Compassion First have been superb. They listened to what I was after and at the first visit to meet my parents they worked hard to start to build trust with a couple who really didn't think they needed any care. They were patient with short term changes in requirements (usually caused by differences of opinion between me and my mum!). A few months in there was an urgent need for extra care including overnight, and they responded on the same day with no fuss. As needs have continued to change, the care has changed rapidly to suit. At each point their primary concern has been about my parents and I feel as if they genuinely care about them. I am totally confident in the competence of the team from top to bottom and I strongly recommend them.

I can't speak highly enough of the care and support given to my mother by Compassion First. From the very first meeting, I felt assured of their professionalism and genuine desire to give my mother the best care possible in her own home, taking full account of her needs and treating her with the utmost respect as an individual. Her care team were amazing and very soon gained her confidence, so much so that she began to refer to the carers as her friends. The manager and team often went above and beyond, arranging collection of repeat medications and even visiting her in Hospital after a fall. I felt totally reassured that they were giving her the best care possible. I can highly recommend Compassion First for their excellent service.

I write simply as a neighbour of the people involved- I got to know them after a fall hospitalised one of the brothers, leaving the other at home. I cant begin to express properly just how impressed I am with everyone involved from the care company- their compassion is off the scale, helping out and advocating far beyond what was expected. If I had a loved one in need of daily help, hand on heart, there is NO OTHER provider I would contemplate. They went above and beyond (and still are) to ensure continuity of care, to advocate when relatives didn't bother- to visit in hospital (it isn't close by either) and buy things that were needed when no family member bothered to, to keep those living close by informed of what's going on so that the people who care can help out. This is what care looks like. This us truly compassion demonstrated by actions.
To all those involved- thank you. I know they will never know how much you've done for them- but I do and I'm so grateful. Thank you. Xx

I have worked in the care sector for over 13 years, supporting both children and adults with a wide range of needs, including learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and complex support requirements. My career began in frontline roles as a support worker and care assistant, which not only developed my passion for supporting others in the community but also gave me a strong understanding of the genuine difference that high-quality, compassionate care can make to a customer’s everyday life, as well as the positive impact a supportive and valued working environment has on care staff.
Over the years, I progressed into leadership and management positions, including Team Leader, Registered Manager, and eventually Head of Domiciliary Care. These experiences provided me with valuable insight into delivering safe, person-centred care while building and supporting strong care teams.
After many years in the sector, I recognised the growing need for a genuinely local home care provider that combines professionalism with authenticity, compassion, and a true passion for making a difference in people’s lives. This inspired me to establish Compassion First Home Care — a service built on the belief that every individual deserves care delivered with dignity, kindness, and respect.
