Home Instead Farnborough, Farnham & Fleet has created a free local resource designed to help older adults, their families, and carers find activities, support, and community connections across North East Hampshire, all in one handy place.
The What's On Where Guide, known as the WOW Guide, was developed in response to a simple but common challenge: knowing what is actually available locally and where to find it. For many older people and their families, navigating busy websites, changing services, and word-of-mouth information can feel overwhelming, particularly at times when support is most needed.
Importantly, the WOW Guide has been designed with the older, offline community member firmly in mind. Printed copies are available to pick up from the Home Instead Farnborough office as well as a number of local community outlets across the area, ensuring it reaches those who may not be online and need it most.
Packed with useful, reliable information, it covers everything from social clubs and community activities to health and wellbeing support, dementia-friendly cafés, transport schemes, and trusted local contacts. The resource has been developed in collaboration with Hampshire County Council, NHS Frimley, and other trusted local organisations, with every listing carefully checked for accuracy and reliability.
Lauren Fridge, Business Development Manager at Home Instead Farnborough, said: "We know from the families and individuals we work with every day how difficult it can be to find the right local support, especially when you are already dealing with a lot. The WOW Guide came from a genuine desire to make that easier. Whether someone is looking for a friendly coffee morning, falls prevention advice, or specialist dementia support, we wanted to create something they could turn to with confidence and find exactly what they need without having to search endlessly."
Completely free to access, the WOW Guide is intended for older adults who want to stay active and connected, family members and carers supporting loved ones, and professionals looking to signpost clients to reliable community resources.
A digital copy is available to download at www.homeinstead.co.uk/farnborough-farnham-fleet/blog/whats-on-where-guide, or printed copies can be collected from the Home Instead Farnborough office at 45 Alexandra Road, North Camp, Farnborough, GU14 6BS and various community outlets across the area.
