We are delighted to share that Neways at Home Weymouth has been rated ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) following our first official inspection.

Between Tuesday, March 24 and Friday, April 10, the CQC assessed Neways at Home Weymouth. We provide personal care and support to adults, including people living with dementia and physical disabilities.

The report, published on Wednesday, May 13, confirmed an overall rating of ‘Good’ across all five key inspection areas: Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive, Well-led.

At the time, 42 people were receiving support, with 27 of those receiving regulated activities subject to inspection. This was the first time we have received an official CQC rating.

Inspectors found that we offered safe and effective care, which was based on thorough assessments, care planning and reviews, and medicines were managed safely. The report noted that the provider went the “extra mile” in following up concerns relating to medicines supply.

The CQC also praised the strong support provided to staff. Team members received regular training and one-to-one supervision from the management team, alongside a strong focus on staff wellbeing. The report highlighted that staff benefited from paid travel time, mileage support, and carefully planned work routes.

Inspectors recognised the positive leadership within the service, describing the registered manager as approachable and highly respected by staff.

The report also highlighted the organisation’s strong community engagement, stating:

“There were extremely good community links. A community liaison officer was continually linking with local health and social care organisations and community groups to identify shortfalls and develop new services such as a recently trialled day service opportunity.”

Inspectors spoke with ten people receiving support, or their relatives, and feedback was overwhelmingly positive. All said they would confidently recommend the service.

Registered Manager Hannah Coles shared:

“As a new provider, we are thrilled to receive a rating of ‘Good’ following our first inspection from the Care Quality Commission.

The feedback we have received has been exceptional. We are extremely proud of our dedicated team of home care assistants and home helpers.”

This achievement reflects the compassion, dedication, and professionalism of the entire team at Neways at Home Weymouth. We would like to thank our staff, clients, families, and local community for their continued trust and support.
