy that I've found Radfield. Life is more balanced when you are walking beside me. Thank you.

Karen Knapp

Radfield Home Care Epsom & Leatherhead was established in November 2022 by Director/Owner Karen Knapp. Karen prides herself on providing excellent service for clients with care that makes a real difference.

Karen started her career as a family care worker over a decade ago supporting a foster family and later moving into the community enabling adults and children to maintain their independence at home. For a long time after this, her life took a different path. She moved into the world of finance, with a focus on mentoring and coaching her team. She took great pride in helping team members, graduates, apprentices and colleagues to explore and reach their full potential.

Karen’s natural affinity for care and nurturing relationships makes her perfect for the home care sector, where she can help the local community age well and remain connected to what matters most.

“I loved my time as a Care Professional and, despite how well my career in finance climbed, I couldn’t shake the desire to return to a job that I loved and had a passion for. I enjoy helping and supporting people and feel so privileged to have the opportunity to return to my career roots, fulfilling a lifelong dream of spearheading a profession that provides excellent and quality care for those in the community.”

Karen comes from a family of care-related professions. Psychiatric nurses, radiographers, social workers, midwives, hospital administrators and now, Karen too.

“When I was 18 I loved providing support, encouragement and companionship to those that I cared for. I dreamt that one day I would be able to open care and foster homes in my community that offered the excellent social care that people deserve. I strongly believe both older and younger generations have so much experience and knowledge to offer one another. By bringing them together, we can create physically active, mentally fulfilling and lasting connections in our communities. At first, this felt like a pipe dream, now, through Radfield Home Care I am taking that first step towards making a difference in the lives of those that we meet.”

Kirsty first joined Radfield as a care professional in January 2024, having already worked in care for an impressive 16 years. A dedicated and qualified professional within the care sector, Kirsty describes her background:

“At 19 I started working in a nursing home (for 4 years) then I worked for a few domiciliary care companies (for 4 years). Then I worked for Sutton Social Services with their rehabilitation team (3 years) and then I was a private carer up until 2022 (learning how to do some of the paperwork side of things). Last year I worked in a small independent pharmacy. I started off as a teenager knowing nothing about care, but over the years have learnt and understood the different needs and challenges faced by those requiring care. I’ve met people from all walks of life, in all different circumstances. I’ve taken every learning opportunity given to me to help support various health conditions and provide personalised care.”

Kirsty is passionate about the delivery of the highest level of care and knows just what an important difference it can make.
