We have been using Walfinch for my mum - now 90 years old - for several years and have always been happy with the excellent care, reliable attendance and great communication.
And this week they have excelled themselves.
When mum comes to stay with us I'd usually collect and return her by car - 340 miles round trip each time. Collection was as normal but due to a local fuel shortage, we had to put mum on a train home at the last minute.
The prospect was full of potential anxiety for mum but Walfinch organised a carer to collect her from Newcastle station and deliver her home, so the process ended up being fuss free.
We live hundreds of miles from where mum lives, it's so comforting to know there is a local trusted resource, thanks you Walfinch team .

We transferred to Walfinch Newcastle East at the end of February after dissatisfaction with our previous carer. What a difference! Walfinch showed a great deal of interest and determination to meet my wife's needs. We were assured that any new carers would, at no extra cost, be introduced to us and work alongside a known carer or by the Care Manager, who has been excellent in being flexible and planning cover well in advance. She has shown real interest in our views of the service Walfinch provides, which has been excellent.

The Walfinch managers are professional & caring in my experience. Communication is excellent. The carers provide an excellent service - I have not met a carer I have not been happy with.

Walfinch have been caring for my elderly mam for several weeks after a period of ill health to support with her rehabilitation. I honestly can't recommend them more. They provide exactly the right level of support whilst maintaining my mam's independence to do things herself as much as possible. My mam loves all of the 'girls' who come to see her and even though she is much better now will not be stopping her daily visit! Walfinch provide us with the comfort to know mam is ok even when we can't be there, the app they use to keep us informed is also brilliant. Thank you Walfinch! X

This review covers the period from November 24 and is ongoing. After looking at several care providers for my elderly Great Aunt I decided on Walfinch. Since the very first day it has been like a breath of fresh air! I am no longer worried that staff will not turn up, or that they will not be adequately trained. Of course it is a two way relationship and the management team offer me feedback and ideas and don't wait for the review period to get in touch. They take note of little things that make a great difference for my aunt. Professional, courteous and always helpful. From the management team down to the carers on the front line they are responsive and without doubt an excellent care provider. I needed some extra help with my extremely frail mum for about 4 days with showering and getting her into bed at extremely short notice. The managing director and the client manager couldn’t have been more helpful and arranged an immediate assessment and put the care I needed for her in place straight away. The carers who came were professional, caring and punctual. I couldn’t have asked for a better service and will definitely be asking to use their services again.

After the initial contact from the managing director and the meeting with the care manager/the carers, everything has been done to the agreed timescales and costs.

I started using Walfinch after a couple of other companies had been unsuitable, they have been absolutely fabulous. My dad looks forward to his visits twice a day, he loves the chats and they even manage to coax him into the shower! Very good service all round. Carers are on time and very reliable indeed. No task is a problem - excellent communication on Dad's day and progress.
