Guardian was the emergency provider when I came out of hospital and I have got to say that the staff both ladies and gentleman were absolutely brilliant with me. They did everything I requested and came with a smile on their face. Please bring them into the office and thank them personally as they need to know they have done a fantastic job. When my time for choosing a permanent care provider I didn't hesitate to request Guardian as my first choice. I always felt clean and ready for the day and they made me lovely meals as I had requested and I got to know them very well. It is so upsetting that the domacillary team for my long term care were unable to allocate a morning slot as I requested as I know they are very busy. So please when you are making this decision do not hesitate to let guardian look after your family member. Thank you to all your staff I will miss you all so much and hope I get the same quality of care as I did with you and the laughs we had. THANK YOU SO MUCH X X
Your feedback means the world to us, and we will make sure your thanks are passed on to the carers...
Guardian Healthcare helped us look after Dad during his last few weeks. Both the day and night carers were wonderful. Always full of joy. A real delight when they showed up. Dad responded well to them. Angels. Would recommend.
Her attention to detail, clear communication, and unwavering commitment to high standards of care did not go unnoticed. It's incredibly reassuring to know that someone so capable and compassionate is there every step of the way to help my Grandma achieve all she can through the day even with her sight loss. You've made a lasting positive impact, and I'm truly grateful for everything you've done. To give my grandma faith in care.
Thank you for your exceptional dedication-your care has been nothing short of remarkable.
Thank you Guardian Home Care (Ormskirk) you are very much appreciated by all of our family.
My nan was left from 9 pm till 12.30 the day after, that's over 15 hours. She is not mobile and was left with wet urine etc, and no breakfast meds or fluids. They don't wash her and 50 minutes in the morning is a maximum of 20 minutes. You can't get through on the phone and when you do they don't care. It is neglect, they should not be allowed to look after the elderly, disgusting.
I used this company when another one let me down badly and they stepped up to the plate
The only criticism I have is that care in the community is now all charged for. That however is the fault of many capitalist governments. Viva la Socialist Revolution.
Told up to 50 minutes in the morning but first visit, 3 minutes they were gone. Cannot cook porridge, dirty dishes left. Refused to wear mask, gloves - said we have to provide. Later apologised but wearing gloves from car outside so contaminated. Said I was 'overreacting' about hygiene but my unwell COPD mother caught covid then much worse. 5 carers in 2 days - clueless about tasks already explained. Some good staff, some terrible. After discharge almost bedridden they asked how much she weighed, barely over 30kg but they were paid for 2 careers - never lifted her. Their watch alarm goes off 15 minutes into a 50-minute visit to rush to the next patient. Very friendly when care package ending and social services discussion about paying privately to extend care - avoid at all costs. In Hospital they visited privately touting for business at home or moving her into a care home until walking. Uninvited and claimed to be 'social workers'. After challenged they said from Guardian Homecare.
Had to contact Care Quality Commission about standards as didn't look after my wife's needs and she had to go to the hospital and even the hospital had to phone the care company up to get her hygiene done correctly, but Guardian did nothing after that except hand care package back to council as we said didn't follow care plan. Eventually had to get our MP involved. Dont recommend using these ever.
Management used to be much better at sharing information. An area for improvement.
The carers are great. The reason I have given a 2-star rating, unfortunately, the office staff are rude, uncaring, untruthful, and unprofessional. The cover is unreliable, no one notifies relatives as requested when care doesn't happen and the office staff are extremely unhelpful! Complaints are not followed up and issues are denied when looked into by social services. Keep a record of every time a carer doesn't arrive.
Staff on the ground are very good but the management is incompetent and can't get their facts correct and then try to shift the blame. Be wary if social services pass them on to you for crisis care. Also, the district nurses were critical of their care.
My 92-year-old mum came home from the hospital and had home care provided by Guardian Homecare (Ormskirk). The carers who have been coming in have been excellent. One arranged for Mum to get medication quickly when she needed it and another went out of her way to go to my mum's surgery to leave a message for her GP when Mum wasn't feeling well. We have been very happy with their friendly, professional service and, as we live a long way away, it gives us great comfort to know mum is being well cared for. Thank you, Guardian!
