The manager of the care team has been extremely helpful.
The care the client is receiving is good. A little gets lost in translation at times as client is deaf but all the team are very helpful. Without care the client would not be able to live alone .
A complete change of bedding once a week and
light house work is now to be received if time constraints apply that will be a huge help, for that the family are very grateful. Without care the client could not wash or dress so Thankyou.
Reply from Lucy Forrester, Operations Manager at Royal Care CanterburyThank you for your kind feedback.
We are very pleased to hear that you are happy with the care being provided and that the team have been helpful and supportive. Your comments are greatly appreciated.

The only issue I have is not being notified of changes to my rota. I have a 12 year old son and when I am bad he will answer the door and will go by the name on the rota, when it is changed and we are not told. This becomes a safety issues for my son.
Reply from Lucy Forrester, Operations Manager at Royal Care CanterburyThank you for your feedback.

Im sorry you havent been notified when your rota has changed. We understand this can create a safety concern, especially if your son answers the door.

We will make sure all future rota changes are communicated to you in advance, with clear confirmation of the carer attending. We are also reminding staff of the importance of notifying clients promptly whenever any changes are made.

Thank you again for raising this with us.

I've been with my care provider for just under a year. They are friendly and helpful towards the requirements that I need to make my life easier in my recovery. I did have a few little issues early on with my care but they got sorted out quickly. So now I am very happy with the care I'm getting.
A
great company.

My mother has only been using the service for just over two weeks and she is pleased with the service received so far. The initial introduction with the manager was very good and he responded quickly to my queries with the Contact and Service User document. We receive a weekly roster of the carers who
will attend my mother and they are all very pleasant and chat with her in a friendly and courteous manner. They check every time if there is anything else they can do before they leave. They clean up before they go and dispose of any waste in the bins outside. As her daughter I am very please that I can review the carers visit every time using the app which gives me piece of mind on the days I am unable to visit.
It is too early to say if they are value for money due to the short time we have been using them however they are of value as I cannot be there 24 hrs a day and I wish to remain her daughter not her carer.
Reply from Lucy Forrester, Operations Manager at Royal Care CanterburyThank you very much for taking the time to share your feedback. We are delighted to hear that both you and your mother have been pleased with the service during the first few weeks. It's great to know that the initial introduction with the manager was helpful and that your queries were responded to promptly.
We're also pleased that the carers attending your mother are friendly, courteous, and attentive to her needs. Ensuring our service users feel comfortable and well-supported, while maintaining a clean and respectful environment, is very important to us. It's wonderful to hear that the weekly roster and the app are giving you reassurance and peace of mind, especially on the days when you're unable to visit.
We truly appreciate your kind words and your trust in our team. Supporting families so they can continue to be daughters, sons, and loved ones rather than full-time carers is something we deeply value.

My mother is very pleased with the care she's receiving for bathing and light domestic tasks once a week. She reports her carer is very respectful, thoughtful and capable and has put her mind at rest. When she was away, a colleague came and she too had the same skilful and respectful approach. This
has been a big step for my mother who is very independent and was a little resistant to the idea of having carers. We are all very grateful.
Reply from Lucy Forrester, Operations Manager at Royal Care CanterburyThank you very much for your kind feedback. We are delighted to hear that your mother is pleased with the support she is receiving. It means a great deal to us that she feels comfortable and respected, especially as we understand that accepting care can be a big step for someone who values their independence.
Our team always aims to provide thoughtful, respectful, and person-centred support, so it is wonderful to know that both carers were able to put your mother at ease and deliver the same high standard of care. Your appreciation will certainly be shared with them.
We are grateful for your trust and are pleased to be able to support your mother in maintaining her independence at home. If there is ever anything more we can do, please do not hesitate to let us know.

If you are looking to retain your independence as you get older and require some form of support or care in order to remain in your own home then I cannot recommend Royal Care more highly. They are an exceptional staff who are highly dependable yet friendly and reliable in all that they do. They nursed
my mother with the utmost kindness and respect as she battled cancer whilst remaining in her beloved home. Now they offer excellent home help so that my Dad can retain independence but have help with daily chores such as ironing and food preparation!
I am also highly impressed with one of the Managers called Alina who knows my Dad very well and offers me extra support and peace of mind if I need to go away.
We are incredibly lucky to have found Royal Care to help support us. Thank you everyone!!
Reply from Lucy Forrester, Operations Manager at Royal Care CanterburyThank you so much for your kind words and heartfelt feedback. We're truly touched to hear how much our care and support have meant to your family. We'll be sure to share your appreciation with Alina and the rest of the team - they'll be delighted to know their efforts are so valued. Thank you again for trusting Royal Care; it's a privilege to be part of your family's journey.

The actual carers are very good. Very professional friendly and cheerful. If I have a fault it would be with the management who don't seem to care about the pressure they are putting there staff through. The distance and routes between clients isn't taken into consideration and it will only be worse
when the dark and wet weather comes upon us and the carers have to drive down winding dark country roads and have limited time in between calls
Reply from Lucy Forrester, Operations Manager at Royal Care CanterburyThank you for your feedback and for recognising the professionalism and dedication of our carers - we're very proud of the work they do. We're sorry to hear your concerns about scheduling and travel routes. We do take the safety and wellbeing of our staff seriously, and your comments will be shared with management so that we can review how calls and travel times are planned, especially as the darker, wetter months approach. Your input is valuable in helping us improve both the support for our carers and the quality of service for our clients.

Overall very happy with care. Please may I ask that when shoe laces are tied up they do a double knot. Also please when washing up don't run hot water away and use bowl. Also would it be possible to help with any cleaning and changing bed only if possible. Thank you.

The care manager I found was very proactive, communicative and easy to reach. She also had genuine care for her clients.

Her staff were also caring and always smiled when in my Nan's home.

The Royal Care team attend to my father three times a day. He was very anxious having people come into his home but the kind and caring approach of the carers attending has quickly put him at ease. They balance the hygiene, medical needs of my father perfectly with the emotional needs, engaging in conversation
and sharing a joke now and again which brings some joy to his difficult situation. I am grateful to their manager also who has communicated well with myself helping to tweak small issues to help make my father more comfortable and liaising with other professionals on my behalf when I am busy. Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Home Care Provider is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.822 for Royal Care Canterbury is calculated as follows: ( (107 Excellents x 5) + (21 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 129 Ratings = 4.822

(1st = 3, 2nd = 0.5, 3rd = 0.5, 4th = 0.25, 5th = 0.25, 6th = 0.05, 7th = 0.05, 8th = 0.05, 9th = 0.05, 10th = 0.05, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025)

    The 5 points relating to the number of Positive Reviews for Royal Care Canterbury is based on 22 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as follows: 3 + 0.5 + 0.5 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 5
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Home Care Provider does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
