Chido Zimunya joined Caremark Chelmsford and Uttlesford in early 2025 and has quickly become known for her warm personality and the genuine connections she builds with customers.
One of these connections has even led to her taking up crochet as a hobby after one of her lady customers showed her how to do it.
Together they created a beautiful scarf and hat and Chido says has now become hooked on her new hobby.
“I’d never done it before, and I honestly didn’t think I could, but I learned from her and now I love doing it in my spare time,” she says.
Originally from Zimbabwe, Chido worked as a primary school teacher and says that the transition into care has been a natural one as both professions involve supporting and working with people from a wide range of backgrounds, each with their own unique needs.
“While the setting is different, the principles are the same as it’s all about building trust, communicating well and recognising that everyone has their own needs and preferences,” she explains.
Chido’s approach has certainly not gone unnoticed and she was delighted to receive one of our recent achievement awards after receiving a high number of customer comments, recognition she says made her feel valued and appreciated for the service she provides.
“I am enjoying life at Caremark and am proud to be making a positive difference,” she adds.
Outside of work, Chido enjoys visiting friends and family and is now taking on new crochet projects, her next goal to make a cardigan.
