Mum has been with Call in Homecare for around 2 months now and does seem more settled, there has been few issues which when contacted they have tried to resolve, she has some really nice carers .
My main grievence with them is there visit times completley inaccurate and unsettling for mumand causes
her so much anxiety on a daily basis. You dont get same times 2 days in a row and app times dont reflect actual times because they are only an estimate so basically they can come in when they like .,every other day i need to phone its stressing me out but more impotantly mum ,in 2 days time she is down for a 7.30 am visit , 11.30 am visit, so in space of 4 hours she has breakfast and lunch which i know she wont eat because its to soon after breakfast.,her (last visit) is the one visit she finds the most distressing, she goes from 8.30. 9, 2200, ive asked repeatedly to try and keep her to no earlier than 8.45 anc they have tried but again its phone calls continuously, so distressing.

Thank you for sharing your experience with Call in Homecare. We're really pleased to hear that your mum is feeling more settled and that she's had some lovely carers - that kind of connection makes a big difference. We're truly sorry to hear about the ongoing issues with visit times. We understand how unsettling it must be for both you and your mum when the schedule is inconsistent. Predictability is so important, especially when it comes to reducing daily anxiety and helping someone feel secure in their routine.Your feedback about the app times and the meal scheduling is really valuable. It's clear you've made every effort to communicate your concerns, and we really appreciate your persistence in advocating for your mum's wellbeing. We hope the team can work with you to find a more consistent and respectful schedule that better supports her needs. Please don't hesitate to reach out again if there's anything more we can do to support you.

We are extremely happy with the support we have received from two staff members in particular. They have responded well to any concerns we have raised around our family member's general situation.
Supporting our family member can be very stressful at times - mainly due to their resistance to accept
their multiple health issues and inability to complete their activities of daily living without support.
We had some difficulties with the previous provider we were given. E.g when we tried to contact them the phone was often not answered and voice mail messages not returned. The Lanarkshire team of Call-in Homecare always answer their phone and have responded to any requests we have made in a helpful, non judgemental manner.

My uncle has been receiving home care support for around 3 years now, following a diagnosis of lung cancer and a general decline in his overall health. He is a quiet stoical man who has lived alone for many years since the death of his brother. His home care support came at a crucial time for him and
indeed for our family, and there is no doubt that without this level of support, my uncle would not have been able to maintain the quality of life he has experienced so far. The carers have been amazing and over the 3 years have formed very caring and dignified relationships with my uncle, and have been very sensitive and responsive to not only his physical needs but to his emotional needs also. We can only imagine how overwhelming it must be to live with cancer and all the anxiety that brings. To the family, the carers seem genuinely interested in his well-being and his desire to live well and in his own home until the end of his life.

I have some amazing carers who look after me and let me live my life to the best of my ability. They do their best and go over and above the call of duty. However there is one carer I do not give permission to enter my house, the coordinators should all know this as it has been many years (and only
after her second visit) since this has been in action but over the past few years her name appears on my rota which means I have to phone and cancel. Apart from this, I have great respect for the carers who definitely don't get paid enough.
