After 5 years living with and looking after his mother-in-law in Much Hadham, the Director set up the East Herts branch of GoodOaks to cater for Bishop's Stortford, Great Dunmow, Epping, Sawbridgeworth and Harlow to provide quality local care. He greatly values the knowledge and experience that the registered manager, and her team provide. Care is confusing and often requested at a distressing time. There is huge job satisfaction in seeing the team triage a situation and put in place a plan centred on the right mix of pragmatism and empathy. The branch is defined by an honest, no-nonsense, highly professional approach delivered where appropriate with a sense of humour.

GoodOaks Homecare delivers personalised, high-quality care that enables people to remain safe, comfortable and independent in their own homes. From short daily visits to full-time live-in support, the focus is always on helping clients live life on their own terms.

Care is provided across two core services: visiting care and live-in care. Visiting care can range from brief support calls for tasks such as meal preparation or medication prompts, through to more comprehensive assistance for individuals living with complex health conditions.

For those who require round-the-clock support, live-in care offers a dedicated care professional who lives in the client’s home. This service provides continuity, reassurance and practical help, including personal care, household support and companionship, all tailored to the client’s lifestyle.

My mum is being supported by Mandy from Goodoaks. A kind, professional and reliable carer. She really is great. Mandy is training other carers to work with her. i know she will promote the best possible standards in her team to ensure that all their clients are cared for with the compassion and competence
they deserve.
The service right from the start from Goodoaks has been absolutely excellent. An efficient set up process and easy payment methods.
As a daughter of frail but fiercely independent parents , having the support of Goodoaks means they can stay where they want - in their own home. I cannot recommend goodoaks strongly enough.

After a career as an officer in the Royal Navy and several commercial roles in business since, James experienced the difference that Homecare could make when he moved in to live with and look after his mother-in-law in Much Hadham in 2020. Impressed by the partnership needed between carers, family, district nurses and palliative care, he researched the market and chose GoodOaks Homecare as the best in class and started the East Herts branch in late 2025.
People are the main focus - great staff lead to great outcomes and he is determined to train and maintain a high standard of local carers.

Amanda has been an award-winning carer since 2011 and a trainer since 2016. She has had a number of roles, including Regional Manager, 9 years as a Registered Manager, both in Homecare and Residential businesses in the Essex and London region.

2020 winner Care Assessor, Care Planner and finalist Care Leader Categories and finalist for all categories at the National level.
